She’s the only vegan youtuber that makes me feel normal tbh , everyone else is like “here’s my zucchini noodles with some lemon juice, tastes so good” no b**** it doesn’t..
And no fake “perfect” pic in the thumbnail. Unlike Kristina;s reveal videos that have perfect oversaturated fruit and veggie thumbnail as her “what’s in my fridge” tour
Omg I love you. Finally a pantry and fridge tour that doesn't make me feel ashamed because it looks like straight out of an Ikea catalogue. Very relatable and much more real life.
12:20 Forgot to add that Kroger Worcestershire is vegan! In the US, certain common allergens (like milk, egg, fish, and peanuts) present in food have to be stated on the label (you'll see something like "contains: milk" under the list of ingredients.
Ghaaaa! Don't store tomato products in the can! Once the lining of the can is exposed to oxygen the acid in the tomato product breaks down the can and will impart a metalic taste, as well as leech metals into your food. Or at least that's what the health department says every time I've been written up for it.
Living in VA myself, yeah its a bit behind on the times in some areas. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if my mother in law had a can of something from back then.
Just a chef tip if you didn't know already: you shouldn't use Ceylon cinnamon in sweet items, it's a better fit for savory dishes that call for cinnamon. Opposite is true for Saigon cinnamon.
The Seitan Recipe dude I’m sure there a kale seitan recipe online somewhere or get creative in the kitchen on your own. It’s not like Swayze is some genius recipe creator.
Azjatycki Cukier The fridgecis good, especially if you finish your supply within 6 months. In the freezer, they are good for 1 year (and no defrosting needed!) 😊
This is so awesome! It can get kinda old watching 20yo vegans who have aesthetically pleasing furniture & super minimal decor. Like eff off with your Instagram-worthy home :,( hahah I'm sorry, I'm just a bitter jealous broke college student 😂💀 loved this so much!
You are so generous to show us your vegan pantry as it is! I can so relate because mine looks the same! It's very helpful - and you are always so helpful in your videos, and that's why I am subscribed.
Yeah. I was thinking, hire me for a day and everything would be clean, organized and labeled, neatly stacked in glass containers and not plastic bags, and you'd get pantry and freezer inventory lists to boot, so you know what's there, what's running out, etc. I'm trying not to shudder as I watch, and this IS a look into her private life that's rather intimate, and I hate to sound so bloody judgemental. But still...brrr!
I was actually thinking, she’s not so disorganized as she is lacking storage containers. I mean, each shelf/cupboard made sense, as in nuts and seeds on one shelf, spices on another, etc. A few Mason jars and she’d have all that easy to see and not piled on top of each other. 💕
Your videos are great, both informative and good fun, you're my favourite vegan youtuber by far! I'd love it if you made some videos about toddler/child food, your perspective feels so much more relatable and genuine than most.
I love seeing that your house is arranged (or not arranged) the way most normal people's are. I love Rosanna Pansino, but watching her version just made me wonder how 'real' she was being.
Well, Ro has more income and space, but she's also just more organized. I am not rich at all or have a huge kitchen/pantry, but mine is organized and "aesthetic" like Pansino's. It's not hard to do.
I actually really liked this. Your “messy” kitchen actually makes me feel better. It seems like everyone has their life so together down to the smallest thing, and I’ve just never gotten there lol. But with you and CheapLazyVegan and a few others, I realize that most vegans are just chill people trying to live out their lives compassionately and productively. It’s kind of cool :) keep up the good work!
Looking at your kitchen, I was thinking: "What is she talking about? Seems ok to me." Then I had another thought. Maybe I need to organize my fridge and pantry ASAP haha
This video is great! Not only because of how relatable it is to have a kitchen in disrepair, but also to get a better idea of how to stock my own vegan food supply. I have a handful of vegan recipes I love to use, but am bad at planning ahead and keeping staples on hand. This gave me some great ideas.
Weinhold Weinhold there was actually a lot of vegetables in the fridge, they were just all in the same drawer and you couldn’t really see what was what. also she didn’t show the freezer but in the past has mentioned that she buys frozen vegetables a lot.
ala Shannen Marie She has some frozen berries, frozen spinach and fresh herbs. I eat that mush spinach every day. One has to assume she did not have fresh fruit off camera, since she did such an otherwise complete inventory and alluded to thinking she covered everything.
I just really like seeing normal vegan eating patterns. You eat healthy but you're not completely obsessed with clean eating, vegan keto, hclf, fully raw, etc. You're not missing out on nutrients, you're not starving your body of fat and protein like so many mainstream vegans are. You just eat like a normal person and i love it. It's realistic
Im transitioning to a more plant based diet and seeing a pantry/fridge that looks normal is so much more helpful than a fridge full of green juice and lettuce.
Twinning! My pantry & fridge are literally the same. I’m right over the bridge in Vancouver, WA so I have all the same brands. Thank you for sharing a realistic kitchen tour. Those sun-dried tomatoes are so good aren’t they? I’m addicted. I also use the Gardein beef tips a lot, in stews or a stir fry.
