A viewer asked me about the green mat I use in my videos. I am far from the only one. A lot of makers and DIY hobbyists use these mats because they are special.
These are self-healing cutting mats. You can use them to safely cut stuff on them, and the cuts you make will close on their own (unless you're pushing with too much force or using a very large blade).

One downside to these cutting mats is that they do not like heat. They will warp if they get hot, and the tip of a soldering iron will instantly melt the surface.
