Ever wonder what's inside of a Golf Ball? We cut open a Titliest PROV1 golf ball. School project and we had a good time. I love to golf and this is the ball i use. Interesting that golf balls have unique insides.

in the early 90's me and my brother cut a golf ball open and it was way different. The outside was like a skin we could peel off and the inside was hundreds of tiny rubber bands surrounding a small soft rubber ball that was hollow.

In the 70s I was hanging out with my dad (he was building maintenance) and I was on the roof where I found some golf balls. One was probably slit open by a lawn mower (the skin was cut plastic). I got some needle nose pliers & a razor and opened up the rest... cue the ominousness music--- I peeled back the hard white exterior and was left with a ball of rubber bands. I kept slicing the rubber bands till the golf ball exploded directly in my eyes. I don't know what was in the middle, but I'm guessing nitrogen. It hurt my eyes but didn't do any kind of damage. It sure did freak me out though. Ya....good times.

+Dana Wie-sel granite is harder and denser then the saw. There for the counter wasn't damaged. Only diamond tip blades can cut through it.

When I was growing up in the 50s in Illinois we lived across the street from a golf course. I can remember opening one of the many golf balls we acquired and the inside looked like rubber band(s) rolled up in a ball, quite different from what there is today.

A friend and I cut open a golf ball when we were kids about 40 years back. It had a small soft rubber ball in the very centre with a pink liquid in it. That was surrounded by miles of very thin elastic band type string wound round and round the centre kernel. Then the plastic outer shell. The evolution of the golf ball.

I remember when I was little; way back in the covered wagon days, and my dad cut open a golf ball for us. We spent the entire day unraveling miles of rubber string to reveal a little black rubber ball. It was one of the coolest things I did with my dad. Keep up the good work

toscodav Haha. When you say it that way it does sound like a not so great idea. I looked at my counter and it is in great shape! No damage done from our little experiment. And I can't verify whether I ate paint chips or not:)

I love how you always saw things right up next to the granite! It makes me laugh. It does look cool that way and lands a certain vibe. But have you ever damaged the granite in all your science? I guess granite contractors use unusually sharp blades, but sometimes you use diamond blades, I think.

I really respect your parenting with this educational stuff and it's super cool how interested your kids are and how dedicated to teach them things that you are your kids will definitely turn out to be strong independent adults someday.
