I learned working as a vendor inside of Costco that they have stores catered to the area’s demographic, so in highly populated Asian areas they have more Asian products, my store was considered Hispanic so we carry a lot of Hispanic products.

Better yet, have the Chinese products in heavily Hispanic neighborhoods, and heavily Indian neighborhoods should have Hispanic items. Pathetic. Notice one thing, they don't sell Kool-Aid at Costco.
Queso Oaxaca: Is a melting cheese, kind of mozzarella good for quesadillas, gorditas, ect. Queso Fresco: Is a wet crumbly cheese good to top on sopes, taquitos, tostadas or just over refried beans Queso Cotija: Is a really drycheese and a little bit more salty, we typically grate it to top on sopes, tostadas, taquitos, gorditas ect. Alot of people dont like it because of it's peculiar smell... Stinky Feet Cheese (thats what my boys call it 😂) Queso Panela: We use it as a side to accompany some type of protein especially when we make carne asada. Grilled or pan fried (with a little bit of oil) in a taco with a piece of meat, salsa and a gilled cactus or cactus salad and some guac...😋 YUMMERS!!

The mystery airheads were the batches when the factory switched to a different flavor. While some flavor from the previous batch was still in the machinery.
Costco worker here. The stores carry stuff that do well to the demographic that shops there. So two costcos within 15 minutes from eachother can have completely different products because of their members

I live in Southern Cali. We have diversity. I have noticed Asian snacks have been on an upward trend over the past 8 years or so. I am a foodie like you Benji. 😁
Costco Business Centers also don't carry some items regular Costcos carry. So it goes both ways. No books, electronics like TV's and no clothing. The Business Centers are very much aimed at restaurants and small business. Not so much families or the general public.
I use Bachans on everything! I make poké, soy beans, marinate meats of course on my lazy days, but super yummy, i even add a little bit to my ramen, udon broth.
Hey just to let you know, I recently found out the mystery flavor isn’t actually a random flavor picked out from the bunch of airheads. The mystery flavor is actually its own unique flavor!!!!
Mystery flavor is just a mixture of two batches meeting in the packaging machine. It’s a continuous process so when they put a new flavor in they call that combined flavor “mystery” seeing as it isn’t the true flavor.
Hmm, I don't know if these are everywhere. The Costco's in my area have "business owner" hours, but it's all the same products (a lot of which you showed in this video), I believe. How fun to see this, thanks for sharing!
I live in Salt Lake City, UT and we have the largest Costco here. Also, started seeing a lot of Asian snacks and seasonings in our Costco here and even just regular Kroger grocery stores now has it too! Thankfully still at an affordable price.
There might not be enough of an Asian population for that demand. When I moved to Reno we didn’t have Asian food either. Once a moved back to San Diego we have Asian food galore!
I get mad when I see Benji shopping at Costco and getting Asian groceries. I go to my Costco and it doesn’t carry any Asian food. I wanted that lumpia so bad. I’m here in the Midwest. All we get is meat and potatoes. Also never knew there was a business Costco.
Bachan's sauce is great! We sometimes use it as a dipping sauce (add some chili's too) for at home KBBQ or a quick stir fried veggies or even any kind of quick fried rice! Tastes like a sweet teriyaki soy sauce. Great video!
When shopping at a regular Costco, I love 💕 the big quantities of things like organic nuts, spices, and quinoa, because they sell tiny amount else where. 💕Really like the smirk 😏 on the thumbnail.

1:50 They indeed don't "add sugar" but still half the product is just sugar as you can see in the chart, they can write "no added sugar" because the sugar in it comes from concentrated apple juice basically... so while it's "naturally sourced", it's still a kind of processed sugar and it's terrible for health, tooth decay, etc... You should give your kids actual fresh apples, it has way less sugar and it's not processed.
I have learned so much about food and the sources of food just by listening to Benji. As someone who frequently works out and tracks nutrition (for now!) I feel like I learn more from him about nutrition than a gym bro eating chicken and broccoli LOL balance is key

There is also different brews of soy sauce, fermenting ages ect. I worked in a Roe house in Alaska with Japanese Roe techs learned a bunch about soy sauce’s and fish.
Hear ye! Hear ye! All hail the king of Costco shopper, Sir Benji! Wish we had Business Costco here in Hawaii! Costco is my go-to shop for everything (that included the photo dept, sadly it folded!) since food prices are so expensive here in Hawaii!
Where I live in CA, we didn’t have a huge Asian population, a lot of Hmong, Loas, small Vietnamese community. Predominantly white and Hispanic. My husbands step mother is from Vietnam so we always craved banh mi, Pho, boba from Vietnam (way before it was popular) etc etc. About 10 years ago we only had 2 Vietnamese restaurants, Random Chinese food but it wasn’t very good. In the last 4 years we have a boom of Vietnamese places, boba, Korean, Japanese, Asian Indian, like I mean it’s exploded! Every store has Asian items in it now too. We only use to be able to find them at one Asian market but now even at our local sprouts they have the Asian items we need. I love it!
Panela… Break it in small amount. Form it to a small ball and pan fry til golden brown. It’s a side item. Queso fresco is a crumble cheese for tacos nachos tostadas etc.
When I go to Sam's Club (don't think we have any BJ or Costco or similiar such stores near me) to buy bulk, how half this vid was is what I want. Not just a bunch of variety packs. Or even a handful of bottles of the same thing wrapped together. Like that Soy, instead of a bucket I'd probably end up with a pack of regular bottles.

