What's It Like To RIDE A 300CC Swapped HONDA GROM?

My first day actually taking Dom the Grom out for a ride was exhilarating. Lunch, Hoovies Garage, the Underground Racing Twin Turbo Lamborghini Huracan, a Nissan GT-R, super bikes, and one quick little Grom can all be found in this video. When the 300cc was being swapped into the bike a Power Commander FC was added as DynoJet does not list a Power Commander V application for the Honda CBR300R. Now I need a map or a dyno tune and I'm having a hard time finding anyone who can actually answer my questions about this.

I had a grom and it was fun for a while but after the novelty factor wore off I was wondering what I could change to have fun again. The answer is dropping a bunch of money into the engine or finding other mini bike buddies to ride with. Neither of these happened and I sold it. But your video confirmed a suspicion I had. The chassis is capable of handling 3 times the stock power without being unstable (apparently) so it's no wonder the stock power plant feels gutless. Great video.

I think Honda really should cram the rebel 300 engine into the Grom from factory. Beef up some components, the frame, just for saftey. Get us up to those higher top speeds so the bike doesn't get boring so fast. Plus I can't even ride a stock grom into town because the hills are too steep and speed limits too high. A 300 Grom from factory would actually make it a great bike. Especially for those guys that turn them into touring bikes. Being able to carry a few more pounds and keep the speeds up would allow it to go on interstate. Plus the little tiny 125 engine wears out quickly and a bigger cc engine would make it last longer. Imagine if it was normal to be able to take a well taken care of Grom to 100k instead of 50k and for very close to the same price. Power to weight ratio would be nuts

MP5s are only a few hundred dollars, because only military and police can buy them freely, citizens can access them through the three SOT credits on behalf of government institutions or if an SOT person fails to renew the credit other SOTs can buy their stock.

At 6:20 when you say "I need whatever that is" about the van. That is a Mitsubishi summit/expo mini van that you can 4g63 head swap onto the 4g64 block that most come with. Also to note they made AWD version of that van

Hey you can get the power commander auto tune that will plug right into your power commander module. Just weld in an exhaust sensor then plug it in.

The problem is the intake manifold. Your fuel won’t atomize correctly with the injector being around a bend in the intake. Chimera sells a better manifold.

It needs fuel inrichment on the low end and mabey a notch of timing removed on low end ... Tuner should be able to fix it when you take it in

The running prob may be because of the throttle body relocation witch puts the injector to far from the intake port.

Did the tune help? I had heard these have a tough time idling because there is a 90 degree bend on the intake manifold to clear the frame. This causes the fuel to pool and it's very difficult to tune out... Or that was just a ploy to get me to buy a modified frame to accommodate a 250/300 motor...

I've seen people trying to sell these modified frames, mine is untouched and probably has the pooling problem. Hasn't been tuned yet, decided to go a completely different route and that video is coming soon! 🍻

haha flat out 89 changes gear goes through a load of revs stays at 89 for ages my old tzr125r 4dl belgrada did about 130mph 😆✌️ miss the old days with my small bikes pinned 100% wide open living the life and loving the sound of ringing it but not really getting into trouble 😆✌️

Wow // stock 19 Grom SF with throttle pegged wide open, going down hill, with a tailwind, & me ducked like a racer goes 70 MPH at redline // more like 62 MPH steady state Cruising speed for Stock Grom SF more like 50 MPH // or 500mi in 10 hours // peak fuel economy for a stock grom in 4th gear at 35MPH on level ground = 134 MPG Factory 124.9cc air cooled fuel injected GROM SF motor good for 9.7 HP at 7,000 RPM. Chimera Cold Air Intake + K&N cone filter / Zoom 304SS full loop exhaust / & Power Commander V or PCV + custom map increases power to ~11.5 HP making it possible to go 62 MPH while sitting up // & makes it sound radically better than stock, though the exhaust smells really strange as the OEM cat gone with the full exhaust // very reliable setup Factory GROM tires are mediocre, I recommend & will replace my with Michelin Power Pure SC when the time comes. Change the engine oil often if you ride it hard // Keep chain coated with chain lube or gear oil, especially if your ride in the rain after the man salted the roads for winter ice protection etc // the OEM chain ok if you keep it well lubricated // a chore or not // not as bad as actually cleaning the chain, just put it on a rear stand, tranny to neutral, spin the rear will & spray chain lube on the chain, you might put a drop cloth, news paper or something down to protect your garage floor for the overspray // a well lubed & well adjusted chain lasts 5X longer or more than a neglected one //

i d put an aprilia rs125 2 stroke 34bhp from the 90s...... they were so powerful they had 180 tires stock, 0-60 in 6 sec an top speed of 112mph

incredible, I wish I could have a great armory but in my country (Brazil) the gun laws are ridiculous...I do not have a full auto gun, but I do have a 300ZX TT, among other JDM cars R34 and a S15 and some american V8 swapped too, 1948 Ford F-1 with 1992 F-150 351 cid mechanics with nos, a 1940 Ford De Luxe with a 1968 Galaxie XL 390 cid mechanics, anyway great videos and, you are into a lot of unusual cars for the USA, so if you need something that I can easyly find around here... just let me know! and once again... great 300´s!

These go 65-70 stock. That’s pretty impressive almost hitting triple digits. Idk how I feel about the size of the bike tho. Literally a pocket bike. Can’t carry that with two people and bring it into a bed room lol

Is it me or does that now 300cc look the same[ish speed as a standard grom, that engine should have at LEAST DOUBLE the HP just by the added CC but it does NOT LOOK TWICE AS FAST AS A STOCK GROM, Something i am missing or what and with 2 extra gears SCOOBS UK.
