My mom was on Ibrutinib for almost 3yrs and then her white blood cell count began to rise again. Now she has to get intravenous chemo 😥 so we feel like Ibrutinib didn't help at all.
I was diagnosed with unmutated CLL/SLL nearly two months ago now and they want to treat me with chemotherapy but I am fighting to try to gain access to ibrutinib instead because the risks of chemo are major.
I suggest you keep fighting until you get what you want! They have plenty of novel drugs to treat CLL and you shouldn't go through the hell of chemo... I went through two years ago and I'm still dealing with the consequences and side effects... Extreme reactions to one of the drugs (Rituximab), 0.0 neutrophils for months, blood transfusions, platelettes transfusions, auto immune disorders, months in hospital, ever lasting fevers of unknown origins, skin cancers popping up like mushrooms (so far I had 4 surgeries to remove 17 of them), and in July I'll have to have another surgery... I wish you good luck from the bottom of my heart and I hope someone will satisfy your request. Research drugs like Venetoclax and Acalabrutinib (new generation of Ibrutinib), or try to get into a clinical trial that offers those solutions...
