I always just say I need isopropyl anyway because I only buy 91% for certain cleaning purposes. If someone doesn't understand me I won't really elaborate with "rubbing alcohol" because most of the time I never see it labeled that way anymore unless it's a really low level of isopropyl alcohol and its a lot less common. I just say " I need some 91% isopropyl alcohol"

A cool trick is to use 95% or higher alcohol to remove permanent marker. I actually use permanent sharpie markers on white boards now and they clean right up

Hand sanitizer contains alcohol also. I use hand sanitizer to remove permanent marker, also, & in some cases hand sanitizer ( or alcohol) will also remove cheap glues & sticky substances. Both products are cheap by comparison to cleaning products that will also clean sticky, gooey substances, & ink or permanent marker. Try it. You will be surprised.

Isopropyl alcohol is toxic and not meant for consumption. If you need a beverage, I recommend choosing something safe and suitable.

So does it mean i don't have to dilute rubbing alcohol while disinfecting surfaces with it like I would do with 70%isopropyl alcohol?

Great Video and explanation just one thing that is not so acurate: Even ethyl alcohol is toxic for the body that is why it is called alcohol intoxication when we drink it. It isnt as dangerous as drinking other alcohols but still it is a toxic substance for the body. Our body just had learned over millenias to process it and metabolize it but if we drink to much in a "short" time period we poisen ourself. About 178,000 people die from excessive alcohol use in the U.S. each year.

Candle residue comes out by ironing. You place the clothing(the "candled" part 🙄) in between 2 pieces of paper(any white paper, the softer and more absorbing, the better; however, I've even used printer paper in the past and it still worked). Place it like that on the ironing table and place a fine piece of material above the paper sandwich before ironing the candle residue off the clothing, allowing for it to be absorbed into the paper(use a handkerchief, or some fine material in between paper and iron so that you avoid a fire). Hope it helps, it's an old trick i've learned from my grandmother and it always works for me. Much love your way!🙏❤

@@RetroMMA I wasn't being arrogant it's just comes off that way in text. Text is easy to misunderstand because it doesn't account for voice or tone. Isopropyl Alcohol mixed with water and put into a bottle that is sold in stores is what is called rubbing alcohol. If you were to remove the water from the bottle all you would have is isopropyl alcohol. They call it "rubbing alcohol" because when isopropyl alcohol is mixed with water it is typically used to rub your skin off before an injection. If you didn't add any water to the isopropyl alcohol it would be too harsh on your skin. Plus, it would evaporate too fast anyways!

⁠@@RetroMMA That bottle IS rubbing alcohol. There’s 70% Isopropyl alcohol in that bottle. Thats a Walmart brand. They don’t advertise it as “rubbing alcohol.” Instead they advertise it as “70% Isopropyl alcohol,” which is the same thing as rubbing alcohol. 91% Isopropyl alcohol is also the same as rubbing alcohol. Any solution that is alcohol + water is rubbing alcohol.

For the purposes of deep cleaning linoleum floors, is ethyl based rubbing alcohol as equally effective as isopropyl?

I have never used ethyl based to clean, but I would assume it would work the same.

Question - is it safer to use ethyl alcohol, then, when making the "dupe" version of Dawn Power Wash rather than isopropyl alcohol, since that's made for use in cleaning dishes and cups? 🤔🤔

Yes. Just go outside and breath fresh air as much as possible and next time you use it open the windows or, if possible, clean whatever you need to clean outside of the home or on the balcony, windows open. Best wishes!🙏