I really enjoy your videos. I am not Vegan but I have learned so much from you. I like that you dont bash people or push your ideas on others. I do have vegan cook books and I enjoy making new things to eat. i dont know why I am rambling but just want to say thank you
Omg I love that your fridge and pantry tour is so real. It’s so you. That’s one of the things I love and appreciate about you - your total realness. That being said, your food storage gives me so much anxiety lol how do you find anything or know what you have?! Lol. Love your videos. ❤️🌱😍
Thank you for sharing! The fact that you don't separate your beans and nuts according to size and are more like a lot of people that just the fact that you get the food out of the bags and into the cabinet/fridge is good enough for most!
OMG, I want to organize your pantry! It would be so satisfying. Mostly just put things in bins and label them so you know what's there at-a-glance. [You can still always hide soups you don't want to eat behind bins ;)]
Your response to sriracha sums up my feelings for it perfectly. lol I was excited to try it since no many vegan youtubers love it & then I tried it & was like "nope." Your baby's noises in the background are so cute :)
Lol this video was cute and it felt nice to see you out of your usual “scripted” self. (I know you’re not 100% scripted but you know what I mean). Also you can really tell you’re a mom now just how you describe things and the inflection in your voice. Again, super cute and loved the video.
An easy inexpensive way to organize your cupboards is by getting nice baskets and jars in differant sizes from the Dollar store or any store that has good deals on them. I like that big jar you have I need one of those for flour. You put all spices in baskets and then when you go cook you just grab the spice basket you need and bring to counter. You can even get baskets for the freezer and fridge. One basket for frozen veggies, one for fruits ect. My pantry needs a refresh too. I have a stand alone double door and I am thinking of refinishing it and give it some color.
I have a can of each of those progresso soups. It hadn't occurred to me to mix them. I will give that a try. Since I am not the biggest fan of veggies, mixing it with the lentil is probably a good idea.
I recently found your channel and I LOVE your videos! Me, my husband, and our 2 toddlers are currently transitioning to veganism and your channel is so helpful!
Now this was a very nice and different type of video from you, I REALLY enjoyed it and plus gave me a few ideas on some new things to try. I actually don't know how you can have all the nut butters around though, I would be dipping into them on the daily, LOL. I love seeing pantry tours, very well done!! Thank for sharing and hearing Baby cooing in the background was sweet. 💟
LOL! "oooooh Look at all this stuff!" haha I love how real you are. You don't try to act all high and mighty. You're just you and thats why you're one of few vegan channels I'm still subscribed to :) Hope to see more vids like these! They're awesome
This is helpful. Most of these foods I know I would eat. Gladly, too. Been considering going vegan for a little while now, or at least mostly vegan to start. I dont know yet, but your videos are really helping me figure things out. Thank you.
I put a lot of my nuts, seeds, dry beans, and lentils in old pasta sauce jars. No need to buy special containers for everything but then it doesn't flop around like bags!
Wow that sure is a lot of lentil hahaha. I laughed every time you were surprised by finding something in your own pantry that you had no idea was there, because that happens to me as well and I panic a little bit about how close to the expiry date will that be/how long has it been there.
Heather, I got so happy when she put the pumpkin seeds with the other seeds and nuts. She had doubles of the same item on different shelves, it was making me nutty. How could you see those soup cans and not move them with the other same soup cans, arg!
I find some good quality baskets at Dollar stores and or thrift stores and I get organized that way... But yup my pantry always gets disorganization like this.
omg I thought I was the only one who kept their spinach in the freezer still in the packaging with a random clip (I use clothes pegs). I used to put them in sandwich bags, but now I just don't give a shit so I do that.
Its cool you reuse jars I do too. Ever thought to refill them at the bulk section? Would love to hear what you think about being low impact/zero waste.
This was quite enjoyable. Our fridge is a worse mess that that...our "pantry," too (we don't have a pantry...we have industrial shelving we had to buy, cause #cheap apt. no kitchen space.)
Sarah GH Must be a Yorkshire thing to ignore the shire bit then, I've definitely never heard anyone say it like that. I do have quite a broad accent, especially after alcohol or if I'm pissed off at someone.
OH MY GOODNESS, PEOPLE!! All the comments on chia seeds in the fridge. Really?! Who cares, honestly?!! It's vegan and no animals were harmed! And besides, I've done that myself, so whatever. 😵😱😬😨😲Real life, hello?!!
Health is Wealth 3 John 2 I don't get it, either. Nuts & seeds SHOULD be stored in the fridge/freezer; the unsaturated fats will go rancid super quickly otherwise.
Every other week, we make a Trader Joe's / Ralph's trip and being a cheapskate means that our kitchens look about 95 % identical . It was super funny seeing all of my food there
Grains, nuts, seeds, popcorn, Better Than Bouillon we keep in the refrigerator. We buy little canned items, but when we do we buy in glass. We also use washable cloth produce/bulk food bags. Dislike plastic.
Melanie Custo Not really. Where I shop at all the staple pantry foods like pasta, pulses, grains and nuts are sold in plastic packaging. Frozen food is usually in plastic bags and most produce is packaged too :O
Lexy Klein Pack their stuff and leave everything out the door. This way the whole home is yours. Having meat eaters in the house is disgusting, in general.
