Edd was not comfortable with the new direction for the show. He believed his workshop segments to be a key element of Wheeler Dealers that audiences enjoyed. He did not want to cut corners and ruin the integrity of his work. In 2017, Edd came to the tough conclusion to leave Wheeler Dealers for good.

I obtained a Different opinion of Mike when that Chinook landed after the Pilot was hit in the head by a Bullet Fragment on “Battle Machines With Mike Brewer”. In the Uncut version, Emergency Landing as Pilot Hit in Forehead by Shrapnel, Mike Overcome by Emotions shaking and in tears when it lands, No script, No acting Just Real Hero’s at Work! Mike did Very Well! WD was Great but it ran it course, they have to part company at some point they had practically done every motor on the road!

I remember Mike posting a video about the fall out not long after the fact. He concluded that him and Edd weren’t talking at the time, edd was the godfather for his kids and they would still be friends. Not sure if they’ve gotten closer since then but I don’t believe there’s any bad blood between them. They’re just not as close any more which is a shame

Nothing stays the same in life, with the exception of death n taxes, I don’t understand why all the fuss over Edd leaving the show, I’m sure he has his reasons and it’s got nothing to do with anyone else other than the guys making or living with the aftermath of such a decision, these guys have been good friends for a number of years and I’m pretty sure I heard Mike say Edd was godfather to his kids, time will pass and Mike and Edd will probably be friends again, even if they don’t, I have a hard time trying to understand why the abuse Mike gets is justified or acceptable, some people need to chill out and let life pass them by a bit more rather than act like a rancid, madass dog that chases cars down the road, save your anger for real scumbags like putin, Assad, Kim jong whatever….

For me the show fell apart when Mike picked up the spanners. I loved seeing Ed working on cars but not so much Mike showing off. Perhaps Ed should have started searching for and buying cars? They had a good balance but Mike seemed to crave the spotlight.

The problem here as I see it, is Mike brewer ego just won’t fit in any show . Anyone can see by his obesity, he’s a greedy git. Not saying at all Ed is not at fault, but not as much into himself as Mike is. If. Mike could just buy and sell ,get parts etc. and leave Ed do mechanical. I think the show would work. But Mike wants the spotlight on himself only!

The first clip of Mike Brewer slagging Edd China off did him no favours!! Who trusts a dodgy car salesman that made out he was the car buyer when actually it was all staged, Brewer was just a talentless actor with no skills other than biggin himself up in front of a camera. The format with little or no mechanical input would never have worked so a procession of mechanics tried to fill Edd Chinas shoes with some success.

Did some very bad things, yeah told the tv producers that his segment was tge reason people watched. Anyone can do what brewer does. The usa episodes well growing up as a kid of the 70s and 80s I related to ford escorts and golf not american cars like ramblerscetc. Not the same since edd went get over it mike.

It was clear that the suits were looking to maximise profits and wanted to make it all corporate, catering for the lowest common denominator muppets that thought things like American chopper, American hotrod etc were real, in fact, you could see Mike desperate to run in that direction chasing the money. He is afterall a slimey salesman in a cheap Primark suit. Ed was in it for the engineering like most of the fans, which is why they lost a massive amount of the original fanbase when he left (not that they cared as these were replaced by dribbling Top Gear watching morons who were now being catered for). Like so many good things in life, the sharks, who value nothing in life but money, moved in and ruined it.

Long time fan of wheeler dealer's mike and ed but after a few years got bored of listening to repeats of mike banging on with unfunny one liners and quips etc. Nowadays when I watch the repeats I skip the mike twaddle.

Ed is a master mechanic. Mike is carried by whoever fills this position. Mike thinks he's helping out if he gets the wheels refurbished. By the time the car is ready for resale, it sells itself. Mike is very much excess baggage and it's about time someone replaced him. He's such an annoying prat
