Hi Tone , thought you might like to know some news from Luca about his second volume of Music is Ideas book: I’ve got great news, the book will be out within the end of the year. The content has been expanded quite significantly so it will cover years 1990-2012. The subsequent years (probably 2013-2025) will be part of vol. 3. Press release and purchase links as soon as possible. In the meantime I’ve got two volumes on the solo Beatles (1967-1980) out in the next weeks.

Hi Beatley Tone. Hope you're feeling better! It's Eliot Wien from NYC. I believe they will put out the Beatles US Albums on a vinyl box set and possibly release them individually as well.

The problem with Rubber Soul, as you implied, is a lack of unreleased track versions. I would like to see the Giles Martin remix, the original mono, the US version and one album of outtakes if they can find anything new worth releasing. They could also add mono and stereo mixes of We Can Work It Out/Day Tripper like they did Paperback Writer/Rain on Revolver, and, unlike Revolver, include a Blu-ray.

Hi Tone Nice to see you looking so well. Regarding what is to come, The Beatles RU-vid channel has dropped a big hint with a short film about the 1964 American appearances. I think there may be a release of The Maysles Brothers film on Disney+ (maybe a 6 hour Peter Jackson cut). Perhaps a live collection on CD and an Ed Sullivan CD. Would be nice to get an issue of the early US albums. I think Rubber Soul is nailed on for a 60th anniversary release next year. Cheers Andrew

Noticed the shirt as soon as the video started! Lovely of Tom and Andy to send those things to you - very kind of those guys from that Wings band to sign that shirt for you :P As much as the prospect of new Paul music does excite me, I'm half hoping he holds off until next year, I don't know if I'll be able to afford the 20 coloured vinyl variants while I'm rushing around the UK - plus I don't fancy having them piling up at my front door until I get home! Although I'm certain something will come from at least Paul or the Beatles, I'm convincing myself that it'll be a quiet end to the year - just to cause some relaxation in my wallet. Not overly interested in a US arrival box set, a weird niche thing - strange to celebrate one country's welcoming of the Beatles, but perhaps it's just me thinking that way. 2 videos in 4 days is a treat! Loving the output Tone!

Rubber Soul in 2025 is fine by me. Perhaps combined with Help! if the pickings are thin. I would welcome a box set of the first four albums remixed using the new AI technology and with the few outtakes and unreleased songs. That would be fab. Then perhaps a MMT box set for the 60th anniversary in 2027. The blu ray film release of MMT in 2012 was good, but seeing as I don't have surround sound (nor likely to get it) an enhanced stereo release would be great. Yellow Sub? Perhaps a remix of the original album. Then a few more from Macca's Archive series. I know many of us are desperate for London Town and Back to the Egg. I've still not given up hope of a physical release, since we all know the rumours that those albums were worked on years ago. So if he doesn't intend a physical release, why not release them now to streaming services? I'd love John's deluxe series to continue. Certainly Walls and Bridges, possibly Rock n Roll (which might finally be a decent album). Can we hold on for DF and M&H? We're all getting older. All those would satisfy me. I've spent far more money than is sensible. 😊

Glad to hear things are on the right track. You sound great. I’d be happy with any of the choices you mentioned as far as a Beatles deluxe box goes. We did get a lot of remixed Rubber Soul on the Red and Blue plus the single so I’m ok waiting another year for a Rubber Soul box as long as it hopefully comes out eventually. I’d be ok with a combined Hard Day’s Night/Beatles For Sale box but my preference is for a separate box for each album. Even if it means a slimmer box with a hopefully slimmer price. I still have all my old US albums so an upgrade on those in one box would be nice. But will they use the American mix, the 2009, or a new mix. I guess we’ll find out soon. Take care

Hi Tone Good to see you looking so healthy, mate. I ordered three books: John Blaney 1973, Elliot Mintz We All Shine On and Allan Kozunn McCartney Legacy Volume.2. And I just heard about a Laurie Kaye book. She was with the RKO crew that interviewed John on his dying day. His real last interview. In my opinion, there will be three Boix sets we get in time: 1. The beginning box up till 1863. 2. The Beatlemania Box including A Hard Day's Night and Help! 3. Rubber Soul. I would like to see an Anerican albums box set, but with the original Anerican pressings, not like the 2014 box set. The albums in that cd set weren't for the most part the original American albums, just UK pressings. For instance, the Second Album has much more reverb on the American pressing, and that wasn't in that set. The same goes for Beatles '65. 7f they release a set like that with original Capitol mastering, I would buy that immediately , although I already have some American pressings. And uhhh ..... Thirty Days 17cd set is a great companion to the Get Back movie Take care, stay strong, and keep listening to the music.

