Admitting AJF into any program is a mistake by the program. He is unable to control his ego and he'll bring shame to wherever he goes. College wrestling isn't WWE, and it shouldn't be.

Maybe I'm an old prude. But I always felt wrestling was above that kind of stuff. Times are changing.

It takes a room full of studs to make a great room, and 1 a'hole to mess it all up. AJ missed the window to grow up.

Iowa is so desperate to compete with PSU Brands will put up with anything. If ferarri ends up in the room it will hurt iowa. He is all about himself and not a team guy. The hawkeyes won a title with classy young men like kemmerer, young, marinelli, and wilcke. Why would you be willing to go from that to ferarri? Desperation?

I started wrestling when I was 5 1/2 years old. I had an attitude problem (ego) until I had great coaches set me straight. The difference is I learned to right the ship in high school not when I wrestled in college. Wresting has always been a sport where we battle but we generally have the utmost respect for one another once the final whistle blows. He is a disgrace to the sport in my opinion regardless of his level of talent. We do not need these antics in wrestling. For those that claim we do please go participate in another sport.

His corner, looked like Daniel Dennis and the Bull, seemed frustrated with him throughout the match. His attitude may jeopardize his talent at some point. This was a teammate and essentially his new home town crowd.

I don't have an opinion. The match put me to sleep long before the antics went down.

AJ is for himself. Even his brothers would suffer from his suffocating ego at Iowa. AJ is a cancer to any team. Not an Iowa fan but I hope Brands doesn't think twice about AJ.

The spanking thing reminds me of a former US stud breaking a kid who ended up a 2 time NCAA champ. Many years past his prime he did an open, wrestled with a pot belly up several weights and embarrassed one of the top D1 guys of the day. Spanked him when he wasn't working up to his base.

Next year Iowa could have 3 Ferraris, Gabe Arnold, Ben Kaueter(sp). Kennedy and Caliendo at 157/ 165. Ayala still in the mix. That could be a podium team. Penn State will still be tough.

I’m an Iowa Homer and big wrestling fan. Not happy with the over the top crazy behavior. When Angel Reese chased Caitlin Clark at the end of the NCAA final game Iowans including myself went berserk. Can you imagine if Angel would have flipped the bird? How does he get away with this?

I think we're witnessing the collapse of the brands era. They're recruiting, it appears, out of desperation and not likely to match up with PSU.

If AJ ends up in Iowa, I sure hope it happens before Feb 9th so we can get to watch Brooks stomp his ego into the ground three times in a row.

Great commentary about misconduct, flagrant misconduct, and the aftermath. This might play well in WWE or even the UFC but not at the Soldier Salute. You have to understand the context to be a citizen, athlete, and even an entertainer.

As a HS ref now, these NCAA refs MUST call this stuff. The HS kids are copying what they see at the ncaa level. Its abhorrent and unacceptable. I can't imagine any big program taking a chance on them now. Their best bet would be to go to a D1 school like Rider or a smaller school where they aren't worried about top recruits committing elsewhere by having them.

What's next? What's next is Ferrari joins the Hawkeyes. Brands would welcome the devil himself to the team for 20 team points at NCAAs. The hilarity is that PSU is still going to steamroll them despite how much trash Brands brings onto the team.

I think it's transparent that he's pumping his brand, no pun intended. Some have cited training MMA, but the style over the weekend is suitable to WWE, which is what I think he's angling for. In the meantime, a lot of fans would love to have a bunch of heels to root for/against at Iowa; I just don't think it's good for the sport. Contrary to a certain belief, it won't net more wrestling fans. The only people talking about this are already watching.

The Ferrari appraisal is in. At 149 it has a decent paint job, but NOTHING under the hood. At 197 it had no horsepower, a lot of rust, & no control

AJ's a punk. Desanto, punk. Spencer mashed his teammate's head in the mat after beating him, didn't wrestle back when he lost in NCAAs. Marinelli, disappointment. Glazier didn't carry himself well here either. Problems mindset-wise in that wrestling room. All I know is you won't see this sort of s*** at PSU or OSU. It's an embarrassing circus the Brands created and lost control of.

One of the major components that are being overlooked here are the 2 absolutely horrible stall calls on AJ. Now AJ should’ve never reacted the way he did but these calls were the beginning of the end. For those that haven’t seen it, I urge you go to back and watch these calls an open mind. Now that you know the outcome, it definitely changes the way you’ll view these calls. But watching it live, it was really tough to see these two blatantly calls. 🙏🏼

AJ needs to spend less energy on posing, flexing, and loafing during the match. His match-delaying antics of pulling up his socks, adjusting his singlet, wandering to his corner for advice, and constantly changing sides when getting set in the top position should not be tolerated. AJ will bully most guys based on his strength alone. If he gets pushed and is denied extra in-match breathers, he's beatable. The post-match antics must not become acceptable behavior in college wrestling.

It’s only a matter of time before AJ wins over countless people who are hating on him right now. We’ve seen this sort of thing time and time again. People can be fickle.
