Hey Pete get ahold of me, I'd def like to meet you and I'll def keep you safe cause if your in danger then I'm in danger cause we together so I'm not even trying to walk that path id rather let you see how sad, beautiful, awesome, it is in my area, there's not much, but if you wanna get a look at life from a whole different perspective and make you feel extra glad that you live in USA , this will do that for you... Great place to visit but living here it's a bunmer in many ways, hard working genuine good people , who just get it up the rear from the govt or lack of... But in the end well you'll see, most are poor In this area but if you need help I guarantee you'll get help faster here then if you were back home in usa in a city where everyone just pulls their phone out whem someone needs help... Positive and negative everywhere nobody or no place is perfect but its beautiful I can tell you that. And your not far far .. I think it could tie in nice from the big city aspect to the opposite end , where I be .. far from city life...

I just offered him several hundred dollars via his insta without asking him what he charged. He got back to me and we set up a date to meet in front of the palace of fine arts near the city center. He did an excellent job although he doesn’t do the sketchy parts of the city anymore.

I think he's great. He's discovering things at the same time as Peter, he's also being honest about it whenever he doesn't know something. I live in Mexico City, and I generally dislike watching videos of youtubers with guides who try to oversell the city/country by romanticizing it. This dude is very matter of fact. I started watching this video expecting to hate it but i actually really liked it thanks to the guide.

As someone who's been to Mexico city a couple times, I've got to agree with you. I became interested in Hispanic culture after Mexico, so I decided to save up and go to Spain, since everything was much more expensive there, but worth it. I believe I rather Mexico's vibes, but I'd choose Spain in a hearthbeat to live there. The country feels rich, very rich, specially big cities, you only see high end vehicles, from beemers to lambos everywhere. Mexico on the other hand feels a bit like the US years ago, and I honestly love that as well. But as someone with kids, I'd choose Spain as I said.

I live in the U.S., and I’m really not happy with the changes that have happened here, especially since the Pandemic and a certain very well-known political leader, and am very afraid of what will very possibly happen when we have our next election next year. I will not live under a dictatorship, and I’m very afraid our country could go in that direction. Plus, our economy is in danger, and hasn’t been doing well, for The People at least, in the last few years, so that is of great concern as well. I’m looking at Mexico as I’ve been there a number of times and I love it, but would also consider other countries as well.

I don't think it was luck, we are generally friendly and willing to help, not because our culture makes us be always obedient and respectful but deeply not doing in from the heart (like Japan) but because we are a family oriented culture where we are always close and helping each other so even is a foreigner we would like to help without expecting something back, we genuinely want them to have a nice experience while they are in their visit, and the more far from big cities you get the more friendly people is, sadly international media just show the n4rc0s violence making it look like coming here is a death sentence when actually the 99% of us are just good people who also suffers from those problems

Also if you heard people telling you my House is your house. That means that you're very welcome in that person's house. Don't get surprised if you go to someone else's house and they offer to eat with them, that's our way to show you a great hospitality and that also part of Mexican culture.

I have been to Mexico and worked with many here in the US. They are just like anyone else, but the good people from Mexico seem to a step above. They tend to be absolutely awesome. The bad people...not so much.

Unfortunately, at that time, the EU wouldn't let anyone in, so, rather than rent an apartment in Los Angeles for an indefinite time...and, because LA was under lockdown, we decided to go to Mexico City and live there until the EU opened up again.

I agree, the thing I really fell in love with in Mexico even being Mexican and visiting it since I’m born and raised in America was just the architecture and feeling I got being there. I’m very sued to the food and culture already since I’m Mexican even if it’s a watered down version of Mexico but I learned to love the bright buildings and stores, how most cities have a centro or zocalo where they all look very similar with the city name in big letters and a very clean park and shops around it. The beauty of the churches and just the way the streets are whether they are made from stones or pebbles or bricks. There’s just a lot going on with the way the cities look and then in between some of the old looking shops, you will have beautiful little restaurants or hotels.

I've traveled quite a bit and Mexico is definitely one of my favourites. Will visit again soon.

What areas do you recommend for families? I've been to Mexico 4 times, but just playa del Carmen with our kids, and cancun. Would love to explore some safer areas like Mexico City if possible.

A normal, beautiful and lively metropolis full of nice people going about their days. Yes, Mexico has its own problems like any other place does, but the Mexico portrayed by most of the western media is usually full of crap and fearmongering. They don't want people to get out of their first world bubbles and find out that there are other amazing places to live/visit. Cheers to all my mexican/latam friends.

Totally agree, I’m also amazed on how clean the streets are. At least the ones in this videos.

CDMX is epic but people really miss out on other incredible areas that are just as safe but cheaper and without the traffic. Consider Leon, Puebla, Queretaro, Merida, San Luis Potosi, etc. Medium and large cities without megacity problems and with strong economies.

