Mixed media is becoming very popular and Limber 2's precomp limbs are perfect for it, because you can add multiple layers into them and get a stop-frame or collage style, without having a 100 layers in your comp.

Is making characters with line work easier than it was before? I struggled learning that with the previous version. Maybe I’ll try again soon

There are a few different approaches to it which does make it seem complicated. One way we've made it easier is with the new, expanded limb library - it has over 100 limbs in, and you can filter them to 'Outline' - of which there are currently 42. These limbs have controls to vary the stroke width, change its color, allow it to scale with the character (or not), and so on. So hopefully, for a lot of cases, you won't need to go and rig a limb yourself, you can just use one of the presets.

Anything is possible but it's very unlikely we'd do that. I've tried the automation options in other tools and always found it sub-par in terms of the quality of the result. I'm sure we would do a better job if we put our minds to it, but it's a path I have no enthusiasm for. We're in this business to help people make good animation and feel the reward and sense of fun in doing that. I believe that the value in that process comes across in the output, and ultimately has more economic value than something automated that anyone with the same tool can reproduce in minutes.

@@animatabledotco I completely agree, especially with the possibilities that Limber allows (especially this new version). My comment was because sometimes you need to take a quick walk and I think it would be practical not to have to leave Limber to do it. Thank you for your response and your work.

Absolutely. If you bought it since May 1st 2024 the upgrade is basically the difference between the old and new price. If you bought it before then, it's 20% off.
