I love my Grilla it’s built like a tank and cooks perfectly. I’m so impressed with the grill and the company that I recommend to anyone looking to buy a smoker whether pellet or charcoal I point them to you and talk up my experience with the grill and the company.
So your Silverback has just under 800 square inches of cooking surface while the Pit Boss Austin XL has over 1,000 square inches. Yet yours is $749 while the Pit Boss is $540 but yours is still the best "for the money"? I beg to differ. That Pit Boss grill weighs 250 pounds. It is NOT cheap construction. But of course you're gonna say your grill is the best for the money.
From what I've read the Austin XL isn't exactly 1000 square inches of cooking surface that will actually be fully used. The lower rack is 650 square inches; the upper (warming) rack is 300.... I rarely use the upper rack for anything, and I certainly don't consider it "cooking surface."
I really like the information and design. The style suits myself better with the closed cabinet look, the 30% savings, higher gauged steel. That is a few of the high point for me. I know there are a lot of comments on other good products, these are a few of my likes.
I don’t like WiFi and technology so much either. What I want is temperature consistency of if I want 180 degrees that’s what I want throughout the smoking/cooking process.
and its the future.... WIFI is coming.. and am happy.. This is 2020. not everyone has time to babysit the cook. Don't get me wrong...I love to relax by the grill/smoker but really and truly, if I need to run a few errands or whatever I know I can still keep that eye on my cook if I need to.. Looking forward to the WiFi upgrade personally
Great video keep it up Mark & Shane! its hard not to like a Grilla when you seriously look at all of the details! The most grill for your hard earned money!!
Green Mountain Grill w/wifi 685.00 vs. Grilla Grill No wifi. @699.00 Don't get me wrong both are quality products. But, their wifi app gives you a TON of versatility to adjust the temp, to make sure your grill is showing an accurate temp vs. a 3rd party thermometer. among other things...... just an opinion.
You can pay more and get less or you can pay less and get more from Grilla Grills. I wouldn’t trade mine for anything. Also thank you for your service Mark.
It is not 300 to 400 dollars for a wifi module. GMG puts them in at a consumer cost of 75 to 100 dollars. They offer the model with and without. I have 6 smokers and I have one with wifi and it is amazing. I prefer using wifi over any other. What I would prefer is a cloud option so if I have to run to the store I can monitor the temp.
Great video, very informative. The only reason that I would try and do some sort of wifi would be during the winter months. Reading the probe is challenging when you are cooking and it's 0 degrees! Minor complaint, but that would be the only time I would use it. Regardless, still very impressed and use this 4 days a week at a minimum.
Great feedback Chris. Yes, that would be a useful feature for when it's super cold out. We know a few people in the FB group that have purchased WiFi wireless temp probes and have had good experiences with them.
I hear a lot of talk about "we" when you reference the manufacturing and also talk about all of the machines you have there. Aren't these manufactured overseas straight out of Chinese factories?
Anybody that depends entirely by the WIFI to cook start to finish... good luck. Besides, the fun is the hands on approach. I got no dog in this fight...... Grilla looks like a good product, haven't checked the pricing. I have a Blaz N' Grill.
My dad tells me that the Grilla Grill is the best investment I've ever made! I agree it is. I love this pellet grill and I even bake the best cookies, cakes and breads. It enhances the flavor of everything you put on greatly. It makes the best ribs, steaks, roasts, beef jerky, and pizza! I researched pellet grills for well over 2 years and I stumbled upon Grilla Grills and I'm very happy I bought the Original Grilla. I use him almost every day! Helps keep the kitchen clean too! Everything Mark and Shane say's here is 100% true! Great company and great guys!
TheCrashdawg They did not bash anyone else, just explained their product. If you would have watched the video instead of just commenting on it you would have known.
People please understand that the wood pellets are just if not more important than the grill.. no ones spends time explaining in full detail and people are scratching their heads wondering why it under performs
Love my Pit Boss 820D best bang for your buck very well built reliable and very cost affective.. I'll stick with my Pit Boss over the rest.. They cost way to much..
