“Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, another comedy where he did a great job playing a villain, Judge Doom. He was also the voice of the evil sorcerer Merlock in “Ducktales The Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.”
Spawn Yeah update 2 years later.. my brother ended up eventually buying it and lending me it about a month or so after I wrote that 😂 Its still worth coming back to give switchblade Sam the breeze tho 😬😬😬
Oh my god Lloyd in this role gave me nightmares when I was a kid. I watched this movie a million times with all my friends and we'd all freak out when he'd come on the screen. Even as an adult I think wow for a kids movie they made him genuinely terrifying.
This movie is EXTREMELY underrated. Really funny all the way through, mainly because of the fantastic grump character actor Walter Matthau. It's also got Christopher Llyod in a hilarious villainous slapstick role. Plus it was directed by MICHAEL MYERS from the original Halloween 😂
Skala Darrell Godeater. Yes. Christopher Lloyd is a wonderful and very talented actor ! LIoyd played a thief in a very impressive way in this amazing movie :)
Who agrees with my comment that it would have been better if he’d done what the Chief of police said. Leave the town instead of getting caught by Dennis?😂😂
And Professor Plum in "Clue", Judge Doom in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", Uncle Fester in "The Addams Family" and "The Addams Family Values", Uncle Martin in "My Favorite Martian", etc.
@danfifepsu Small town. Everybody knows everybody. Sam's brand new pretty much. He looks like hell, and he's creeping around a park looking for an easy score. He did get one, by the way in this scene. Right when the Sheriff calls him over, he puts his big coat over the fence where a purse was hung, and then snatched it up with his coat concealing it. Later we see him walk away from his nice little conversation with the Sheriff with the purse in hand.
Movie trivia. Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson were in all 3 Back to the Future films (duh, lol) as well as this film, Dennis the Menace. However, out of all four films these two were in together, the only moment of interaction they have on screen is in Back to the Future after Lorraine tails Marty to Doc Brown's Mansion in 1955, and it's merely a hello after Marty introduces Doc to Lorraine.
@@angelobellino7591 Around the end of the movie when Dennis and Switchblade Sam are camping out, Dennis make him eat all the beans in order to retrieve the handcuff key and it’s not the most appetizing thing to watch.
@@slapshot68 he draped his coat over it to cover the purse, and then pulled his coat in front of him with the purse still inside so the cop wouldn’t see it.
slapshot68 Or maybe it's because of what the sheriff told him that he wants the town clean from 0:12-0:14 and then told him to leave town since he (Sam) looked dirty in the face and clothes.
I thought Christopher Lloyd also did a good job playing "Al" on "Angels in the Outfield", "Lawrence the Postman" on "Rent A Kid", and Shelly Duvall's husband on "Suburban Commando" as well.
daniel fife It's probably a very small town where Switchblade Sam is in and the sheriff probably knew a lot of people in that neighborhood knowing when a person moves in or moves out and he probably never saw Switchblade Sam move in to a house feeling that he snuck in from somewhere. Plus, with all of Switchblade Sam's dirty face and dirty clothes, the sheriff must have thought he was some kind of homeless person especially since the sheriff told him that he wants the town clean from 0:12-0:14 telling him to then leave town with all his dirtiness.
He was telling him in a polite way, “hey pal, this is a safe town and let’s keep it that way, you’re way too dirty and ugly to hang around here, so beat it.”
I always felt that Lloyds character was criminally underrated in this movie. As a kid this character absolutely scared the shit out of me!! Back in the 90s that was literally what stranger danger looked like to me. As an adult I feel like this very was an extremely good scene for something that was just a short exchange in a kids movie.
I think Paul Winfield he was in that show of touched by an angel with Roma Downey Della Reese and John dye rest in peace Paul Winfield I hope you have a blessed day and Jesus loves you so much Paul Winfield then you was in that movie the woman of Brewster place
Seriously? People are overanalyzing a simple mainstream comedy adaptation of a popular comic strip. I'm all for being critical, but that's not exactly what this movie is meant for.
That’s my childhood home in the background of this scene. The park is Burns field in Hinsdale, IL a suburb of Chicago. It’s on Vine Street. I tell anyone who listens lol.
Do you know what this scene shows, even through fiction? The disgust of police profiling...just because of how he's dressed? Sure, he is a criminal, but the cop doesn't know that...he assumes, based on the way he's dressed...just like they do every day.