I think there should be a combined box set of all the Beatles albums from 1963 and 64 as well as the album help from 1965. I don’t know if there are outtakes that exist I think they do I think there is a lot of optics that were probably used and there are available especially from 1963. i’m hoping that there is outtakes of songs like she loves you I’ll get you love me do and PS I love you. that would be fantastic and I think there are some existing demos like there is a demo version of if I sell which would be great to include as part of the combined box that and I would entitle this box that Beatlemania

I have gotten all the books you showed ordered so will have lots to read this winter , they all look pretty interesting. But now for the music part. The Beatles have gotten everything topsy turvy, I like everything in an orderly fashion so I have no clue what to expect, but you know a surprise or two will be nice for us old fans. The Red and Blue anniversary release felt very haphazard, so I hope Apple is taking a year to step back and plan out the next few years of releases and doesn’t feel obligated to put out a box every year, whether they’re ready or not. If there isn’t enough material for the remaining remixes to produce a 4LP box set for each album, that’s fine. I’ll take the remix, a mono version, and a disc of live performances. The vinyl anniversary releases of Abbey Road and The White Album only had two discs of bonus material, and Sgt. Pepper’s just had the one disc, and we survived.

Nice to see that you are recovering! There will also probably be a new Ringo album released in september. And we have the showing of one hand clapping to look forward to as well. I have a ticket for this in my home town. Great to watch and listen to the trailer for "One to One" Finally we will probably hear this concert with good sound! I wish Apple would just MAL remix all the 1964 Ed Sullivan Show live appearances and release that as a soundtrack for First US Visit. There's also the Washington Coliseum concert from that visit that could be made to sound pretty good, I think. Those are great live performances. Why not release them on audio format, CD and vinyl? I'm hoping First US Visit has been refurbished, and expanded (there has to be a few extra minutes of footage we've never seen!), and is set for release in Nov/Dec. Hope!

Hello Mr. Beatley Tone I am very excited for those two John Lennon documentaries that are coming out and I hope that they are shown in theaters near me so that I could go listen to them I also hope that they both get released on a Blu-ray and that we get a CD set with the material of the one-to-one concert Now regarding books, I am very excited for a book that you actually didn’t mention which is Elliot mintz’s new book about his time with John and Yoko, which I think is coming out in October I am really looking forward to reading that book because I know that Elliot Mintz really loved John and Yoko and he is still friends with Yoko and Sean Regarding a new deluxe Beatles box set, I really hope that we either get the whole Ed Sullivan performances or that we get that 1964 box that you mentioned but whatever we get, I am all for it I sent my blessings to you and your family Mr. Beatley Tone and I hope that you enjoy all those gifts that were given to you by your viewers. Great news about your improving health Tone, keeping you and the family in my prayers. You have had some amazing gifts sent your way, especially the Two Legs Hoodie signed by Steve and Laurence, that is so touching. I met Laurence at a Beatles event some years ago and he's a really nice guy, quite happy to talk to the fans and answer any questions, seen him a couple of times since then when he was touring his albums of original material. I'll be in New York on Oct 9th and will be seeing Daytime revolution, looking forward to it. Hopefully that and One To One will be on Blu-ray at some point. I'm with you on a combined deluxe box set of A Hard Days Night and Beatles For Sale, maybe including a remixed Long Tall Sally EP. Rubber Soul should be released on it's 60th anniversary next December. A new Macca album really would be the Icing on this particular cake for me, as I celebrated my 60th on March 26th this year and spent the day in Liverpool and had a splendid time at Strawberry field. Aside from that 2024 has indeed been a bumper year for all Beatles fans, and to quote the Fabs themselves "It's getting better all the time... Better, better, better.....Getting so much better all the time... Just like your good self my friend...

