I love what it does for shading!

YES! I prefer shading over sheen, and this paper is FANTASTIC for shading

Look for patterns in where it becomes “fuzzy” I found that my hand oils were getting into the paper from how I rest my palm when righting. It seems the paper is a little too good at soaking things up!

Yup for the folks who do the tiny tight style of print/writing its wont be their favorite. I finding I use this paper more for journaling. So smooth, makes colours pop in whole new ways, and just gives a great tactile feedback.

Might have to bust out the microscope and give it a look. I record off my phone (and edit too) and the camera is terrible! So I manually adjust things afterwards in the edit to get it around where I figure it is according to my eyes anyways.

@@Doodlebud that is wild. Idk if you use Android, but if so there is a free and great app called Open Camera, has a blue camera icon. You can adjust color temp, white balance and other settings and lock them in. Did you know that blue is cut way down for mid priced cameras and lower, including phones because it reveals the blue blood vessels in skin too well. That's why turquoise and teal inks look wrong on most videos. The same cameras also include blurring to cut back on wrinkles. I used to have to use a lemon colored paint Swatch card to set my white balance to get my colors to show up accurately. It's amazing, when you think about it, how in such a short time, you've changed the fountain pen community so much for the better. It's channels like yours that showcase what human beings can do for each other and what many of us are like in real life. The negative gets exaggerated, it's just nice to see the truth for a change. Whether you do that video or not, thank you for sharing all the cool stuff.

This has just been me having fun with my pens and sharing how I lean on my science/engineering background no matter what I'm doing. Happy that some people enjoy what I have to share

@@nitina8564 thank you kindly for sharing this information! I’ve never heard of any of these brands, so I appreciate you presenting some new options. It would be wonderful to find a worthy replacement for Tomoe River that is also more budget friendly. I’ll definitely be looking into these brands you’ve suggested & hopefully get to try them out! Do you have a favorite among them all? Or a suggestion for someone like me who loves shading/sheen/shimmer?

Yup not the best if you really need/like a fine line, but its really lovely to use when doing some nice cursive writing and a wider point is ok. Enjoyed this paper with the stub nib!

I also got that Ritma carbon, with F nib. I'm glad I got it, as it helped me figure out my ideal pen weight, which would be well below this heavy hunk. Nib is amazingly smooth. If only I could get that nib in a lighter body.

They carry Tomoe River as well, but this is a seperate paper all together. And yes, it's been a lovely perk of the channel 😉

@@Doodlebud I stand corrected Sir. I didn't know they used another paper. All I ever saw was them using TR. They're pretty expensive though, not that the price is much different from many others. Wish there were more A4 sizes though, or something between A5 and A4. A5 is too small for me.

The performance of the paper and made in India stamp makes me think it’s sugar cane paper. I’m going to have to try it out.

@@InktronicsBlog Sugarcane paper??? Never heard of such a thing, but damn intriguing. Some Indian stationary is also making paper from cotton. Not a new thing, but I wonder what else can be turned into paper? Bamboo? Pine needles? Personally, one hasn't tasted juice, until they have a cold glass of sugarcane juice.

@@ironmic9244 yeah, I hady first experience with it when I bought a reem from Staples. Bagasse paper is what it's actually called. Taken from what's left after the cane is processed for the sugar. It's supposed to be eco friendly too.

@@Doodlebud Yes, that is what gives paper it’s smoothness. If you look at paper that uses only pulp, it is very rough from just being fibers. Clay, other additives and how it is processed transform it into the paper we all know and use.

The Muji paper is really great. Regalia is very smooth, shows off sheen, shading, and colour with greater intensity. It does however increase the line width of a nib, usually about 1 size larger (eg F ->M)
