Excited for the new rules, but how is the Asterian faction command that recharges shields going to be handled? Only being able to regen shields once a turn for the whole army is a massive nerf, unless there will be other faction commands that will also charge shields...? Shields are just so fundamental to the way that force works. Most of the other changes seem good and well thought out, especially the limit on extra activation at the start of each round.
Sounds very cool, and like there's a lot that's changed. Being as Firefight is my first Mantic game, I'm unfamiliar with how you handle rules updates like these. How will these rules changes be distributed?
I do not understand the change to force organisation. It needed to be made clearer, instead of this. I also don't understand why steady aim will be a thing when this hurts flying units
as they say it is similar as in KoW, there the number of how many times you can take the same unit depends on the points played (like 2 times the same unit of below 1000 points) and certain units have a 0-1 or 0-2 limit
Those kinds of limitations to force building were needed for balance. As for steady aim, it introduces a larger decision space to the game and compliments the other options of move and shoot, hit the dirt and shoot, or overwatch and shoot. Saying steady aim hurts flying units isn't really any different than saying hit the dirt hurts flying units, as that is something they can't do either. Gameplay wise and thematic wise, steady aim not being a thing flying units can use just makes sense.
Why there is no spanish channel talking more about mantic games? making tutorials of how to play kings of war, deadzone, firefight... oh wait! there is one! MINE!!! C'mon Mantic lets work together! I do not how to contact with you!!!
This looks really great. I'm a long term Warpath player and been on a wargaming hiatus. I was really interested in Firefight, but looks like it's worth waiting a couple of months for this to land
