Best Civic,(Touring) review I have seen. Honest and "crisp". I'm an older guy - grey hair & beard and own a '15 Accord EX-L and thinking of going for one of these when the supply chain eases a bit. Only beef is the lack of lumbar adjustment. Thank you Shakeem for such a good review.
More than being the best civic ever, I think it (especially the EX-L hatch) is one of the best cars ever made. If you score for looks, utility, reliability, performance, safety, comfort, and features relative to the price it’s hard to make a case for any better vehicle in history
Great review, Shakeem. For MY2023 the LX sedan has been eliminated and the Sport is now the point of entry in the Civic lineup. Very likely the LX hatchback will also be axed. I live in the SF Bay Area and I mostly see Civic Sport on the road and on dealer lots. An EX is an extremely rare sight. I've test driven the 2022 Civic Sport and it drives very well and the K20 is an excellent, super reliable engine. Honda will debut the new Civic Hybrid in the U.S. at some point in 2023 as the Insight has been discontinued.
@@Shakeem sure is. Got a question for, if you know the answer. Our cars have the 1.5t engine. What is the manufacturer’s recommended fuel rating? Can our vehicles run safely on regular?
i just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv. i'm a toyota person but i think I dropped the gun too fast and this is what i ended up leaving the lot with, lol i'm grateful though, its the perfect car for me. all glory to god! I like these kind of videos. i have videos of my car on my channel as well and videos about the process of getting my car.
You have to remove that wheel cover though, its ruining the interior, the interior is the most beautiful part and the wheel is so nice to touch, that's the point, if it breaks down just get it reupholstered but Im sure it will last 10 years or more, i have the same car in white, its so awesome!!
I really wish they would have provided the temperature gauge on the sport model or at least provide like a system update that can be done to the cluster. Also sad that canadian model of the sport or at least all the canadian trims come standard with heated steering wheel and seats and sunroof and BSD
Thanks for your review! I’m looking to buy my first car and the 2022 Civic has definitely caught my eye. Your candid comments (especially coming from someone who sells Hondas) might have convinced me to get one. Except I’ll probably get the manual hatchback 😀
If you want a manual hatchback I suggest putting a deposit down on one as soon as you can. Honda haven’t been producing much and once they start rolling out it’ll sell like crazy
I've been reading many reports of wireless carplay issues (looses connections, fails to reconnect) and very slow infotainment system loading. Have you experienced anything like this? Thanks for the vid!
I didn’t realize it was u that made the walk around review on the sport touring with HPD package. I really want to get a white pearl touring hatchback with the HPD package and all black emblems. The build I made looks sick
Brand new Sport Touring hatch lasted 65 miles till the car went into limp mode. Power steering failure and other warning lights. Dealer found one of the electrical plugs to the transmission were not put in properly and was loose and they reconnected them. Now I have an annoying dashboard rattle on the right side of my dash. Hopefully my dealer can fix it. Overall it is a good car but very unimpressed with Honda quality. This is my 7th Honda and my last Honda the way things are going. My 09 Civic Ex is 260,000 miles is rock solid and drives like a brand new car.
The lack of HD radio, XM and keeping the car off HondaLink has me looking at going a different brand. Honda just really let me down. I really liked to see in a Civic some lumbar support esp in a Touring. The interior was okay, the one I test drove was super loud when driving it. When I got back to the dealer something didn’t feel right. I drove a 22 EX-L Hatchback. I hated that the current car I have the EX 2020 was more feature packed than the 2022 unless I get Touring. Now with my lease ending and the car lacking some features I hoped would come like remote start from HondaLink I’m looking at leaving Honda since nothing is improving like the access to technology. Still keeping an open mind so we will see as the lease clock is coming to an end.
Hi there thank you for the helpful review! I’m strongly considering a Civic EX for my son’s first car. He has a few tall friends (6 ft 3 ish) and I’m concerned about lack of headroom. I’m 5 ft 11 and didn’t feel like I had much headroom when I test drove it yesterday. Have you had any issues with lack of headroom for you or your passengers in the Civic? Thanks!!!
In my opinion the Touring is a huge difference from the Exl especially the sport. The touring have Power seats Digital driver screen 9 inch touch screen Sirius XM HD Radio Wireless phone charger Wireless Apple CarPlay Wireless Android auto Auto dimming Rearview mirror Homelink Rain sensing windshield wipers Parking sensors If you don’t care about any of those features I’ll say stick with the EXL or sport
People and professional car reviews have been complaining about Honda not putting lumbar support in their Civics for a long time. Yet, for some insane reason Honda continues to do it. Whomever is in charge of seat design needs to be fired.
i have the ST hatchback with HPD kit its such a clean ride. only complaint is the ST should have 2.0T option like the accord. i get the type r is going to be a 2.0t but i like the luxury of the ST. plus a 2.0t automatic would be nice for a daily
Oh okay that make sense. If they added the 2.0T it’ll make the price of the civic a lot higher and it wouldn’t be competitive with the other vehicles in its class. Also it’ll take away sales from the type R. That would be a nice combo but it’s just not realistic
@@Shakeem but just like the accord they could charge an extra 4k for the 2.0 also this would be automatic leave yhe manual for the type r. Also the new type r is gonna be so hard to get
No oil dilution issue, And I barley pay anything for an oil change since I work at Honda. Also no features will be less. 2023 Tourings will have the same features the 2022 had
i have an 09 si coupe rn and im thinking about getting a new civic, i cant decide between the new si or the new sport touring. ive always had a manual so idk how much ill miss it if i get auto but the hatch and all those features seem real appealing
it's a shame that Honda isn't making more of the Sport Touring Civic's.. it gives the dealerships reason to rip off the public even more by adding $3-6K over MSRP. Shame on Honda AND the dealers.
