What about customizing SEARCH pages? What I mean is, I see that you can choose to display a custom page layout on the search page specifically, however, when I click to perform a search for a specific query the page that comes up is using my template but the data is not showing the item I searched for but rather ALL THE RESULTS. Do you have a video on how to work with search pages? This is confusing me as I don't know how to get the results to match up like the detail WP search page does.
Adding a new CTA block to any or all posts with the custom page builder is so handy, now that it’s built into Astra instead of requiring an exterior page builder plugin which slows down our sites… excellent!
In your tutorial, you talk about making sure Astra Pro has been updated to 4.5, and then you say after you've updated both. What is the other thing I need to ensure I have updated, other than Astra Pro?
Does sitebuilder’s header/footer functionality replace the functionality and need for the Astra header/builder option? As new features come out, it would be nice if there was a note on whether we should use the new functionality over the old. Thanks for all the great features.
Its not going to replace the Header/ Footer in the Theme customizer. Astra Sitebuilder is for Pro users who wish to create some custom header/footer or other templates. Conventional theme customizer option remains as it is.
@@BrainstormForce Thanks. So, the header / footer builder does not have any targeting capabilities. It would be nice to have the header/builder capabilities and also targeting options. My understanding is that it you can only user the builder or use the site builder for header / footers. I am not a developer and only have a single site but the flexibility of changing the header / footer is really a nice feature.
You skip the part about activating Site Builder in Astra Pro. That is a huge thing that caused me a lot of grief, deleting and restoring things because I thought I had done something incorrectly. I had Astra theme and Astra Pro updated to the most recent versions, and until I Googled and found out that I had to go into Astra Pro and actually activate Site Builder, it never showed up when I hovered over Astra in the WordPress dashboard. This needs to be corrected in your video. Other than that, your tutorial is excellent.
I fell in love with the Astra the moment I knew it. The fact that its pro version could be used on unlimited sites together with three other plugins(wp portfolio, schema and convertpro) made it very appealing. But you guys updated your pricing removing these options. Am still in love with it just feel its alot pricier now.
This feature (previously called Custom Layouts) was the main reason I chose Astra for our latest site. It’s such a great feature. Please consider letting us add custom classes and set the element type (header, section, div etc.) of the layouts themselves.
Karl if using Spectra, why not just add this tag to the Spectra container? The option is there for containers "HTML Tag" and includes all the tags you mentioned?
@@adampreiser Thanks for following up. That’s my solution today, though I use the native group block instead of Spectra’s container block. The main reason I’d like it as a part of the Astra theme builder is to get a better overview over theme builder elements (and maybe even in the future be able to filter on different element types). Getting rid of an unnecessary div wrapper is also always nice.
Hi mate, great tutorial, thanks for this! I was wondering if you could show us how to create that hover effect over the navigation titles? Do we have to go on CSS for this? 6:04
This is AWESOME! One quick question.. kinda dumb Q ;-) If I am using Astra Theme with Spectra Pro, do we have these features in there as well or should I install Astra Pro on top of Spectra Pro?
