What's Next for Canada's ONLY Super Team in Alpha Flight #5 

Thanks for covering Alpha Flight. One of my favorite comics in Marvel!

Alpha Flight has always started off strong then flops at the end.

It should have been better but the problem with Alpha Flight is they don't have a good villain as a foil for them. Find a way to create the Canadian version of the Masters of Evil and that would help.

I get that you didn’t read Alpha Flight back in the 80’s, but I really don’t get all the hate for Heather Hudson. She had a very good story arc with tragedy and rebirth. But if you want to reduce her story to being just milk toast, that sounds a bit more like a you problem.

This feels like a series that was originally intended to be an ongoing but got reclassified as a miniseries at some point which would explain why so much plot got left on the proverbial cutting room floor

Growing up in Michigan right across from Canada on Lake Huron and the St Clair River I loved Alpha Flight. Still do . Hopefully this team gets another book soon

To me, a lot of Alpha Flight series always seem to start off strong but then sorta peeter off. Maybe it’s because I see so much potential for stories with each team I expect more? 🤷🏿 but man! I remember this REALLY good run they had when they were beefin with Zodiac and mfs like Sasquatch were dying these hard battle deaths to save newbie members, but looking back even THAT was a story mostly told in backups or like one off series that you sorta just lost attention to after a while. But there was so much mystique and subterfuge political intrigue stories with their org, it was like a mix of reading a Weapon X comic mixed w/Xmen you know? Anywhoo, thanks Blerd for posting this. My 12 year old nephew on my wife’s side is Canadian so I bought him some Alpha flight books and my wife was joking that I was only partial to the books because of family and I’m pleading wit’er like “No! You don’t get, you’re just a plus, I was the only kid in the Bmore reading this comic about this random ass Canadian superhero team but THAT just shows how good it is! ” but she swear I’m fakin 😂

Defo ended as if they are intending to set up more things, but like you said Alpha Flight often ends up falling in the abyss for long periods. Also have a question on those collars on the AF members in prison. Surely if the suppress powers Puck should be back to his 7 foot old man status and Snowbird has powers that are naturally hers as a God character and surely Shan could still do magic collar or not. Hate how so many mechanical devices in comics are just able to perform the craziest of feats with little to no explanation how, other than, oh the just can.. looking at you Nimrod and Super Adaptoid

Talisman does magic and perhaps used a spell to make people not recognize her.

How is the original AF team in any type of lock up with Snow Bird there? Couldn’t she just morph into the white Sasquatch and liberate the team? Her Sas form was strong enough to beat Walter way back when on one of his rampages. They should resurrect and use the white Sasquatch more even if Walter has lost his ability to change. She can always change into Sasquatch if she wanted.

Personally I wanted to see Goblyn and Pathway or Murmur. I liked it but it could have been a lot better.

I'm old I remember

This was a good read, though underwhelming as I was expecting more. The ending does set up for them to appear in other titles that are dealing with Orchis. But sadly I think they'll be forgotten about as this story continues. Also I'd be down for Heather returning as Vindicator then Nemesis. Didn't Marrina have 4 kinds with Namor while in that giant sea beast form? Even if they don't bring back resurrection, which I hope they don't, doesn't mean Marvel will stop bringing back characters.

60% of the world lives in Asia. We barely have any representation other than Jubilee on a major level or Dust in very miniscule level as popular Comic Book characters. Plus, with how diminished Jubilee is shown as fragile is disappointing. They should scale her to Omega by adding new arcs. Plus, there are close to 1.7 billion South Asians and Kamala Khan is the only major Marvel character who represents us. We need so much more.
