Reason 12/13 are by far the worst for HIpHop/RnB Music. Getting a good bass sound is hard as hell. If your music is in this genre Reason will make sound muddy as hell. Out of the box MPC, then FL Studio blows most out of the water. The MPC presets alone will give a great sound even if your a beginner.

Heyyyyyyy, why ignorant, lol. I tried it. It just wasn't for me but I can acknowledge and appreciate why some of my colleagues prefer. I also need to transcribe (music notes) print a lot of my film score and music production I need an orchestra to play.

Started working in Pro Tools | First in 2018, stayed in Pro Tools ever since. I've partially used Reaper, Studio One, and Logic Pro and am always returning home to Pro Tools. I'm so into how fast Pro Tools works for me when producing music, especially guitar-driven music that it just makes a ton of sense on its workflow. I've considered using another DAW such as Logic Pro for Virtual Instrument-based music production, but I haven't delved into that setup just yet, I might in the future though. Great video and now, subscribed!

Another one again ignoring cubase like it doesn't exist, the daw that invented vst and studio one copy in a cheaper way all hes features. I will never get why people dont try cubase or talk about it

Well, I'm not ignoring it. Cubase is amazing. A lot of my composer friends use it. As I stated in this, these are my top 5 (personal taste). Spoiler alert, I am releasing a part 2 and cubase is in it.

I recoded a song for a girl in MPC software by exporting the beat and bringing it back in on a audio track making the bar count 48 . I used a rode mic no interface and the vocals came out like my studio at home using pro tools with the Apollo 🤯 the vocals with no effects was crystal clear and sounded almost mastered when I put the air flavor on it bro it was industry standard . Then I put the vintage compressor on the mastered track and it sounded like it was recorded in the same studio as Mariah Carrie hart breaker song 🤯 . I didn’t know the mpc put out such powerful vocals out of the box . It’s a cheat code for people that don’t know how to mix and master because all you have to do is adjust the volume and throw a plug-in that within the mpc . It has the telephone voice , the screw voice , auto tune , etc so many to choose from it even double the vocals using vocal double. The mpc is a top of the class full recording studio that pushes out top quality sound .

Every time I try and venture away from Pro Tools, I keep finding myself back at it. So easy to use and straightforward for my needs. I use an MPC live and usually just arrange everyone there, export it to pro tools and just mix away with my UAD plugins 🤙🏼

If you don't know what you want try FL Studio. At least you get the best piano roll and you make drum patterns easy. I am not saying it's for everyone but sinse I assume many don't know what they want that's a good start. And I am using the parametric EQ on almost every track.

propellerhead played themselves early on though.. Reason is so good but they would not allow for 3rd party plugins for the longest time. by the time they did, I had already found logic.

Ableton Live is the best for being simple and your favorite daw probably copied something from live. No one can beat or get as simple. You can get any sound from live without clicking as much like pt

I’ve tried Cubase, Studio One, Pro Tools, Logic Pro. I always struggled in each. Enter: Reaper. Wow. I’ve not found any issues with my studio recording/tracking/mixing or live backing tracks/VST3-AUi hosting. I’ve used reaper since 2009. All of my 3rd party plugins work well in it. I even edit video in it. It is the crowned daw of my music workflow.

Fruity Loops has come a long way. I remember when it was considered such a joke that they changed the name to FL Studio. That said, I've used Cubase since 2003 (21 years). It's considered to be one of the more difficult DAWS to learn but I took to it right away and really consider it more powerful than most DAWs out there. However, over the years I've learned nearly ever DAW out there so because I collab a lot and collabing in the original DAW the project is in is faster and more fluid than bouncing down and exporting parts. I produce electronic music and EDM producers tend to collaborate a lot. EDM producers overwhelmingly use Ableton Live followed by Logic Pro and FL Studio. Some, like me, use Cubase. The advanced MIDI capabilities of Cubase are just unmatched in my opinion. I work faster and more fluid in Cubase, but I can work in any DAW for collab purposes.

Well that settles it, gonna try Luna first, as it is always showing in UA connect as being available to download😄. I already have Apollo twin and a ton of the UAD plugins and so I am gonna test it and see how it goes, before testing Studio One. Appreciate, you pointing me towards video as it’s given me some insight into workflow. You are such a gifted musician. Every blessing bro🙏🏾

I appreciate your review. Thanks. I use all the daws you mention but unfortunately this is barely enough information for the beginner and you left out the heavy weight Film DAW used by many many Academy award winners - Cubase/Nuendo.
