What's the BEST Possible Team in Mario Sluggers?

If you want an all-evil team, going down the chain with Boo, Magikoopa and Bowser could also work well. Bowser Jr and the hammer bros are a solid outfield.

This is my personal favorite team: 1. Wiggler- speed and power combo sets him up to be one of the best leadoff hitters in the game. I put him at catcher because hes got a good arm to throw out stealing and has the run special to defend the plate against close calls. 2. Boo- He's my goat idk why I do amazing with him. His technique is one of the best in the game so his bat has a consistent swing although not the most powerful. Bottom line i get on base with him every AB. He's going to be roaming the OF or behind the plate when Wiggler is pitching. 3. Birdo (captain)- Despite being moderately slow, she is my favorite player in this game, she is truly excellent at every other aspect, shes a 4 tool player. Her suction fielding technique makes her a quality middle infielder, and her cannon makes her a great RF. She honestly serves as my ultimate utility player shifting positions every pitching change. 4. King K. Rool- One of the most dominant players in the game. Him and petey own the power stat, but K Rool's technique is better which gives him the edge as best hitter in the game. He serves as a power lefty in relief, as well as a 3B who features a laser beam throw to catch those breaking for the plate. He can literally get a HR every AB in theory and is the best clean up hitter imo. 5. Green Kamek- He is very similar to boo in the sense he has a consistent swing, very capable of getting on base every AB as his technique is top tier, but he lacks power. However, put him at 2B with good chem with 1B and his poor throwing arm is outweighed by his magic wand catching any ball coming his way. 6. Kritter- This guy seems like a cheat code. Stick him at SS and his keeper catch makes him a gold glover. Not to mention he has tremendous power both in his throwing arm and bat. His technique isnt great, so in my experience he is a HR or bust hitter. 7. Green Mii- This guy doesnt leave 1B, All the other INF have good chem and throw better when fielding groundouts. Not to mention the main CF of this team also has good chem with this player. The mii's are the definition of mid and so his bat isnt terrible, but not good enough to get him out of the bottom of the order. 8. Green Shy Guy- He's in CF 100% of the time and he is a last resort for pitching like the mii. He has good chem with 3 other potential OF on this team to complement his decent speed. While he doesnt have Yoshi speed, his super dive widens his range and his throwing arm is significantly better. I havent had great experience with his bat, as his technique stat is pretty low, and his power isnt great either. Its ok tho to sacrifice some offense for defense. 9. Montee Mole- I love this guy hes become a fan fav for me. He just gives off nitty gritty hard working player vibes. He's gonna be in the OF when he's not pitching. As a batter he doesnt have overwhelming stats, but can lay down a mean bunt which makes him a desirable 9 hole hitter imo. If he does slap one past the infield watch out because his tremendous speed can stretch singles to doubles and doubles to triples. The Pitching depth on this team: 1. Birdo- Only use against CPU's, can be an elite CL or ace SP 2. Kritter- Power Arm with good stamina he is a good starter or long reliever 3. Boo- finesse lefty to be used in relief 4. King K. Rool- compliment to boo, bad stamina power armed lefty 5. Green Kamek- wicked change up to go with fantastic command. Can start but better in relief 6. Montee Mole/Wiggler- More emergency relievers or starters more than anything, each having a few decent pitches but nothing to overpowering So theres my squad. The three most important things in this game are chemistry, special catches, and consistent swingers. Those three things are what wins games here. I think this team prioritizes those three things, and balances out everything. This team won't blow you away with a ton of dingers, but has the ability to manufacture a lot of runs, as well as has some great defensive rotations to prevent runs.

The team I got an unofficial 999-0 (I had to personally keep track and it took hours, I had no plans) against a level 1 CPU was close. I had D.Bones, Bowser, Pianta, Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Birdo, Petey, Wiggler. Now I'd probably swap Pianta for King Boo and maybe rotate Bones and Bowser for KRool and Kritter, but I was like 11 when I did this and liked using that team. Pianta was weirdly a must-have when I was younger.

That's a very good recommendation to anyone who wants to play an exhibition game solo.

