I flew from Canada to Holland in 2019 to see my first ever MotoGP race in person. I only did this because the race in 2018 was the best I've ever seen in my 30 years as a fan... it's the best race ever.

Some good ones there. What about Rainy and Schwantz at Suzuka, 1989? "Anything you can do ~ I can do better. Look, I can pass you doing a wheelie. What are you going to do about that?" Roberts v Sheene at the 1979 British GP. (The race that got me hooked on Grand Prix bike racing.) Two completely different styles, completely different lines and techniques, yet for the whole race, you could have thrown a blanket over the pair of them. Rossi's first ride for Yamaha, at Welkhorn South Africa. There's no way that bike deserved to be in the top 5 ~ let alone win. Rossi picked it up and slung it over his shoulder and ran down the straights. That was a victory of will power and pure class. Nobody else could have won that race, on that bike, but Rossi did. Dutch GP in about '15, contact between Rossi & Marquez on the last bend, so Rossi picked it up and opened the gas, wheelied across the gravel trap and won. "He went off the track!" Yeah, on the last corner, after he'd been lifted up in contact by Marc. He had an EXCUSE for cutting the corner, so why not take full advantage of that? That was just absolute tactical genius! That was thinking fast taken to the extreme! Stoner’s first 5 rides or so, with Ducati, starting at race 1, in Qatar, 2007. He won his first ever race with them, and then won the world title that year. Again, nobody gave that rider on that bike one chance in a thousand of winning that race ~ let alone the world championship. =
