Since 2017 there have been spotted Scania S730 that are registered in the Swedish "Trafikverket" with 637KW of power = 854 HP. This trucks have been spotted in both Norway and Sweden and its highly likely that this figure will be the next range topper.

According to me and what i've heard, it would be 770hp (47 round hp/L) and 3700 Nm (226 round Nm/L); and in this way Scania would keep the 4.8 torque/power ratio of the current R/S 730 However great video!

Hello Stavros. Great video as ever. I started driving a new G500 back in April. It replaced a 171 R520. Good machine so far. Can't complain. It's comfortable(even with the "long day cab"). Pulls very well on fuel delivery work. Most importantly, it's 900kgs lighter than the V8 520. Keep up the great work Stavros 👍👍👍.

Hi let me gusse you work for Fleming transport the g500 is a nice truck but the 171-D _16204 is the beast for extra she is both a day and sleeper cab the new g500 s are only day cab I like the Fleming transport scania V 8s but I like the new g500 s but the r520 s are the best in the Fleming transport fleet

I think Scanias next flagship V8 will be 800 because they want to make a much stronger engine than Volvos 750 and I don't think 780 V8 from Scania will be enough power to take that jump over Volvo that Scania want to take. Thats only my guess. I love your trucking videos and sorry if I miss wright some words my english is not the best.

Thanks for the great video. The highlight for me was the brief chat with Brian and the look around his R580. Beautiful truck! I have been a professional truck driver in the U.S. for 25 years and started out in "cabovers". I owned and operated 1992 Peterbilt 372 cabover for 7 years. Thank you Stavros and Brian.

A test truck badged as an S730 8×4 construction truck was seen being transported in Sweden and the registration no. revealed it has the V8 rated at 854 bhp!!.

one thing that i think too is scania makes 780hp scanias but another thing think is that they could make 750hp engines cuz volvos have those

i see every day at least 2 G, 15 R (old and new gen) and 4 S scania series cuz i live near E67 (Estonian highway) 45% trucks i see are scania 22% Volvo 15% Mercedes Benz, Daf Iveco and rest 10% are renaults

Air ride suspension on the front, have it on the 2005 Volvo, but when you do 70 mph in Wyoming and it is blow out on the passenger side. Not a good feeling you will learn very fast how to hold the steering wheel with two hands. Never again.

I expect,if it's a 780,to have something between 3800 and 4000 Nm of torque.Would it sell enough?Because,i don't think so much transporters would need such a powerful engine. You,europeans,can tell me about it.And also,will Scania be able to fit so much power/torque in a 16 liter?

Here in Norway we would, we transport aluminium over the mountains and equipment for the oil-industry over the mountains, and regularisere pull more than 50 tons (more than 60 tons with permit), so the need for power is there.

That T 143 looks great with the blue chassis and a few blue highlights. A good example of why less is often more.

Scania are developing the new V8 As they are work hard on revised the V8 engine Btw, the 580 are develop 3000Nm of torque in the Pure SCR verison (DC16 11x). The 2950Nm is the old version (DC16 10x).

There's rumours that there might be a 760 bhp twin turbo version and an 860 as a test truck badged as a 730 really had 854 bhp. It's on Iepilieks

scania needed to step up with more horsepower volo is Swedish just as scania and has a i6 inline diesel that put out 750 HP horsepower so scania need to do much great with a v 8 diesel engines at least 900 HP horsepower or 875 HP at 45 ooo rtp torque.

Pointless for the Irish Market. These V8 scanias are designed for heavy haulage..100 T plus. They don't make any economical sense pulling 46T. They cost way more,weight way more and burn more fuel than 6 cylinder competition.

The S series is the ugliest Scania to date, the cab don't look so bad in a G series, probably because it's shorter. The new S class looks like a Hino 700 series. Best looking Scanias 1. 3 series(best Scania ever) 2. Old R series 3. 4 series
