it's a POS with plastic differental gears and weak ass screws to hold in the out put cups...it's been known to give people plenty of headaches. .It can nickel and dime you to death He 'll be better off slapping a 3650 in the wl 10428 1/10,. Race it against a traxxas.lmao
OneEyE Monster correct, Virhuck and Feiyu clones have the metal diffs in them, I know the Virhuck V-01 is powered by a 390 motor, grabbed one when they were 42 bucks in eBay. cut 1.5 turns off all 4 springs (flatten new ends), gave it shock seals and oil (30wt rear 80wt front), 100mm tires and a 10T pinion because they ARE top heavy and too fast for their own good... it's MUCH better suited to being a trail crawler/bouncer/climber, not a fast bash around. the simple shock mods allow more+easier flex, and a little bit of negative suspension travel in the mix helps keep the wheels to the ground more often. sure I took away 55-60% of its top speed, also saves the stock motor+ESC from thermal shutoff or burning up. Kevin is cool, but he likes FAST lol. 12428's motor mount is more difficult to use different pinion gears too.
@@klimenz it is when it;s still a POS with weak ass screws that will snap. It's a RETARDED design. The subotech 1/12 4x4 has all metal diff ..with C lips. like a regular beefy hobby grade...metal. drive lines..which I got for only $35 NIB..It goes for around $50.... Even the dogbones are bigger than my 1/10 redcats pros.... it has as the same width as the 1/8 corvett newbright. I made a chassis for it....install a BRUSHLESS 2845 3300 KV 3s 40C. Use stock fy03 wheels and tires....it'll do 40 mph.lmao since I got a couple of volcano PROs for only $108-es NEW...I extended the chassis to 16" wheel base on one of them..Mounted those big arss wheels with maga offset from the subotech.. It's 13" wide Not as fast as an OX...it's 1/7 4x4...22" long with body.... that'll do over 45mph for only $110.lmao...waiting for the 3s 50 5000 packs to get here...it might do 50mph....The damn tires came un glude when I tested this morning.lmao
I'd like to see you mod this. I'm gonna try and put some away pars on the back to see if that'll improve the performance but I'm kinda scared thinking of popping brushless into it without destroying it with the first Max throttle ;)
I want every car this guy has. I'm just starting out with three 1/10 scale Rcs. One I bought because of Kevin! The 1/10th scale Rampage Kevin reviewed a while while Already had to buy replacement parts for one of my cars. Love this hobby!!
I have one of these as a rainy day kind of toy and I've been happy with it ever since. Only thing I broke was the rear pinion gear after doing wide open reverse pulls and slamming the controls forward. I don't think there is anything else as durable as that for under 100 dollars
I think adding oil to the shocks will help a lot with future damage, everytime you jumped it you can hear it’s frame/chassis smacking the ground and that’s not good for the motor or the other parts like the skid plate/chassis

How did you get the glue off of the screws for the "on and off" switch as well as that wire that goes to it? Mine is caked in a bunch of glue. I burned up my ESC and I need a new one.

Question: i tryied to change gear to steel but i broke the scren that holds it , so bought a new gear but it came with plastic and when i was about to change it...it did not turn again. Si i descided to left it in plastic as it was before. PLEASE tell me how to remove the screw that hold the gear it seems that it had superglue.....ANY advice is appreciated. I'm looking to buy a Kyosho Outlaw Rampage PRO, but hey... i don't have an RC for more than 18 years, may buy this first just o have a blast. And the Kyosho isnt even avaiable yet on my country, this buggy is 1/4 of the price too.
yoghurt inst glue is good for hub reinforcement probably woukd glue in hard bottom i it doesnt cut similar plastic and insta glue again you make kind side bars like even tesla or 5* safety after achieve some robustness then brushless upgrade is ok usualy is this how cars are researched or produced the rhe idea is 3d printer for parts and self idea, developed version is mini cnc drill off course chinese one and tommorow you bulid spaceships or get lego improved ideas kind having fun on video or creativity is more then fun! I also tested video for 1/10 amewi bugy didnt even strong engine could grind pin gear so I need hardened my fun for test is about 100 esc now so ausies having stuff like tesla improvments or enough rain is ok, still think you have weird view on cow downunder, funy haha..
Buyer beware the ESC in this is junk and will fail. The battery is too small and last less than 10 mins and the motor runs got so you’ll need to fit a hear sink. It’s cheap for a reason, just wish Kev did some slightly more critical reviews
Kev, firstly, great video I'm just starting to make my way through your videos. I wish I had found your channel a long time ago because I have wanted to get an RC car for ages but thought it was way too expensive but I can see now that I can get one, I loved the drift spark tyres in the other video, mega awesome. My brother has a car and he broke the first day he had it so he fried the internals so I’m got to buy the internals any fried the motor so I got to buy the motor and he fired the steering. He fired everything in it a puddle and it got wet.

My brother will probably buy one of these and I think I should put my old 540 torque tuned motor in it and see how crazy it will be. And I’ll probably put some oil in the shocks.
Either that or take pictures of it as you take apart. Or as you pull apart put screws back in holes as long as they don't get in the way of the disassemble part.
I have the same one and it has started to amke squeaky noise and how do i fill the oil bcs the suspension makes the noise too and it doesnt do full 4 wheel drive one on back and one on front dont move so well with the other ones
we have bosch all over the place in canada. pretty sure americans do aswell. but the european tools are made higher quality then the ones we get over here
I'm glad this video was made before I got mine because my driveway tore up my chassis and now the gear is exposed, front diff is gone, and I broke an inner 4 link mount on the rear axle on a really twisted jump, I'm using a BMX ramp similar to what you used in the review but that's the fun in the hobby is breaking it and fixing it only to break it again, it's a money pit but it's fun

I cant believe you did not break the rear drive shaft, i broke the stock one, bought 2 just in case. Have more drive time on the replacement than the original one. Mine has been in thick mud, sandy beach, in the water and snow, and steering servo is the only thing that has quit besides breaking the driveshaft.

Problem is not have to much budget for it for this reason want to re-use same old receiver and controler after change brushless motor and esc. Is this possible ? Can u make a video for this? Hello, new to the hobby here. I have one of these cars. Thing is, I think the ESC got wet so it will run for a bit then stop but the servo is still working. How hard is it to change the ESC and is it worth it?
