Yeah - it's not like a garage band. There was a lot of money and people's livelihood on the line. Good luck on your 'careers' guys cuz the industry will want nothing to do with you.
@@naturalianossThey can't because he basically *is* AILD. He writes all the stuff for the band. But it's clear that there still is something very wrong with him, even tho he showed remorse for what he did years ago.
There's literally a question mark in the title, it's a question. Now, if the title was "What's REALLY Going On with As I Lay Dying." you'd have a point.
Bro that scene of tim not apologising with the band around him is so awkward. They all look like theyre at a friends house, and their mate is currently getting told off by dad, just looking at the floor lol.
I can tell this- I’ve been in a situation where everyone around me in business started leaving. It was the hardest thing to admit, but I was the problem. No one else. It took me ages to finally admit it. Once I did, I turned things around and now I’ve got people who WANT to be around me. Tim is the problem here, no one else. You don’t have that many people distancing themselves from you for no reason
They are running away from something way bigger. Not only band members but manager also. Tim probably did something that is recorded and it will surface soon. I guess it's a video of beating his wife.
I don’t know a ton about AILD, but I have followed Ken Susi’s career for a long time. That guy is a real professional, and to quit before a tour is a big deal for him. Can’t imagine what has happened…
@@christianolmeda I can't imagine going to an unearth show and not seeing Ken doing push-ups onstage. He needs to be in that band. Same with all the other guys. My favorite drummer of theirs was Kerswill also
I was one of the people that was like "Tim has changed, I'll give him a 2nd chance." Idk about it now. He's definitely the common denominator in the issues.
Yeah, that would be really good. Shane Blay, Nick Hipa, Josh Gilbert, and Jordan Mancino would be free to perform at their peak again without Tim Lambesis weighing them down.
I love As I Lay Dying, but let's be honest. How is anyone supposed to play alongside a dude who was in jail for trying to kill his wife? Whatever the reason was, I'd stay away.
Guaranteed Timmy got greedy and wasn’t paying out the other members for their efforts on recent tours, writing, and probably more specifically the newest record so they bounced.
That's how I found them as a child. Growing up in a religious household, P.O.D & as I lay dying were great gateways to the heavier stuff I listen to today.
And people laughed at me saying that "Tim has changed, I was crazy for understanding Ryan's point of view." Think about it from the perspective of those who have to be in their shoes, knowing what their band leader is capable of doing. You're constantly in a never ending vicious cycle of struggle, not being able to be yourself, contribute to the music, afraid to speak up about how you feel, out of fear of "rocking the boat." It's not just about whether or not you can play the music, or contribute to the band, it's also down to who your band members are, how you are with them while touring. Being in that environment is like being in a constant state of stress, when you can't communicate with your band leader, you just suppress your emotions, it just siphons any enjoyment out of being in that band. Tim is very controlling, manipulative, he has not changed at all. This current update proves what I've been trying to explain. Tim had a second chance here, third chance if you can't the reunion of the og line up. Tim has had plenty of chances to prove himself.
I don’t get how Ronnie Radke is constantly hated on but this dude is not? Lol. I like AILD music I didn’t know the singers past. Other members who quit need to say what he did if it hurt someone else 🤷🏼♀️
Not a fan of Ronnie never have been but you made a true statement, Ronnie isn't half as bad as Tim who literally tried to have his ex-wife murdered. Ronnie at this point seems more like an internet troll at best.
@@ryanbobadilla2527 celebs have done far worse, and don't get near as much flak as Tim. Dude was roided up, did his time and people always come back to it. Find a new horse.
@@cousinit1686 I’m not for cancelling people at all but I don’t think that’s one I would over look 🤣 I’d listen to his music but being close to him on a personal level? No way. I’d never trust someone who was caught and did time for murder for hire. Maybe it’s cause im a girl. But im glad you guys backed me up here!
One of my favorite bands as a teen. Saw them in 06 live. I got Shadows are security skull tatted on my left shoulder. Once I heard what Tim had attempted to do. I lost all respect form him and stopped following the band for good. I completely understand why the other guys left and why they continue to leave. It's unfortunate for the other musicians because this puts a dent on their ability to make a living. I feel pretty comfy for not paying much attention upon the bands return as I had a gut feeling things would go South.
Same here - I was obsessed with them in high school (early-to-mid 00's) and even into university, but as soon as the murder for hire stuff went down I immediately disengaged and couldn't fathom why anyone would give Tim the attention he desperately craves...
I can understand Phil waiting before leaving. He has the most to lose than the rest of them when it comes to financial status since he's been there the longest. I can't fault him for trying to make sure his family is taken care of. Must be some pretty bad shit if everyone is leaving before an album release and a tour coming up.
And I hate that. I hear AILD WAAAAAAY back in the day, and I really do think they were the pioneers for what 2000s metalcore became to be. I hate to see them dissolve like this, but I'm even surprised they reformed in the first place after Tim's release.
Impossible. They would have to feature Evan White, Jeremy Rojas and Noah Chase come back to this band, besides Jordan Mancino for the official original line up reunion.
These statements are so damning. It's really sounds like a bomb is about to drop in regarding to some fuck up shit is happening. Seems unlikely, but any chance they could completely scrap the album release?
