I'm excited, they've needed to expand for a while now. Not just in the parking lot but also in the park itself, on busy days it gets so crowded it's uncomfortable. They really need a large expansion just for the sake of dispersing the crowds more, especially if they plan on achieving higher and higher attendance levels. The center piece of the new area should be an inverted roller coaster, imo.
Those are some insightful predictions and seems to add up to me. I just visited the park over the weekend for the first time in years and had an incredible experience. When I first heard they were closing Fire in the Hole I was pretty bummed, but upon riding it again, I totally get it. The ride was smooth enough, but seems like the set pieces have degraded significantly. It also felt like they sped up the ride to either make that less obvious and/or to increase capacity, but the result made it tough to take in everything. I'm glad I got to ride it again for its last season, but I'm so happy and excited they're building a new version. I got some great views of the new facade and show building from the train. From the looks of it, I believe they're doing it right by honoring the legacy of the ride. I hope the storyline remains more or less the same and they find ways to mix the old school charm of the original while modernizing. Practical sets and animatronics would be great. Their coaster lineup in general is phenomenal. The only one I didn't enjoy was Thunderation. I found it to be really rough and a little nauseating. Perhaps re-tracking the ride would remedy this. I love that it's a terrain based Arrow mine train with a great layout. As far as the next coaster, I'd love to see a Gigacoaster. They've got the land and phenomenal views for it. I'm only 5'9, so Wild Fire felt close enough to an inverted coaster to me haha. I agree, utilizing the train for transportation if the park's expanded would be a great idea. A lot of families and elderly people go to SDC, and the terrain is tough. I think sacrificing the train robbery show would be worth it for that.
Great thoughts, I do hope they are able to expand and thrive. You have convinced us that we should head to Dollywood soon, if nothing else to see what Silver Dollar City could become.
The train ride could become a hybrid for both the robbery and transportation, or they could find a different way of transportation, but having to run trains all day with maybe about a 5 minute break at max that could be fully loaded would put a lot of strain on these engines which are nearing their 80s
People with SDC in their resume know things; instinctively, about how the place thinks. It's part of the culture. Random people who don't know.......don't know.....and those folks are just creating content to fill their channel. YOU, Sir Willow, know things because of your SDC citizenship. I was there 89-94 and I still make correct "predictions" about what SDC is going to do, because of my prior citizenship. When you lived in The City 60-80 hours a week for 4 or 5 months each year, you get connected to the brain tank. LOL Keep doing your thing and working your magic. giggles.
It would be cool for silver dollar city to add a resort Dollywood has about to be two resorts the newest one HeartSong Lodge & Resort opens up this fall 2023. Then expanding silver dollar city would be awesome like me personally it’s time to expand the train depot a little bit more so more guests can wait like what Dollywood has done over the years on the Dollywood express train depot it has expanded more and now they finally got a safe and easy handicapped accessible ramp for the 2023 season. But back to silver dollar city expansion make more family style rides for all guests most specially in wheelchairs that would be awesome.
Resort Hotel on park WW moving there Branson Belle moving there paid parking And paid parking is a BAD IDEA People only pay the astronomical entry price because parking is free
It has nothing to do with having enough workers It has everything to do with cheap labor You can expect the entire town of Branson to suffer for it And since Branson and SDC are synonymous....well you know where it's all going
Lol do you really believe SDC has a shortage of workers???? Give me a break They have TOO MANY. The job is dreadfully boring. While some crews work their asses off there are just as many crews they could cut in half.
I don't think lack of housing is causing the labor shortage. As most industries and companies I know of are dealing with the same shortages, generally for the same reasons. They don't pay their employees. Entry level is way less than Kum n Go. A maintenance man makes less than $50k. There's not an on the ground job there that pays anywhere close to my meager, no skill factory job, standing there watching milk get jugged all day. Now think about the heat and the costumes they have to deal with. Lol, look at who I'm telling... They'd get more, and better employees if they weren't so greedy, and paid a decent wage. Same as pretty much any corporation.