My two biggest gripes with this game. Wario and Waluigi have NO chemistry with anyone other than themselves (not counting miis). Wario and DK seem to get along, why not add some chemistry there? A lot of chemistry lines I wouldnt have never considered if you ask me lol. Also wish species like Yoshi, Toads, Koopas had chemistry with their own kind. Thoughts?

my go-to lineup (order and fielding) has been this for *years*: 1. Dixie Kong (OF) 2. Diddy Kong (OF) 3. Tiny Kong (OF) 4. Funky Kong (3rd) 5. Donkey Kong (1st) 6. Petey (2nd/SS) 7. King Boo (P) 8. King K Rool (C) 9. Kritter (2nd/SS) 2 chemistry breaks kinda sucks, but the power-hitter stretch of the lineup is nuts. my usual pitching rotation is: Boo, KKR, Kritter, Donkey Kong (if needed)

Challenge idea: this team vs the worst team but the worst is all stars on

But which captain should you choose then? I'm thinking Daisy so you have easier star swings with her since you don't have an item when she's up to bat, but is there another better option?

I base my lineups entirely upon chemistry.

Really great vid. I'd switch Birdo for Light Green Mii, since Mii is pretty much objectively better (same Petey-Yoshi link, but runs faster and has a better star swing), but a lot of people ban Miis and Birdo is about the same power level. Worth mentioning, what the "best" team is changes drastically based on your ruleset. With items off, chem doesn't matter that much outside of your buddy jump outfield so forming a "chem chain" isn't nearly as important. With star swings off, captain characters (besides Yoshi and Daisy) go up in value since they no longer are handicapped by losing the teammates' "line drive" star swing option. In 9-inning games, pitching doesn't really matter since a pitcher will only really be on the mound for 1-2 innings, making them pitch for a shorter percentage of total innings, meaning its usually better to forsake good pitching to make your batting stronger.

I've got Birdo as my captain, Petey, Red Kritter, King K Rool, Blooper, Boo, King Boo, Wiggler, and Green Shy Guy. But this does look better I must say

i found a loop on the chart that leads to loop chemistry and items (if you can do mii's in challenge mode for against bowser, if not this only works in play mode; i will assume we can and will thus have a captain) Petey, Birdo, Toadette, Peach, Daisy, Luigi, Mario, Yoshi (main cap in challenge), green mii in play you can choose any of the potential captains to be the cap (birdo, peach, daisy, luigi, mario, yoshi) gonna try this tomorrow to see if it works

I'd prob replace krool, kritter, and peach with boo, wiggler, and mag. Though maybe I'd still keep kritter, as I play with items off so chem isn't as important.

The team is great however I feel having yoshi as the character with no item would be better as you would want to use his star most of the time

That is basically my go-to team, except that i pick Boo instead of Peach, as you suggested. I also exchanged Mario for Pink Yoshi, but I'll have to agree that Mario is better ^^

My personal team that I pick, basically everyone I play is as follows: Waluigi or Mario as Captain. Dark Bones. Both Hammer Bro and Fire Bro, or even Boomerang sometimes. Red Magikoopa. Red Koopa. Red Paratroopa. Red Kritter. And usually to end it off, Red Mii. That’s the reason I have so many red characters on my team, because they all have Chemistry with Red Mii. I used to have this same team, except without Hammer Bro, and Paratroopa, and the characters like Dark Bones were instead Blue Dry Bones, but I decided to change it because Dark bones is far superior to Blue Dry Bones. I think this team is incredibly good, and that’s why I pick it, 98% percent of the time.

You put Mario and Daisy but no Luigi? He has the best Star Pitch in the game and can snag homeruns with mario in the outfield, hes fast, and can be 3rd base also. Hes also a better hitter than mario if your good at the game because hitting his sweetspot is better than mario's even though its harder to land.

After watching this and the worst team video I can finally say I've beaten the level 4 CPU in Mario Super Sluggers by using the team in this video

This is completely wrong first of all idgaf if the game says the characters name is critter to me they will always be referred to as red croc green croc etc. anyways because I’m not an idiot I play an infield of green, brown and red croc with king K rool at first. Red croc is necessary as he simply has that Dawg in him. The outfield is yoshi, Mario, Luigi but the 3 bros are also acceptable. I start waluigi at pitcher and whatever other good pitcher I can get at catcher. Toadsworth would start on the mound but because of how cheese his “fastball” is he’s banned from all events. One thing you brought up in this video is that you play with items on. Why? Do you hate fun? Items are ridiculous and take away from the fun and spirit of the game. Just say you’re trash. If you want to stop buddy jumps get yourself red croc and just hit the ball farther. Nobody listen to this fraud.
