Being an Alto Sax player, I can say that Selmer instruments are very nice and high quality. One of the nicest brands of saxophone out there, and I also believe they are made in France.
Without knowing the brand and the model, you can’t tell. You don’t even know if it’s made of massive wood. I’m pretty sure he has search for the exact model on internet, as he did for the keyboard. No-name guitars don’t sell well second-hand.