Something weird is going on, because if you search it, Shaped by Fire comes up, but only with 8 of the songs. It's missing Torn Between and at least 1 other (Blinded?). But you're right, the album isn't on their page anymore
Based on the Pasta show comments, sounds like the band members were right. Sorry, but singers LOVE to try to call shots and screw things up, especially when they have zero musical experience, they want to make the song "theirs" as if the role of the other musicians is to produce THEM a song instead of making a full band song, and everyone putting their piece in. it's so common, we call it "lead singer syndrome" or "frontman syndrome." I've loved this band since I was a kid 96 Hours is a straight up classic, I was SO excited to hear about the come back. I don't care about drama usually so I didn't even hear about their signer being arrested before. But it sounds like, as unfortunate as it is, that the singer is screwing things up. Same thing happened to Emmure, except those guys were VERY vocal on what a piece of trash that vocalist is.
This band has gotten me Through Struggle it's sad to see it all fall apart in just 94 Hours. I hoped they could build a Greater Foundation with this new lineup but now that everyone has Departed except Tim we're left Without Conclusion and have to find Meaning in Tragedy.
Same😢 I'm Tim's Defender but maybe he's Repeating Yesterday. Perhaps we should accept that there's just Nothing Left of the og AILD and cope with The Pain of Separation
My guess is this is an Axl Rose-esque situation. With revenue for bands ever shrinking, TL probably wanted sole rights for anything AILD with the rest of the members being considered hired talent and only entitled smaller touring and session fees. It could also be that TL is only sorry he got caught and everyone is starting to see that. To me, his body language always made me believe his apologies were insincere. Just my opinion.
Agree with this, was going to comment that with the new album and tour coming up, the neweer members were likely made aware that they were hired guns rather than actual members therefore would be paid far less than if they were full members.
I’m all for giving people, even people who’ve committed the crimes that he did. We all should have a chance to be forgiven but you’ve gotta mean it. Unfortunately in Tim’s case, it’s not looking so good. With both past and present company walking out because of similar sounding reasons, it sounds as if Tim has been causing drama within the group. So for now until I hear more about what’s going on if, if I ever do, I’m holding my judgement. I respect their decisions to keep most of it behind closed doors but it does make it hard for the public to really know what is happening in detail. It’s not really our business anyway but for now I do agree it ain’t looking good for Tim.
It indeed could have been the greatest second chance for the band. They all were wonderful musicians. The only thing that can save them is if the og lineup reunites, which is highly unlikely. If Phil leaves, it's all done.
With over 14 years as a towel boy for AILD, it's with a heavy heart that I too, will be departing from the band. Thank you all so much for all the fun times!!! It was a wild ride.
the only AILD album I ever liked was "Shadows Are Security", that album goes so hard, however, Tim Lambesis has derailed any hopes of me ever being a fan again. The upcoming mystery allegation has to be much more sinister than the murder for hire, I can only imagine!
Shadows Are Security, and An Ocean Between Us. They're their best bodies of work to me personally, everything else they released after those two albums were not memorable to me in anyway. "Shadows Are Security" is the album that took my music listening trajectory to another level at the point in life (15 year old me) had never heard something so moving and it awoke and moulded what I listen to today. With all that said though I can say that I am not a fan of "As I Lay Dying" but rather I like two of their albums which seems to be an oxymoron in itself.
I thought Neff would leave, because Miss May I seemed like they had a plan of reducing their tour schedule -- but not to the degree that it would allow him to tour full time with AILD. But Nick and Ken's statements are very telling.
So, is Tim doing Tim's things again? Thats sad. Btw, i just saw Mudvayne live for the first time here in Brazil the last weekend and they kick so much ass live! One of the best shows i've ever seen! I hope they come soon
I don't have access to their later music after 2012 on Tidal now. Not sure what's going on. I have access to songs released in 2024, but nothing from 2013-2023.
Ever since he went to prison, I haven't been able to listen to the band without actually feeling guilty and it has ruined their music for me and it hurts. Man. I grew up with this band and I loved them. Tim has ruined a part of my childhood and I don't know if I'll ever get over that
It sounds like a whole lot of turmoil and dysfunction. With this much chaos, I wonder why someone doesn’t come out and speak the truth and expose whatever is going on versus semi vague statements.
This is why I only play guitar for recreation, I loved playing music with my friends because we get along, to be in a band you have to be FRIENDS. Not coworkers, it's really not that hard to be friendly and trustworthy
I knew tim a few years ago, he contacted me. At first i thought i was being catfished but then he video called from his bed in hospital. It surprised me how open he was and quick to trust, ultimately, a stranger on the internet. But he always avoided - that subject -. He comes across quite full of himself and narcissistic. He told me he wrote and composed most of the music as he is a guitar player himself. So i think if he can find people who want to carry out his vision there will always be a band. But things have changed a lot, even in the last few years and you can't really get away with the same shit you could a few years ago.
Can we get all these people to form a supergroup? All the people who's full bands repeatedly quit on them. It would be Al Mumin (The Haarp Machine) and Michael Keene (The Faceless) on guitar, Tim Lambesis on vocals, who am I missing on bass and drums?
I just recently started listening to this band and reading about their previous history on Wikipedia hurt my brain enough as it is but after hearing this it seems like they might just need to call it quits completely on this band. I guess turmoil does lead to great music though cuz I've liked most of what I've heard from them.
It's apparently because there is a video of Tim beating his wife about to come out. He might very well be facing new charges. The band is cooked, can't believe Timmy did it again.
Wild to see this band crumble again… At this point it seems pretty clear that if AILD stays active, it will be dealing with constant turnover outside of Tim.
I am curious what Phil Sgrosso has to say, since he stayed after the first wave of departures. Sucks though, def not a popular take, but I was kinda rooting for AILD to make a comeback.
