I'm sure you have some but some wet wipes are always a must have. I keep a small pack in my ruck, plate carrier, and chestrig that why I'm never without it. Weather it's nature calling, field hygiene, cleaning my weapon ect it's a must have
A really good presentation. Aside from commander's admin kit, your kit layout is very much as we were taught in the 1980s and 1990s (less shovel/pick, NBC and respirator!). We wouldn't often carry a second W/B in the CEFO but would carry the basha kit. This was before soldiers carried daysacks. CEFO was always intended to support the British soldier for 24 hours, unsupported. Spare socks are vastly under-rated. Combined with "Mycota" foot powder, it was an ESSENTIAL in Airborne Forces, back in the day. Usually in the bergen, but personal choice, mission discretionary. Personally, I've always carried a SA knife (on lanyard) in a pocket - I'd do likewise with a multitool (if I had one back then). We'd always carry notebook, pencil, compass (if carried), spoon and rat pack snacks in smock pockets. The BCB "Crusader" Mk2 kit - how do you rate it over the original Mark 1 ('95 patt Mug)? I'm toying with the idea of being a civvie instructor with my old cadet units. I don't want to wear uniform, just teach shooting and field skills. Is that possible?
Uniformed, you could teach SAA, fieldcraft, drill etc. Ununiformed you would not be permitted to teach these. But please, the ACF need more volunteers, don't shy away from the uniform.
Consider becoming a Civilian Instructor in the Air Training Corps . You go do a skill at arms instructor Course, or be trained as glider pilot instructor. You also become a sponsored member of the RAF Sergeant Mess when on courses. What a lot of those who served in the regs / reservist twenty years ago do not understand is due to the Armed Forces being halve the size they were thirty years ago, all Arms have to work together. When deployed our MSR location had REME, RN medics, RAF Police. If you cannot get on with other services today’s Armed Forces is not for you !
COMBAT Equipment Fighting Order! Or was for the duration of my service (80’s and 90’s). Don’t know where Complete ever came from, but imho it’s wrong. Good drills carrying two water bottles though. Nothing worse than being short of water.
Very well presented, excellent teaching style. Personaly I'd ditch the plastic mug and just use the metal one and the note book would always be in my smock or trouser pocket as would the snacks. As always though if it works for you it works.
Amazing video , One wee thing just that the pouch on the right ( utility) is bigger than the two in the middle on my set, If you move the BCB into that it would over pour the pouch atleast it dosnt for me , Very helpful but in regards to a daysack or how other cadets without webbing should store the goretex would be an informative video as the amount of times I’ve gotten the “ oh you have a day sack stick my gortex in there”
I’m interested in using belt webbing for solo wild hiking/bushcraft as part of a tiered survival system. Just wondering the practicality of wearing the belt kit ‘backwards’ (with or without harness) when sitting in a vehicle, not for military purposes of course, just making sure critical gear is always on me, in other words it would be kind of a front-of-waist/belly rig, so I can access things from it when seated in a vehicle, and then move it back around to my lumbar area when on foot? Belt harness webbing would also function as taking some weight of a backpack off my shoulders and onto my waist so belt webbing acts as the backpacks belt strap. Another option would be just using the backpacks belt strap to transfer weight to waist directly and having a belt bag/bum bag/Fanny pack on the front of my waist and also having some kind of chest rig/molle vest to get as much essential gear as possible to stay on my front
I wouldnt recommend wearing it without a harness. Purely because it can get heavy, weighing down your back. As for wearing it on your front, id say it’s possible, but it does give you less space to work in the front, so driving and things would be uncomfortable. Though on your front id say you could maybe wear it without a harness. Id have to test it fully loaded but as a “chest rig” it might work. Just keep in mind that The beltkit isnt designed for being used on the front, so it wont be as good as something that us made for it
@@jockin_around8314 thanks again, also, Jayjays webbing (as shown in this vid) has been sold out for a long time in my size, what do you think of the quality of UKOM brand tailored webbing sets? I need something comfortable and stable to rest a 70L Snugpak Rocketpak down onto so the belt webbing takes most of the weight of the pack onto my hips, can’t find any video reviews of the UKOM webbing yet it’s equally expensive yet available now. @@impermanenthuman8427 i cant say i have experience with this particular set of webbing. After looking at it, first impressions are pretty positive. I do know however that dragon supplies do a fantastic, well built set of webbing.
I wear a webbing system hiking. I keep my rump section completely clear exactly for being in a vehicle. Instead of pouches on the butt of my belt, I have a haversack with clips. When in a vehicle I clip the haversack to the front of my harness. When I am out hiking, I clip the haversack to the back shoulder straps like a backpack. If I have a rucksack or backpack, I clip the haversack to my belt like a buttpack. Just make sure your haversack is short and wide and tough so it doesn't smack against the back of your thighs hiking. I've had no issues and carry 35lbs (12 in the haversack) of kit like a second skin.
@@johnydsmithson6834 its great hearing and seeing different peoples setups. Personally since im using jayjays webbing and patrol yoke, i cant really use it in a vehicle. But thats the good thing about the civilian world, theres no need to worry about grabbing gear quickly. One thing i wont miss about the army, sitting uncomfortably with pouches around my waist, while in the bag of a wagon on bumpy terrain XD
@@Stealthmodeactivated-h8w it’s common for cc’d staff not to shave. Same as it’s a allowed now in the RAF and the RAFAC. Personally I think it should still Compulsory to shave unless exempt due to religious reasons

Approved hearing protection is provided at the firing point or issued before blanks are fired. Ear plugs etc are not allowed/authorised so carrying such items is pointless.
@@Backs4more most cadets get ear protection issued at the start of the weekend and told to put them in their webbing and hand them back at the end of the weekend
@@sniperrhyshughes6648 if using weapons with ammunition. He is giving an example of what he carries. He says that his ammo pouch is empty, which suggests no rifle and so he would not require hearing protection in this video. I think what is more important is that he gives clear, good advice.
So. You’re fighting an insurgent who is wearing Adidas running shoes and carrying nothing but an AK and a 500 ml Evian water bottle. Do you think you’re going to out run him when you’re wearing your boot polish and everything else around your waist? Just food for thought. Fighting load is for fighting. If it’s not for fighting, it should be in your rucksack.
@@Dev-sc4huFirst off, I spent 29 years and 10 months in the US Army so I know what the Army is like. I never played Call of Duty even once. What you just said makes no sense. Your web kit is always on your body, so the weight you carry there you can’t get rid of. Those are the kilograms that destroy your body. Also, if you’re using your rucksack correctly, most of the weight is borne by your hips, not your shoulders. The reality is many soldiers will have access to vehicles, so your rucksack may very well be in an armored personnel carrier or wheeled vehicle much of the time. In light infantry units (in which I’ve also served) you don’t have many vehicles, but rucksacks may be cached at an objective rally point or patrol base. Also, don’t forget the God awful body armor you’ll be wearing. You’re going to be carrying antitank missiles, ammunition, radios, batteries, and all sorts of team equipment that is divided up. There’s no way around having a heavy rucksack.
