Hi Julie! Nothing wrong with being passionate about bags and staying passionate about bags! We understand where you're coming from. I feel the same way. It's ok, if that makes us happy! That's actually a good thing. We deserve to be happy and have our lil space. Whenever there are more important priorities, we pause. It's a struggle because there's no one right or wrong answer. There are pros and cons to everything, so yes it's not unhealthy. If anything, we should be glad that we're able to FEEL and get excited about certain things--like handbags. In my opinion, like pets, they (bags and Coach in my case🥰♥)are necessary and healthy for our psyche! 🥰♥

I love my bags, don’t think I’ll ever not love them. I’ve had to sell a few for things in life but I did it for the right reasons. Now I have 23 LV bags and I love them all and pray nothing comes up that I’d have to sell again.

Hi Julie, great topic, I totally understand your thoughts and agree. I've always loved bags...I was born this way 😊 and I think I'll always admire bags even if I don't purchase or slow down on purchasing. I feel they are works of art where I appreciate the craftsmanship, the design, the functionality, the versatility. That being said it's how I express myself, which is the reason I enjoy a variety when it comes to the quantity I have. However, other life priorities or interests have dictated how often I purchase a bag. At 54, I'm retired and I'm more mindful with each purchase. My aim is for every bag I have to bring me joy in the present (Marie Kondo) and if it doesn't, then it's time to let it go and have someone else enjoy it 😊

Some of us have the handbag gene.😅My mother had it, I have it, my sister doesn't. I'm grateful for it. It's a fun respite from life's challenges. My best friend said, "I wish I loved anything as much as you love bags."

Great video! I’m right there with you. For years I collected it all, Bags, clothes, shoes and jewelry. My bags were so out of control we had to make one of our rooms into a bag room. Then one day I snapped, and started on my minimalist path. I sold most of my collection of bags, I kept about 30. I sold around 200 pairs of shoes and tons of clothing. I’m now living my best minimalist life LOL. I still love bags but after starting my capsule wardrobe new clothes and shoes aren’t a priority at all. I’m focusing on only buying high quality garments and shoes only as needed, and keeping them longterm.

Hey Julie! Great video. I always wondered what the Sammie 21 would hold. I’ve noticed I really enjoy having these “smedium” bags on hand for special occasions, important events and just a regular downsize. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts about the direction of your handbag collection. I go back and forth about what I think the future holds but I’m always wrong🤣😂🤣 I really think as long as a handbag collector sets limits and can afford it, it’s no different than any other hobby. I can relate although I am at a very different stage in life. Currently home with 2 toddlers. I always enjoyed handbags but it never was something I could afford or even thought about pursuing until last year. I was working as a children's book illustrator but now that I have my hands full with the kids and thinking about them and my whole day being about them, I wanted to do something that has nothing to do with my kids. Expressing myself through handbags and researching them, enjoying them, learning what I like and don't like etc. It is so fun. However, I also noticed that one can very quickly go down a rabbit hole and it can start to take over. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. This is a great topic. I’ve loved bags FOREVER! One of my first purchases was an oxblood colored wallet from Wal-Mart. I’d saved up my money and then had no money to put in it….and so it began 😆. I have a comfortable collection for me but about a month ago I realized that every day I take my bag to my office take it home at lunch and take it back to work etc. Rarely reaching for anything as I keep my desk stocked with necessities ( Tylenol, lip products etc). My sister is the opposite she can go out of town for the day with just her phone and phone wallet. So I thought I’m going to try it, my husband was concerned I think 😆. For the last few weeks I’ve taken my phone and LV cles with keys to the office. When we’ve gone out of town I’ve taken a bag. Keep in mind I love minutes from my work and go home everyday for lunch. I haven’t fallen out of love with bags. Still watching videos and still looking at the Coach site everyday. So I don’t know what to think, it’s strange but light and freeing at the same time. 🤷‍♀️. Love to hear your thoughts

I’ve been a purse lady since I was 4yo. I remember my first purse! My purchasing peaked recently and now I’m on a bit of a pause but content. My problem is I have too many expensive interests; bags, makeup, skincare, hair, rescue animals, gardening etc

I love handbags and right now I’m pretty happy with the bags I have but I will still watch and admire bags. I don’t think I will ever stop loving bags but I definitely only have a handful of bags on my ever changing wishlist and once I’ve acquired them I will be content 💗