I managed to get cd only pepper box set , let it be box set, and the abbey rd set just last week, and buying george and ringos back catalog the one,s I'ved missed. I have hinted to my wife and son that I won't revolver box set for my birthday next week, but I think it will have to be a Christmas present?. So the longer we wait for rubber soul set the better it is for me, so I can catch up. Bfn charles

Amazon had the Mind Games box for a great price and I got an Amazon gift card for my birthday, so I ended up buying it after all. I do really enjoy the Blu-rays in these Lennon boxes.

The Marketing strategy for upcoming Lennon and McCartney films will likely be: Cinematic release, then streaming and then Maybe (Just maybe) release on DVD & Blu-Ray. Tone: Get Well Soon.

So glad to see you back. Always an essential watch and this one was no different. It has seemed an odd year. Red and Blue seemed a real let-down in terms of presentation and content. I'm hoping that it was a hiccup and that the usual care and attention returns with whatever appears this year. Personally, I really enjoyed Mind Games with a few gremlins that hopefully will be ironed out for the next set. The hidden tracks was a bit of a mistake. A lot of people struggled to play those!. The lack of a CD version of the Meditation mixes was frustrating too. Good to see the two films appearing and hopefully they will usher in the Some Time In New York City deluxe set and an accompanying book. It is a period of great interest, if perhaps covering a few difficult issues. Surely this is the time. Hopefully the delay was simply with the realisation that it would fit in much between in conjunction with the films rather than anything else. Hopefully Paul will come up with something special for a new album... and then get on with the London Town and Back To The Egg archive sets! I think there is a Ringo country album due and obviously, we have the usual rage of activity on the George front! Keep up the good work. Great to see you back in the chair. Hi Tone, Thanks so much for the shout-out. So glad your consultant is happy with how things are going. BTW: Did you notice the Lennon postage stamp I included with your card? I wonder if you thought it was just a sticker, but it is an actual postage stamp that was issued by the US postal service several years ago. I don’t collect stamps but I thought they looked kind of cool so I bought a couple of sheets to keep. Also I have the complete Lennon Mike Douglas Show on VHS tape. It’s a 5 tape set released on Rhino. I did transfer it myself to DVD but haven’t watched it for quite a few years. I remember bought it on Amazon Japan site and since I work for a Japanese company one of my co-workers bought it back with him when he was visiting his family, and that saved me a fortune on shipping. I look forward to the real DVD upgrade when it comes out. Also looking forward to the one-to-one documentary. Hopefully this might bring back hope of getting an ultimate STINYC box set.

I don’t know if you’ve heard the demo version I’ll follow the Sun but that would be nice to include it’s on RU-vid and it’s really good I remember watching the Beatles anthology and there is a demo tape of all the Beatles performing and jamming which features stewards that clip only a couple of the songs were used on the Beatles anthology and there is some outtakes that I found on RU-vid especially with songs like from me to you and thank you girl which are very interesting. i’m looking forward to the one to one benefit concert and also the other documentary daytime revolution that should be very interesting. whatever the product is going to be released I’ll be very excited.

We need to have a 4K Blu-ray the Beatles live at Shea stadium. When will that come out. We know it’s all done it was playing at the movie theaters for Ron Howard’s documentary

I just hope there’s a handful of colored vinyl options this time. 😆 As for your thoughts on going to a Fest for Beatles Fans. Are you thinking the Chicago or NY area one? I’m really mulling over the NY area one, but unfortunately I cannot do 2025 as I already have a trip planned for that year. I’m really hoping to get there in 2026 though. I’d love to meet you along with the other RU-vidrs that show up there.

Bought the John Blaney book on his website and will be interested to see what is written about the meeting that took place after the I’m The Greatest session, and the Weekend World (London Weekend/ITV UK) interview and the rehiring of Neil Aspinall as head of Apple Corps. I am hoping that the book will also cover what happened to Neil Aspinall in that year as well as one project he worked on may have inadvertently stopped one album reaching Number One in the UK, and because it would have long term implications for Apple Corps right up to the present day. Paul McCartney must have been impressed by Andrew Watt when he guested on the Rolling Stones album Hackney Diamonds. I don’t believe that Giles Martin and Sam Okell just did brand new remixes on what was new on the Red and Blue Albums last year. I think he has had done that already with all the songs from 1962 to 1965, Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine in last few years. With most of the alternative takes and demos being worked on since then. Hoping it will be Rubber Soul, but maybe they might release Super Deluxe Versions at the same time of both A Hard’s Day Night (including the film in 4K/Bly Ray) and Beatles For Sale and maybe might have them released separately as LP and CD then have them combined. Another thing that that no one has considered is that Peter Jackson might be working/have worked on a brand new and extended version of The Maysles Brothers Film The First US Visit in which Peter Jackson has got fifty hours of film to edit down to what could be another Get Back. It will be interesting release schedule not just for the rest of this year, but next year as well. Wait and see what happens now. Hope the treatment you are getting continues to be successful.