Thanks for the recommendations! Am open to any area in central Mexico that is safe and has opportunities for my line of work.

I was born in Mexico City and by the way, I was there last year exactly in that town where the “Cable bus” is. The place it’s been dangerous all the time, but when I was there, it was very quit and calm.

Been to both countries a couple of time and I agree somewhat with Lalo. Australia is particularl and México is peculiar, but in terms of food, party and culture, Mexico is second to none

I really recommend you to visit Queretaro City as well. It’s only 3 hours from Mexico City and it’s one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities in Mexico 🖖🏽 A lot of history and culture too.

There’s another channel called “En Los Zapatos de Monica”, she’s from Spain but lives in Mexico and she speaks in Spanish but if you watch it with subtitles, you hardly realize you are watching it in Spanish. She has done several videos on Mexico City and plenty other cities around there. She experiences a lot as far as the attractions and food and everything else so it’s cool to see what the cities actually offer.

I don’t have kids but I can say that spending time here in Mexico City will be incredibly educational and fulfilling

Only NY and London have more museums. All 3 are the same size.

There are about 100 museums. The murals, the architecture, the people. A great learning experience.

We used to be the city with more museums in the world, I think we are number 3 or so now. Definitely should check the histroy and antropology museum in Chapultepec.

I love the Cuauhtemoc neighborhood.

CDMX had the best japanese sushi restaurant ive ever been too outside of japan... and it was like 1/3 of anything "legit" you'd find in the states like LA or NYC... they have many actually because its a gastro city and you will find unique mix of mexican high cuisine and japanese/sushi... i literally was going every night the staff started joking about how i will eventually start working there bcuz i knew the whole process to a T, i just sit down w/o even waiting like most ppl and start chatting with the cook/chef that day, the waiter bartender didnt even have to ask he knew to pop a bottle of cheap but quality sake and two shots cuz we'd all be drinking LOL the whole "dangerous" vibe is imo from the ppl that are actually from there kinda like ppl from NYC they would say the hood/ghetto/projects are super dangerous and to do this and not do that and they would NEVER go to that area but if a tourist went thru that being friendly the black ppl chillin would actually embrace and get a kick outta some weird person walking thru... i went thru all the areas of CDMX from high end rich to the cartel barrios... you will find some dodgy ppl in those barrios but if you show fear like they said they pounce like predators but thats just life there but if you can hold a convo in spanish and use hood slang and drink/smoke/snort they will take you on some WILD adventures and ill be honest they couldve robbed me at any point and never even tried it... you wanna know the 2 bad things that happened to me in CDMX, being a dumb gringo drunk with open container and walked thru like cop cafe area where they hung out, two followed me and bullied me into an alley at like 1am demanding i pay or go to scary mexican jail, luckily i didnt have my passport or large money i already spent it lol... i had like 20-30 USD but i finnessed them and got emotional almost crying, im a guy btw lol, like pleasssseeee here its all i have and slid 10 dollars in pesos out w/o them noticing and just took off running... they spoke perfect english btw, i heard one say in spanish tho "go see what hotel he goes to"... cuz that was a known hotel street, they wanted to hit me again another night im guessing but luckily i was checking out the next day and went to different area but it wasnt even scary just annoying cuz they wouldnt let me leave alley w/o money they kept boxing me in LOL... the even CRAZIER thing was i got my backpack ran thru by the "cousin" of the airbnb host in the rich neighborhood of Condesa... for 2 days everything was fine and there was security guard on ground level, we were on 3rd floor shit i left my door unlock those 2 days/nights with ZERO problems dude seemed cool and even smoked a joint with me the 1st day i got there... i came back kinda drunk one night passed out and in the morning went to grab some cash out my bag and ALLLLL my cash was gone, PESOS and USD... luckly i had a 100USD bill hidden for emergencies but they took my cards and my passport too... i knew it was his bitch ass cousin tho cuz there was obv no breakin AND they left my laptop and the backpack itself, thats a bitch move, i had the most stressful 2 weeks before i was able to get money routed to me and a flight home... dont even wanna talk about how Embassy made me wait 3 hours, gave them all my info TWICE and a lady came down cuz i had no documents to prove who i was but i gave them all the security check info to prove it was me... for 3 FUCKING HOURS I SAT OUTSIDE in the waiting areas not even allowed to go into the US embassy part for her to come out and say sorry we cant find you in the system... WTFFFFFF... i had to get my friend to call up the american side of things and get them to verify me and make phone call and same lady came down few days later when i went that time like ohhhh yeah we found you... and we heard you dont have any documents thats not good at all im gonna fast track you thru everything... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKKK?! thats what i told you the last time i was here!!!!! i didnt say that tho just got my shit and left...

Before thinking about moving to another country, you should visit the embassies for the country you want to move to. Otherwise you would be an illegal immigrant. If you get caught living without legal papers, you will be fined $10,000. Dollars from the Mexican immigration Department.