With the fire being directly below, it radiates a lot heat directly on the bottom sides of the barrel. That's where you need double wall insulation. The majority of the heat loss would occur there if we didn't have double wall insulation. We could put it on the top, but you would lose a lot of cooking area. We felt we found a good balance between efficiency, cost and size. Let us know if you have any other questions!
These grills look easy to use and probably are. But, If left outside as most grills are, these electronic parts will be toast in two years or so from moisture. For those that like the quickness of these type smoker grills, it is your way to go. For those of us that get into really cooking, The Big Green Egg is the way to go. PERIOD.
A smart R&D team would go through many of the posts on different grills and see that potential customers want an open flame feature, you can brag all day long about what you have come up with so far, but you need to keep an eye on the leaders and don’t be a follower.
I recently purchased a smoker grill from Grilla. I just viewed this video and i must say. Considering the features my grill now has compared to what these folks didnt offer then, but are justifying as not needed or non essential features. Ie Wifi.. I certainly hope i did not buy a product from a company "In the process" of created a quality product. Ill keep you all posted
@Markgraham. Hey Mark., thanks for the personal call today. I appreciate your response to my statement and you taking the time to answer my concern even though you just arrive home from a business trip. Definitely above and beyond. Awesome conversation. You’re the man.
the problem is the metal itself wich is a temperatur conductor, the bigger or the lesser bigger dosent matter, its the wrong material for using heat efficient...
I find that if you want something like WiFi or Bluetooth for monitoring temp get something like an iGrill. It is cheaper than what you would pay for something dedicated and built-in. Plus you can use it with your smoker, your oven, or anywhere you want to remotely watch temp. No need to add it to the Grilla products.
For the price and quality and size. pit boss austin xl beats them all even the regular pitboss grills. The controller is great holds 30 lbs. Great cart and wheels
Just FYI: personally I am not interested in your marketing strategy. Not to be rude or ugly but I’m researching in order to decide which pellet grill to buy. Just give me the facts on the grill and where it is made. I still haven’t bought one yet so let me know. Thanks
Hi Chris, we answer your question in the middle of this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9SLc4I9Jiy0.html Let us know if you have any more questions. And make sure to check back tomorrow. We are releasing a new product.
Honestly, I had a gmg and ran that baby into the ground used it all the time. Now when I turn it on it jumps to its own temp no matter where I set the temp. I’m gonna pony up and get a Yoder YS640. They’re built like a tank. I did consider a grilla but I think they’re all similar outside of the Yoder and it’s 2,000 dollar price tag
I think you'd be impressed if you were to put your hands on one of our grills. If you live near either of our showrooms in Dallas or Holland, you should come check us out. Our owners group on Facebook is also great at answering questions. Thousands of people in it. Called My Grilla Grill Smoker.
I think we saw someone in the group do 3 or 4 on there. Check with My Grilla Grill Smoker group on FB. We have not done too many beer can chickens here ourself.
These look great. You never got to talking agout the 'Grilla' model, in reference to its advantages and comparisons to the Silver Back. I am considering a pellet grill purchase.
I had high hopes this smoker was reasonably priced, the Silverbac is priced within $100 of the Camp Chief with sear grill, blue tooth, etc.. ? This Silverbac needs to be in the high $400 or low $500 to make it a deal, it appears well made and the Champ Chief does too. Your pricing is too much for a basic no frill smoker, the auger looks as cheaply made as all the others, I see nothing to command such a high price,
Totally aware that major sales are worthwhile for both consumer and producer. If you sell 10x as many grills in a few days as in a few months, even if the profit margin is low, you made a lot.. Just figured I'd tease a bit.
Any thoughts on creating a dedicated sear box attachment? Somewhat similar to the Camp Chef Sear Box which can hit about 850-900F for a solid reverse Sear say on a nice big cowboy ribeye? I know you guys would do it right!
We would only do it if we could get the price right and the quality right. For the price of a sear box, you could buy a gasser or two to get the traditional sear you are looking for. We love using grill grates or a cast iron pan.