But after the Red and Blues last year it seemed highly unlikely. Given the law of diminishing returns regarding outtakes etc with the earlier albums. I reckon they will eventually do remixed twofers much like you alluded to. Please Please Me & With The Beatles, A Hard Days Night & Beatles For Sale etc. If it's not a Deluxe Edition of some sort I'll be saving some money this year.

I don’t think we’re getting Rubber Soul this year, it’s got to be some kind of 1964 box set, I’d love to see Rubber Soul get a box set - but it would be nice and interesting to get something a bit different considering one day we will eventually run out of Beatles albums to give the box set treatment to, so no rush!

Who knows what Beatles merchandise coming our way and solo left in 2024 so far we have Ringo Ep Paul's band on run and One hand clapping and John's Mind games and Bangladesh concert streaming from George and some books Spizer on Hard days night and one hand clapping movie release so not a bad year so far 2024 but no big guns yet and that is The Beatles themselves Red and blue was good but it was rushed it was not a box set with no book or good presentation with a box set and no Free as a bird or real love included sold descent! But Mind Games was a great disappointment very bad sales you could say darn right embarrassing it didn't sell very good at all to me overpriced to start off with but it was remixed very good sounds excellent but his team just did not promote it the right way I was shocked it didn't sell very good! Has john lost his Mojo with the buying fans! Great show Tone very happy your doing and sounding like a billion bucks!

I don’t know if that Michael Douglas show is the same one where Yoko gets angry with Douglas for asking Lennon to join her (he previously agreed he to talk alone with her). At first it seems like Douglas can easily get the upper hand but no, Yoko ends up coming out on top with her strong points of view. I’m also into Bowie but unlike Beatles/Lennon I haven’t kept up to date on what’s been released since 2016. What’s your favorite Bowie release since then? Cheers.

I was really hopeful that Paul would drop his new studio album this fall before his tour dates, but I think it's looking more likely that he'll finish this leg of Got Back Tour at Christmas time, take a break in Jan, and then gear up for the album release in March or April 2025.

Hi Tone, i'm really looking forward to the McCartney legacy book, the hoodie signed by Tom and Andy was great i too listen to that show (watch on youtube) but to have Steve ^ Lawrence's signatures is fantastic i met Steve and Lawrence in Liverpool on my last visit in 2019 they signed my goodnight tonight single. I don't know why the U.S visits would be celebrated so late in the year as you say February would've been the time to do it, a U.S singles box would be a great way if they were too, i have a copy of the complete Ed Sullivan shows on DVD so that's already out i don't think it would be that & finally i'm jealous you have all the lost Lennon stuff now i'd love that also, enjoy that. Hi Tone, glad you are looking so healthy. As far as the Beatles stuff is concerned ,I think I have everything I need. At the end of the day how many copies of a particular song do you need? If they issue an album on the Beatles in America I’m not sure I’m that bothered as it will be different versions of songs we all know plus a book and DVD etc. with the super deluxe box set I did buy most of them because I wanted to see how a song was developed but I’m not sure how much extra stuff is lying around in the early album sessions. I think the Beatles stuff is pretty much done for me at least. I didn’t buy the new red and blue albums for the reason I have said and the now and then song was only ok IMO so I didn’t bother with it. I suppose I’d like a new mix of the free as a bird and real love singles to see if they could be improved. I do feel these posthumous songs are a bit depressing . Cheers Paul

Glad you’re better now..❤️ I still would love to see them do something with “Magical Mystery Tour” i think other then the Red and Blue album remix, i just feel like they ignored it. Everyone seems so focused on “Rubber Soul” deluxe it’s like they completely forgot “Magical Mystery Tour” ever existed. BTW “Caribou” is from 1974. And please move your guitar off of Paul in the background, that can’t be too comfortable for him.
