I've seen messy and you aren't very messy yet. LOL! I enjoyed this tear down video. I have received 5 PTAC units from a health care facility and plan on breaking them down for aluminum/copper cores,copper wire, and shred.

Camera angle was great and now we know the newer stuff like that isn't really worth the time or effort to take apart but I liked watching you take them apart love taking stuff apart myself

Ive definetely learned over the years most things other than hvac scrap isnt worth taking apart...id rather cut main cord and shred spend more time looking for more scrap

that was fun to watch. Especially since that is the updated model of the exact welder I have. It's a shame that the transformer was aluminum. However, at my yard, I get $.65/lb for aluminum wire, but only $.45 for clean aluminum, so I still pull all aluminum wire I get. Thanks for the breakdowns!!

Good day Charles Up here in Ont. we have alot of on-line auctions. That welder probably would have brought about $30 up here. Also those battery pack boosts sometimes bring 15 untested. Boy the stick welder was even less value Thanks

You would think the transformers would be copper because of the heat. May be cheaper, but the items don't last long.

In Montreal the big transformer can pass as aluminum irony

So many compressors large Motors water pumps and other has gone to aluminum copper coated wiring that I don't mess around of that stuff unless it's old

Nice video as always. So the scrap yard doesn't want aluminium winding transformer as "transformers"? Seems like they'll have a lot of work cut out for them,scratching the windings of every single transformer to make sure it's copper proper.Or, they skipped the "transformers" thing completely? Kind regards.

Stoves, dryers and washers internal wiring is pretty much aluminum. So really not worth taking all that wiring out. Just cut the juicy cord.

I took apart 6 vacuums yesterday and got about 15 pounds of small motors and 6 to 7 pounds of cords. What brand of adjustable pliers are those?
