The 50s were magical. The 70s were legendary.

Everything!!! I agree with everything you said. I will add, his kindness and humility. He gave soooo much, just for the love of seeing someone smile and just for the simple act of giving. He was so humble and NEVER forgot where he came from. Didn't matter what color skin, religion etc.. There will never be another Elvis. He had the such talent, charisma & oozed sexiness! He loved his craft and he loved his fans! TCB ⚡👑 Great topic ... Thank you 🌹

So glad you enjoyed the video! GREAT point regarding his kindness and humility. That's another thing that's missing from most or all artists today. Elvis was far and away the most talented artist alive at the time and never once gave the impression that he thought that. Again, great point and thanks for the comment :)

I have to say that I have only started digging deep into the Elvis catalog in the last couple of years and I was shocked by how much I LOVE Elvis of the 70s. Previously, I had always said, "I like Elvis, just not 70s Elvis." However, having listened to more of his 70s catalog, I am now obsessed with 70s Elvis. I am convinced that his greatest sin (as far as most critics go) was gaining weight. When I read reviews of his 70s albums I expected to hear absolute crap. But that did not match what I heard when I actually listened. It seems that critics/journalists/commentators can forgive his prescription drug abuse, they can overlook his preference for young girls, but they make fun of and ridicule his appearance in the last two or three years of his life as if it diminished his entire existence. Thank you for this video. ❤🎶❤

@@GrumpyFlyr1995 thanks for the great comment!! I can't remember if I mentioned this in the video, but I started in reverse from most fans. My mom loved his 70s stuff, so that's what I grew up on. So I heard a to of all of that before ever going back to listen to the stuff the rest of the world knows lol. Having said that, you're totally right IMO. So many people write the 70s off because that's the narrative in general. Thanks for watching and thank you again for such a great comment :)

Great video! I got into Elvis as a 9-year-old and I don't think I appreciated the 70's work as much, even though I loved "In the Ghetto." I just found his '50s and '60s energy so compelling (hip-shaking, etc.). As I got older, I realized just how much intensity there still was in his '70s performances. It was less about being flashy (besides the bling and jumpsuits) and more about being passionate about the performance. Elvis said after hearing a demo of "If I Can Dream," "I'm never going to sing another song I don't believe in." You can tell in his '70s performance that he has a much greater passion and intensity because he really cares about the songs he's singing. (SIDE NOTE: I went to Graceland before a major surgery; it was a transformative experience for me. I remember taking a picture in front of the gates late at night and shouting, "I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M REALLY HERE" as all the traffic came to a sudden halt as I got my photo opp.)

Great point about why he sang what he sang in the 70s and why it was always so good. I totally get what you mean about that feeling when visiting Graceland, too. There's a lot of power when you visit there, IMO. So glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching and for leaving a comment :)

Very good comments re his voice and how it developed. My favourite decade of his too. He is still vocally-underrated imo x

He dies his hair. His hair was blondish redish color so he colored it because he thought it would show up better. He first did it when he was just starting out.