Hey guys, one more question. Why is the grilla 100$ more than the silverback? Does it have some nicer features or is it made better? Just curious. I’m trying to learn as much as I can before I make my purchase.
The Grilla costs more to make because of the patented design. It's a bit more efficient on pellets and produces a bit more smoke because of the circular shape. There is a pellet dump feature in the back also. Let us know if you have any more questions!
So how is this different from a Z grill? This is built by them correct? Does your customer service make up for the price difference? Or is Z grills a flat out copy? I do know the controller is different but anything else? Honestly curious. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for your interest! We understand that Z grills and the Silverbac look similar just by looking at pictures online, but there are differences in steel thickness. With us, you are going to get top notch customer service. Our response time is quick and with a simple call or email you'll reach a real person on our team. Feel free to give us a call and ask for Sales/Engineering Manager Mark Graham from these videos. Also, stay tuned for a comparison video coming out in the next couple weeks of the Silverbac vs. Z Grills. We stand by our business and product and are happy to answer any other questions you may have.
Grilla Grills thank you very much for your reply plus the info and contact name. Looking forward to the comparison video! I can certainly appreciate a company who stands behind their product.
My buddy is picking up a Traeger this weekend and suggested I go with that. After watching this vid, I’m on the fence now. What’s the gauge of the steel? Does it vary between the lid and cook box?
Hey guys, I’m definitely buying one of your pellet grills this season. My question is which one is more efficient as far as pellet usage? I have a family of 4, either one is more than big enough. I am leaning towards the grilla due to the smaller footprint.
Hi Bill, we can't wait for you to join the Jungle! Both grills work the same as far as pellets efficiency. It varies slightly depending on how hot and how long you're cooking, but typically it's going to burn about a pound of pellets per hour.
Didn't see anything about the burn box and the other portions including the electronics, cleaning, and switch over. Just no solid information on why yours is better or what's the best pellet smoker. I'll keep my Green Mountian Grill Daniel Boone SS with WiFi, looks like it blows yours out of the water! Cost, your silverback is $699, I paid $799 and get a PID controler with WiFi. I use the WiFi on every cook, and I love it saves all my cooking schedules with 1 degree intervals plus my burn box gets blown out when I shut down. No comparison IMHO. Weight, your appears heavier but take all that steel off the bottom and I bet my GMG is heavier.
The clean out function is cool in theory, but realistically you still need to clean out the bottom of the grill anyways. The ash will collect below the drip pan in any grill. Thanks for watching!
Not even close to the truth. A Camp Chef only has to be vacuumed out every 6-8 bags of pellets if the cup is being emptied. This is why no other grill can compare in my experience. I have used them all. You couldn't give me a 4,000.00 Memphis, no pellet dump basically surgery to take apart to clean everytime. Who designs this stuff?
Grilla Grills to have 3 to 4 more uses before a full maintenance is a much good deal to me just my 2 cents that clean out function is a good plus for me.
I see a lot of grills that are just cheap copycats made in China. When a product has to be shipped from overseas after having the raw materials shipped there to make them, it is a big waste of money. In addition to being bad for the environment. I still have a 2 burner with 1 side burner, Sunbeam windowed gas grill with lava rock and some ceramic briquettes. It was made in 92 and is cast aluminum. I take care of it. In comparison most all grills today have no thermal mass that you could actually shut the fuel off to finish cooking from the residual heat. I find this to be true with pellet grills. I believe that makes them inefficient. If I did get a pellet grill. I would likely be inclined to make an area in it that would allow use of charcoal for higher heat if desired. I might also use an additional smoke box in the cook chamber for better smoke flavor, or use my reliable Little Chief first and then finish slow roasting in the grill. I think pellet grills are still lacking and not made to be versatile. Maybe one day they will.
@@GrillaGrills lol you take trade in's on old grills and smokers!!!??? I'll for sure check it out when I'm at that point of getting a new one seeing how close you are, for sure. I always like supporting local companies, didn't realize your local till I hopped to your website.