Hi Julie, interesting subject, makes me rethink about the future. But honestly, right now, I just want to live in the moment and enjoy what I love, because I don't even know if I'm going to live till 60 or 70 or 80 😅 you'll never know. But I have a feeling that the time will come where I feel like, I had enough. It's like when you were a kid, and someone ask you "what do you want to be when you grow up?" At first I thought I want to be a teacher, and when I turned teenage, it changed. If only we can see the future 😅 I wanna call it a passion rather than addiction. Addiction to me is when you loose control of your life and affected you financially until you've lost everything. That's just my opinion though 😊 tfs your thoughts and hope you enjoy the weekend! 😊❤

Great video Julie! I am working on practicing gratitude for what I do have and enjoying my collection more instead of hunting for the next bag. I don't think I will ever stop loving handbags and I don't feel guilty for it. However, the price of bags especially Coach is becoming more costly so that may force me to find other (cheaper) hobbies as well.

Thank you for your video. Some people are purse people, some are not. They absolutely can be a means of self-expression. Collecting can be fun! 😊 When things get out of whack, It's a bit different. Obsession causes people to replace other people with things. It's subtle at first, but eats away at your time and budget. There are some who have the means to pursue their obsessions, but most do not. People will deprive themselves of relationships and experiences just to chase the latest thing. And social media creates and adds to the frenzy. I'm not saying this applies to you, but I know that people have shared their experiences through social media. What you were experiencing is a desire for balance, I think. It's a wake up call and a sign of maturity. What works in one stage of life does not necessarily work in the next. It's possible to always love handbags. You can still love and care for the collection that you have, while admiring from afar. Maybe every year or two judiciously add one and weed out others. I'm only adding that in because if people really love handbags I don't if they can stop completely unless it's for financial reasons or a complete change in lifestyle.

Hi Julie, I just turned 60. It occurred to me that I plan to retire in 5 yrs and should probably stop buying bags. We love to travel ( just got back from Ireland), and once I'm retired and don't have a steady paycheck, travel will come b4 bags. I should probably be downsizing as well. I keep my collection around 25-30, but I still buy/sell and I feel like I should be paring down. I still live bags though!

I have a love/hate relationship with bags. I hate that I love them to the point where what I have has turned to excess. It’s truly no different than someone who loves shoes or clothes though. It could be more expensive, but the desire is the same. I’m searching for contentment but just put another one in a cart in one of my browser tabs 😂

Ever since I adopted the capsule wardrobe, I don't feel much need to buy clothes but feels very creative to mix and match. So now I only shop bags 😂😂😂

Hi Julie, I completely get what you’re saying. I’m at a different stage of my life and didn’t start buying nice bags till my early fifties. I do wish I’d bought a couple of high end bags earlier on but as a single mum always felt it would be irresponsible. Now I love my bags and get great joy from looking at them at using them. I’m now a bit more selective about what I buy and take my time before purchasing a bag. Love your chats.

I love handbags and I feel like the people closest to me do not care for handbags as much as I do. My daughter does but I feel I created that lol. I don’t see me changing the way I feel although it would be much easier on my pocket book. I love having influencers like yourself to share my passion with. So thank you 💕

I am 43 as well and I think my love for handbags will never stop, my mom died when I was 6 and she was a handbag lover, I have been thinking lately that its ok to love them and of course we have other hobbies is just that now because of social media we can share our love , its like a bookclub haha (books are another passion for me) I hope you have a great day !! 😊

I often think if I had to go down to 3 bags could I narrow it down? Or even 5. I could but it would be a tough one. 😂 I am handbag crazy and my friends are clothes crazy. I maybe purchase a couple items a year but really don’t love shopping or hunting for clothing or shoes.

Yes I feel like that all the time ❤ I think a big part of it sometimes is just having too many bags to manage, style and care for. The idea of purse peace and finally finding the one bag that makes us want to stop shopping 🤷 …. but then the next thing comes out I’m drawn right back in 😂 You may always love handbags and you may wake up one day and just feel “over it” and that will be ok if it happens or if it doesn’t. I think if you use your bags, it’s all good. It’s when bags become “collections” to admire that it gets unhealthy imo. And whenever I’m getting a little obsessed I think back to a video I once saw where a realtor was running around town with her Hermes Kelly bag, kind of tossing it about and she said something like it’s cool to have it but if your dreaming of one, know that although it’s Hermes it’s still just a bag. I say that to myself sometimes when I miss out on something or feel fomo - It’s just a bag … idk it helps me keep some perspective.