I think it’s both. Also, more people are embracing their Asian heritage, and with the spread of K-pop, and awareness of other Asian cultures, more people are curious and want to learn about different cultures, which is great!

When I was first introduced to Costco, it was the warehoue closest to my friends house. I signed up for my membership there and eventually made my way to my local Costco… which was a business center. As a newbie, I just had no idea there was a difference. I thought my local Costco was just a really lame one for months until I found out that the normal Costco is just called “Costco”. It’s like 10 minutes down the road. I was so disappointed mine didn’t have a food court.
There's comparatively few Business Centers out there, but businesses can order that stuff for delivery. 3:47 Some trends are company-wide, but even normal Costco selection varies by local preferences. 5:48 When I went to Las Vegas, they also had straight soda syrup. While Benji is primarily showing off the food, but there's similar selections for stationery and other bulk business supplies. Costco became less of a bulk warehouse as it became mainstream.
I think it's because of more Asian populations in California and Washington (California i think has like 10 business locations). When i lived in Dallas during my uni years, I did a service of selling stuff to four food trucks and a few small mom-pop caterers. My largest spending was at business Costco in Dallas. And Costco in Dallas definitely was Hispanic snack heavy, with maybe three or four Asian snacks. The selection of queso you have is minuscule to what I've seen!😂
You should get the maraschino cherries with the stems and lots of sprite or other lemon lime soda than you could use the cherry syrup to make Shirley Temples or use coke or Pepsi and make Roy Rogers for the girls.
That's an interesting question about why Asian snacks are becoming more popular. I was thinking that there are a lot of services now that will send a variety pack of snacks from different countries so people are discovering a lot of new options.
As someone who’s from Hawaii, who shops at Costco. We have a mix of cultures on our island. Majority of us are Mix-Plates (Hawaiian, Samoan, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Caucasian, African American etc…) so I’d say majority of our Snacks at Costcos here more align with Asian Snacks since we mostly have asians here and tbh I think Asian snacks have more taste.
Interesting that the first ingredient on the fruit strips is concentrated apple puree, which is fructose, just sugar by another name but fructose goes directly to the liver to be processed.
Yes, I live in Rancho Cordova, CA (suburb of Sacramento) & our local warehouse carries some Asian items (varying during seasons), but the S Sac warehouse which has a greater local Asian population has a lot more Asian items.
Wow, going here to get things would be great if you need to cook for a large amount of people. The pre sliced things could be really handy so you can just go straight to cooking.
If I didn't see the title of the video I would of swore you were in my local sam's club, not just the isle structure but where every product was placed corresponding to other products especially the refrigerated section its damn near identical. I've always viewed costco as catering to larger families, parties, events and sam's catering to small businesses, food trucks, b&bs, concession stands so I can see why it very simular at a business costco.

Also because COSTCO has a huge market all over Asia. If you haven't visited a Costco in Asia, it is a mad house. haha. Good times though. I love Costco as well, but I prefer to shop at Sam's Club since they have the Scan andd Go App. If Costco had a similar one, I'd be hitting up Costoc. I hate waiting in line.
That yum yum sauce from walmart holds pressure so if you shake it up , its like a soda can basically, thats after a week after opening, its hard to clean it up everywhere lol
I wonder if the white flavor of airheads is like the mystery flavor of dum dum suckers. they dont put a pig in the line when they switch flavors, they just load up the next flavor. So X amount of suckers coming out are wrapped with the mystery flavor wrapper cause it could be strawberry, or it could be cherry, or it could be a mixture of both. At least that is what a buddy of my who worked in the factory told me.
4:23 I live in Florida and our Costco doesn’t have as many Asian options compared to the west coast like California. A lot of videos I see of certain Asian products available at Costco are filmed in California. There’s a larger Asian community on the west coast vs east coast…. At least in Florida.
I think the prevalence of Asian snacks and candy at the Costco business center is because of all the Asian restaurants owned by Asians. They always have some sort of Asian snack usually an Asian candy at the checkout counter!!!
I go to the business Costco’s near Los Angeles and Orange County. Even the chips and stuff isn’t that cheap. Small businesses are some how supposed to make a profit off this stuff.

They kinda rare. I live in Fresno; the only one I've been to is in Las Vegas. But it is possible for businesses to order at least some of this for delivery.
I live in Sacramento California and the Costco I live close to have tons of Asian food. Yes, there are a lot of Asians inside my Costco and a lot of Asians in the surrounding area. Btw..those pineapple cakes from Tawaiin are delicious. I had a layover from Philippines to Taipei and tons of ppl were buying those Pineapple cakes. Ppl were buying multiple boxes. They couldn’t keep it on the shelf. 😊 I had to grab a box and try it out. My family and I enjoyed it.
Here in the East coast there isn’t as many Asian snacks. There’s more hispanic/latino type foods bc that’s our demographic here in my city specifically
I saw the appliances and i used to make custom cabinets and some of those appliances are being place in homes itd crazy they need something so huge lol but to each their own
I was JUST talking to my husband about queso the other day and how someone who doesn’t know the language would think that queso is a cheese dip but when we hear queso we know it literally just means cheese 😂
