Good buy. Upgraded from the Response Carp to the Superium Carp last year. Have been very impressed with it so far. The short no.3 really helps at longer lengths when fishing shallow. Very strong and had fish to 17-18lb down my local club lakes. Agree with comments around price point and value as when I looked around I nearly went with the X70 but decided wall strength was key. The sections still oval in the hand so have found care is still needed. The top kits are the best I’ve used and have also purchased some grey top 2’s for fishing shallow at longer lengths. Keen to see your real thoughts on the bank as I still fill it’s a great package at the 1.5k price point.
Greate video Ben top class I just gone an got the x70 picked it up today. Good poles preston hope to be testing tmrow all been well keep the video coming 👍 pal thanks. 👍
Hi always watch your content which is great to the fact I travelled from Leicester to Tackle and bait Doncaster for a Superium x50 Had issues that I genuinely know are manufacturer fault clarified by 3 independant tackle shops having travelled to Doncaster 4 hour round trip as only way to deal with Preston Customer service from Preston is politely very poor Please when reviewing products customer service on non fault issues should be a must Sorry for a moan though 😢
Sorry you had a bad customer service. In regards to mentioning each manufacturer's customer feedback you would be best to ask them on the facebook group, as luckily I rarely have needed to use any.
Ive looked at buying this myself but unfortunately at the minute finances just wont allow ... Im still using the old absolute gis 11 ... The bonus of that is i have 4 f1 short kits and the short number 3 from the superium range which fit lovely on mine Tight lines ben
Nice choice! I know a few with that same pole, they rave loads about it I was looking to upgrade to a MTX3 (I have all the top kits from my MTX2) but I could be tempted with the Preston pole after hearing how good it is
Mtx 3 mate V1 (pick them up for penanuts second hand - I just got one 2nd hand plus 9 top kits for 530 quid, it really is an upgrade from the MTX2)- Not a criticism of Ben as its a personal choice, but I have spoken to 3 anglers with the Superirum carp and they said they wished they had bought the X70. I also have a Middy M3 Margin pole for carp down the edge - anything over 8lb as I had one of the second hand top kits go on me with a foul hooked 12lb carp at Decoy (still got it in though lol.)
I've heard good and bad things about the Superium poles, So this will be interesting, I'm sure we'll find the truth out over the next couple of months, when Your fishing with it and putting it to the test on the bank, I'm really looking forward to this, i've just ordered a Edge monster from AD to take to my caravan , I would of liked to have bought the superium Margin Pole, But I wasn't sure ? Can't wait till you get it on the bank.
Hi Ben, I'm looking at upgrading to the Middy XZ65-3 but not sure I can commit to the cost, do you think it still holds up compared to other poles of that price tag? Or are there any poles under the 2k mark that might be better value?
@@Angling4UBen i agree I found the superium very heavy and uncomfortable at longer distances but thats a personal preference as to why I sold it and now have a guru aventus 700. Also opinions are like noses we all have one cheers jp
Hi. I've been contemplating a new Superium pole and was wondering as to your opinions on the following. I will never fish a 16 meters and very rarely at 14.5 so is there a big difference between the X70 and the X50 at these shorter lengths? The X50 is £500 cheaper than the X70 so there is quite a bit to be saved. I've also thought about the X20 which comes at 14.5 meters which as stated above is as long as I'll ever fish and that only costs £750. In your opinion would this pole be more than good enough for an old fella like me to fish the odd match for match sized carp and F1s in the OAP opens at Partridge Lakes, not to win anything but to just take part? I'm over 50 miles away from the nearest pole alley so it isn't easy to try one out for myself. I can't see the point of buying the 16 meter sections if they aren't ever going to come out of my holdall. What I'm asking is that at 13 meters is the X70 any better than the X50 or even the X20? Your opinions would be appreciated.
X20 - X30 or X50 would all suit your purposes, but I would also very strongly advise you to look at an Matrix MTX3 V1 second hand, which you can get for 500 to 700 quid plus top kits.
Whatever you buy.dont get the maver reality 6m . I've had one under a year and just bought my third top kit.the number two section just crumples when a decent fish is hooked. But they're all under 10lb I've just about managed to net . Absolutely horrible pole
@@davidwescott2632 I really don't understand your problem. The pole states 16m whether that's with extension or not it still measures 16m so what's the issue. I could understand if it was smaller
You won't get a better pole in the 2grand range. Get a short 3 and some f1 kits its so much more than just a carp pole. You've got the security of the strength but with lighter kits on its more than capable for silvers and f1s
@Angling4U not sure what you want to do with the pole Ben but the short 3 totally transforms the pole for my summer fishing I only use the short 3 and in winter the long 3 with 2piece f1 kits or match kits and it's more than capable of fishing for silvers great pole loads of power and it will never let you down
Just save your money and buy the adventus 700 or save up get the new Shimano the superium has a nasty kink when the top kit is on can’t really beat a Daiwa pole
accuracy & your cutting out a whole area of fishing with that comment. In your fishing a waggler may be better. For the type of fishing i do i need that accuracy.
