@@revoltosotintan ¿celoso?

The humbleness of Cantinflas, he did not say yes to the greatest actor in mexico when he was asked, yet he is one of the greatest of all time probably the best that mexico has ever given to the world.👏
This man wasn’t humble. He knew of his greatness and he wasn’t afraid to show it. If he looked humble here was por su educación, nadamas, perdón si suena en forma de ataque, esa no fue mi intención fue en forma de clarificar
@@deljugo And as huge a celebrity as he was, had Michael Todd not died in that plane crash, he might have been as huge as say, Michael Jackson. His appearance in Around The World in 80 Days gave the non-Spanish speaking public a scant glimpse into his greatness.
@@lucysyd2159 its literally impossible, he makes up words and puns that only Spanish speaking peoplel can understand. If literally translated won't make sense or won't be funny.
Cantinflas is an Icon in Latin America. The type of comedy he performed would have had a bigger and greater impact in hollywood if He would have been able to speak english more fluently. But the truth is... His english was very poor and it frustrates me that north american audiences didn't get to know his unique and authentic charm at performing comedy which it was the kind of " talk too much and really say nothing at all" in the funniest way. The Royal Spanish Academy recognizes and adds to the vocabulary the verb "cantinflear"-To speak in a silly and nonsensical manner, without meaning (after Cantinflas). So, I've watch many international hollywood comedians that are great but in my opinion (and because I understand both english and spanish) He is the best of all. Translating Cantinflas movies to english wouldn't even be as funny because you have to be born and raised in the spanish culture to be able to understand him.
***** Yes, you're right!. And most of the time He would change the script and improvise because He (Mario Moreno) knew what Cantinflas really needed to say in his own unique way.
Gilbarwaters Do you understand his way to speak Spanish? , because the main problem is that when the traslator try to traslate from crazy spanish to English in his movies was not possible to match what exactly he is saying and this the reason that Cantiflas couldn`t show his taled to the rest of the world.
As a cuban, artist like Cantiflias make me feel very proud. He was a true gentleman and represented the Latino heritage extremely well.
The Internet is a world that still surprises me, the greatest Mexican comedian of all times: Cantinflas. Thanks for sharing this clip. Greetings from Panama in Latin America.
I've been addicted to this program since the first one I saw. I've watched from the beginning in chronological order until now. I've given a thumb's up to those saying it was the day before, the day of, the day after their birthdays. I've waited a long time to say this, "I was one day old when this show aired!" I've joined the WML? "It's my birthday!" club, and am giddy with excitement!!
Wow!
Growing up I remember my dad watching Cantinflas all the time. When I was younger I understood some but not all of the humor, I still always found him funny especially when he would dance. I now understand all of it & it's even funnier now.
What a small world my mom told us a Iot of Cantinflas stories about how he was a silly wild kid from the neighborhood never believed untill I met him and asked for his autograph he rembered my sweet mom
In voice of my grandmother, he was a jocker, pervert, lier, stupid ignorant, two faces, and with his caracter of cantinflas he only was diminishing to the mexicans poor people,,, in this TV program, im sure he was elevated in his own foolish pride, stupid old guy... so patetic, answering in french or russian, jajajaja, he didn´t know even a little english..
@@rauhertz2755 he answered in another languages because his voice is very recognizable, so he tried to deceived the panel by not guessing based on his voice, otherwise the game would’ve been over in matter of minutes. I think that’s how it happened, with the first “no” he said, everyone started to guess his voice, specially the lady who asked the final question 🤣
@@rauhertz2755 Why so much hate bro? I read other comments here from you and all I see is pure trolling and hate. I hope all your hate towards a dead legend satisfies your soul.
What a great show: Iconic personalities, funny moments, and best of all, refined and proper English spoken. Too bad no longer the standards of today's TV.
That's the one I heard in Mexico City: con-TEEN-flas. My grandfather once saw him there while visiting, Cantinflas was doing a show in one of the major parks there. The audience was huge.
It's pronounced as its spelled, just like every other word in Spanish. "Cantinflas" is an amalgamation of the words "cantina" (bar) and "inflas" (inflates) which means he would fill himself up with drinks at bars. Oddly enough, in an ironic twist, his character of Cantinflas was a man of high morals and would rarely be seen inebriated in his performances.
Well no :-) ....whatever might be the rest of it, the last syllable definitely is not "flaws" but more like "flahss" -- and yes, as you say, say it FAST.
Mr. Heintz was great. Being born in 1882 can you imagine the major events and inventions that he saw come to fruition in his life. Thanks for the video.
For non spanish speakers, Cantinflas was an HUGE movie star, with millions of followers. I dare to say he was probable more popular than David Niven himself, whom worked as the protagonist of Around The World In 80 days.
Mark Richardson I meant to say my comment was directed for non Spanish speakers. A lot of his humor was about the way he used to speak, like Groucho Marx, so most of English speakers don’t know about him. His character was a rascal, poorly dressed, always looking for job (similar as Chaplin’s Charlotte), illiterate, but he always got away with his wittiness, speaking nonstop without making any sense whatsoever, twisting or making up words, confusing people and appearing smart in his ignorance. He was one of a kind.
@Mark Richardson he's considered to be the greatest comedian not only in Mexico, but in the entire world according to the legendary comedic actor Charlie Chaplin. He was right.
Like you if skipped forward just to see my homie Cantinflas ❤❤❤ I am Central American but he was the GREATEST Mexican Actor to ever walk on this earth.
@@tormentadeabril5 It’s not better, it just has exclusivity...it excludes Brazil and other countries where they speak a language that comes from Latin. Example: Mexicans are Hispanic and Latin, Brazilians are Latin but not Hispanic.

I just saw a video we're they said they humiliated cantinflas. But they seemed respectful, and even tho he didn't know much english he seemed to understand parts of the question and answered with a simple yes or no. The host is also very patient and respectful. Such beautiful show and with good people. Now a days show aren't the same
Well, the good parts - life was pretty grim for some, no matter how hard they worked, and if they got sick they would be lucky not to starve. I think of him more as a man who found something he loved doing and determined to do it as long as possible.
Cantinflas was very popular in Spain too...Dorothy Killgallen a fantastic newspaper woman always defending the true :-) we love you Dorothy defending Spain from marxist conspirations
Cantinflas--still my favorite comedian. Also, I love how this individuals speak--not only in general, but towards one another. They act very cultured and low key.
It’s a shame his humor did not translate well. There are things that cannot be translated. it has to do not just what is being said, also how it’s being said as well as the culture. When you are familiar with the culture and the slangs, you are able to appreciate the humor so much more. Cantinflas humor had a lot to do with the culture. He was a great actor
Sometimes not even between countries speaking the same language. There are some things he says that are so deep in mexican culture that for other spanish-speaking people are somewhat difficult to understand.
What an honor to have been that close to a Legendary comedian. Way before my time but was in our tvs since childhood. Same with El Chavo del 8. 🍻 En paz descansa Caninflas.😢
