Well if I were presented with these two T-shirts, I'd check the "Made in" tags. For the $140 I'd expect Italy or Portugal, and for the other Bangladesh or China.

I think the gap needs better marketing. In my personal experience I’ve had clothes last 10+ years from the gap. Unlike other fast fashion brands like H&M, forever 21, uniqlo That only last me 6 months if that. I think the quality of gap is much better any Uniqlo item I’ve ever had. Hopefully they will get better at marketing with time.

The YZY collab was interesting because would it be as popular if Kanye wasn’t attacked? Would the design itself be enough to carry the clothing? 🤔 The double layered hoodie construction along with the colors were appealing to me. Everything else from the collab had interesting details but not enough for me to buy the pieces especially with the engineered by balenciaga prices. ☠️

Balenciaga isn't too popular after that campaign they released with the bondage and kid shit, KW is just a small part of the problem.

If we’re being honest the fact that Balenciaga is/was attached to the collab makes it much more tarnished compared to Kanye for their antics. Like you really connect the dots on that campaign/them in general and it was some sick stuff. No tinfoil hat needed. At least Kanye’s words can be taken as love everyone despite him being very outlandish/edgy in the methods and attitude. Not necessarily trying to defend dude just looking at and comparing both.

In my opinion, I really dislike the "elevated" Gap stuff. Regardless of whether or not it's the most trendy aesthetic at the moment, I think Gap should just lean all the way into normcore and be done with it. They are THE normcore brand bar none. I'm not a marketing guru, but from my experience even people who don't consider themselves to be into fashion like normcore, because as the name implies it's just normal looking clothing. When I scroll through the Gap website now there's just way too much stuff, most of it clothes that are very clearly being pushed because some executive said it was what kids want. Maybe that exec is right, and maybe the stuff is actually selling, but it's not what people have historically gone to the Gap for. Just focus on good fits, as nice quality material as you can offer for the target price point, and call it a day. The Gap would really benefit from a partnership similar to what Uniqlo has with Christophe Lemaire.

Hello Christian once again, awesome video. It's funny you know, how you literally made a video on GAP when I just wrote finish a 2500 word strategic management essay 3 hours ago on why GAP failed in the early 2000s. At 2:40, the articles you displayed are literally all those I've gone through for my research essay, wow. Haha, anyways, I think the reason why GAP might have allowed Kanye to price it at $140 might either be because its a collaboration with a critically acclaimed artist, or that they are attempting to sell YZY x GAP as a more premium brand, relative to their mainline which costs approximately $70 (well above fast fashion brands like H&M and Uniqlo in the modern day). While I would be interested to see how GAP could've further grew the collection into the future, it is unfortunate that Kanye had praised Hitler (as per my comment in your last video).