Honda is still making sport tourings and dealers are not ripping anyone off that’s just how the market is. If you want to buy a house right now your going to pay way more than what the average was. Same thing for parts, food, gas, etc.
Depends on how much space you need and how much features you want. Accord Touring is way more loaded then a touring civic. Also way faster too. The accord is too big for me and I don’t have a family that’s why I’ll prefer a Civic
I've got an EXi model (international) which is basically an EX with a few more features like a 9 inch screen, wireless charge pad etc. Mine looks a whole lot like this except there's no sunglasses holder, no sunroof and I still have a half digital display behind the wheel. Same colour too. I wonder if black was the best idea though since it gets dirty so easily and I'm having a few fingernail scratches behind the door handles. Do you also have that problem? The roads here in Jamaica are very lumpy and I've noticed some rattling noises like the brake calipers need some tightening. Or it may be coming from the windows. Do you have that experience too?
Black is more maintenance then the other colors but it’s been fine. It will show scratches more. I haven’t have any noise come from the brake caliper though
I’m in Jamaica too and about to get a 22 sport touring. The roads I drive on can be horrible for real. Lemme know what your experience has been since owning it bro. Bless 🙏🏾
@@17mercurial9migz7 I've had it a year and two days now and this car feels even better to drive now that I've fully broken it in. The rattling is gone since I serviced it and I think it was just a matter of the brake calipers being shaken loose because of the lumpy roads and potholes. You've probably heard you can use 87 gas in it but I use 90 and I'm about to try Fesco's 93. I wouldn't chance it with 87 because my manual says 91. I love using the Honda Sensing features, especially on roads like out by Florizel Glaspole heading to Harbour View or to the airport but I would recommend keeping cruise control off because the other drivers around us are so careless. A Sport Touring in Jamaica would be really cool. Haven't seen the hatchback in person yet. Hopefully I get a glimpse of yours on the road.
Would you say 29,000 out the door tax tag title litterly everything for the ex is to much I know it’s a little higher than would be perfect but in todays market what do you think ?
@@Shakeem this also includes lifetime unlimited free oil changes and a lifetime power train warranty ( I don’t know how good it is as My friend that allready bought from them hasn’t had to use it )
MSRP is about 27K and sales taxes for you is about 4% so that’s another 1K. That’s not including title & licensing and you already at 29K. It sound like you buying it without any mark up
Hi ! I have a Civic Sport (canada model) and i wanna know , where you buy our track for our bike on the top ? Do you have a model and number for me ? Thank you !
I got it off Amazon MPH Production 2Pcs 48" (120cm) Universal Fit Black Adjustable Aluminum Window Frame Roof Rack Rail Cross Bars Utility Cargo Carrier with 3 Pairs of Mounting Clamps (2 Pcs) a.co/d/968jRqa
I have a 10th gen civic that was getting worked on and I wandered into the dealership part where cars were out. There was on new civic and I got to sit in it and man. Feels a lot nicer than my 10th gen. Didn’t expect that How’s your gas mileage? I kinda wish they made civic a hybrid. Would make so much sense
They don’t need to make the civic a hybrid because Honda has the insight. It’s pretty much a hybrid civic. With gas mileage I’ve never really pay attention to it due to it being my fiancés daily driver. Mine is the TSX and sometimes my 8th gen
My Honda dealers want me to take the car with the wheel locks and pro package for a sport civic for 33k wtf. I brought in a credit union loan for 30k. I don’t need all that smh. Honda dealers suck in my area. I’ll probably just order it
how would you rate ROAD NOISE (letter grade)? im interested in rhe Civic BUT i test drove an EXL and thought it was loud on the highway!!! Wondering if the TOURING hs more sound deadening????
It is being said the rattle is coming from the space between the dashboard and the display screen. Try putting something solid between them like hard foam or a piece of metal and see if that stops the rattling sound.
Thoroughly annoyed! We just got a 22 hatchback ST and the remote start and sunroof don’t always work. Its got 100 miles! Went to Honda and they can’t even look at it because when we got there it worked. Duh, the issue is in 2 hours it stops working. Anyone else have this issue?
@@Shakeem oh , you guys don’t have a website or know of any stores i can order window visors from ? I have the same car jus different color & i’ve been wanting to add it onto my car
@@Shakeem cools that's what I was thinking. That's what I was planning. One more question would you just wait for the 23s to come out since it's about 2 to 3 months away. That was the second reason I haven't pulled the trigger yet
Really dumb how you are forced into the Touring trim for basic features like a power drivers seat. So happy I went Mazda 3. Got the carbon edition for a couple thousand less then the touring model and it looks wayyyyyyy nicer.
The Mazda 3 is full of problems. It has rattles all over the place. Also, the a/c is weak. The door seals shrink. The rear diff is prone to break. The software is poorly programmed too.
That’s hard. The Camry is more similar to the Accord then the Civic. It’ll come down to size. If you okay with the room in the civic the Camry will be too big
