I've had so many people tell me it's dangerous there but honestly it looks nice!! I want to visit! I just recently moved to Tucson and I'm thinking of checking out Nogales pretty soon
Looks better now than when I visited 2 yrs ago. All the stalls were gone and shops closed. So sad. Because tourists were afraid to go there. Dont know where the shopkeepers had gone to find different work. Heard many were starving and had lost their homes.
I was in Nogales in 2000. I was talking to a Mexican guy a couple years ago who had asked me if I'd been to Mexico. I told him twice, once to Puerto Vallarta, once to Nogales. He said "You've been to Nogales? You got balls man!" This video makes me want to go back to Mexico. It's a beautiful country with beautiful people.
Thank you for watching! You are right, it’s a beautiful country with beautiful people. I loved my time in Nogales, everyone was friendly. I didn’t go deep into the city but just stayed downtown. Border towns tend to have bad reputations (and definitely need to be cautious) but they have so much to offer beyond whats seen in the news.
Wonder why he said "You got balls", Nogales look like it is fairly safe from this video. I am thinking of crossing there when I am visiting AZ in December.
I only visited but I would say there is relatively cheaper food and living - But I don't think it is very drastic compared Arizona on the other side of the border. Different story on comparing a border town like Tijuana and San Diego where the living expenses are drastically different.
I live right next to it and frequently walk there to see family and yes it is cheap to live there but just be cautious since it is in the middle of a tense battle for territory
