Sonic R was actually made by Traveler's Tales (the same company behind today's Lego games). It is graphically impressive, pushing the Saturn to it's limits.

The only problem about Riders is the controls aren't explained well. Zero Gravity has a tutorial for the PS2 version only. So pretty much not everyone who played the game only once or twice will able to get a grasp on how fun the game is unless they spend more time in the game.

Wasn't there a racer titled "TF2" in Allstars? I'm pretty sure it had Each class type with Pyro as offense, Heavy from Defense, and Spy as support.

You know, it's kind of funny that your mic glitching is hard to tell apart from your normal editing. The one, true flawless entertainment style is the one where even your technical glitches can be taken as intentional comedic choices.

Tbh one of my favourite things in sonic games is when you drift around corners so this game looks fun to me

I love tails doll. He is my favourite sonic character. And sonic r is one of my favourite. Sonic games.

I feel like Sonic Riders wasn't really represented well in this game. 1) The game has a boost feature, you sacrifice some air to do a little boost that makes you go faster for a short amount of time and when you get close to an enemy you can attack them. 2) In a race, you can collect rings to level up your board which increases your maximum air tank capacity, speed, and other stuff. First level up is at 30, then 60 (I think) 3) In the game each character has a class type. Speed, Fly, and power. These class types allow you to access certain shortcuts on the stage that people without the class type can't get to and certain boards can give characters more than their class type. Ex) Sonic is a speed type but you can give him a board that can give him power class type so he has both speed and power and can access all shortcuts for either class type 4) Learning how to do good jumps in the game is hard at first but once you get the hang of it, it's not that hard to keep your air up, and God you jump high/far enough you can get to a shortcut. 5) There are items boxes on each stage and the items either help you or hurt, and don't effect other players. The possibilities you can get are rings, air, invincibility which makes you invincible and increases speed, and a weight which slows you down. 6) There are 3 types of vehicles you choose from. Board, Bike, or skates. I'm not sure on the differences between then like if bikes make better turns and skates have better acceleration. But anyhow, you can unlock these vehicles by buying them from a shop with rings you collected from races. More vehicles become available as you progress through story mode. 7)Story mode is meh, just play it to unlock stages and vehicles 8) There are multiplayer modes, I love playing the arena but I only played with AI so I never had a challenge. The Co Op racing game is a cool concept, but AI sucks as partners. 9) There are missions in the game that really make you utilize some game mechanics. I don't remember if there are any really annoying ones. I just know that getting gold on all of them are hard. And you unlock super sonic if you do it. 10) Super sonic is an interesting character. You start the race with x amount of rings and as each second passes you lose a ring. Your rings are actually your air tank for him because they don't give him an air tank. My only complaint is he uses a board instead of flying. 11) There are 2 secret stages I forgot how you unlock but they are a blast to play. 12) The sound track for this game is amazing. Cutscenes suck but they're so bad that they are great to watch for comedy 13) Sonic Zero G and Free Riders mechanics sucks but Zero G has fun stages 9/10 Sonic and Super Sonic don't need a vehicle

I grew up with Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing instead of Mario Kart Wii. I didn't know who any of the characters were at the time but that game was my childhood. It was also technically my first Sonic game.

2:18 Actually, it was Marble Zone. All the courses in the game are zones from Sonic 1, but without the word "zone" at the end. But it would've been better if they replaced it with a different word, like "circuit".

As the new offering for their 32-bit console, Sonic R is the biggest pile of shit in the franchise. It was a joke. SO fucking bad. It's no wonder at all that Sega dropped off so hard. Compared to what N64 and PS1 had, Sonic R was like Sega sharting right in the face of anyone who bought a Saturn hoping to see the next great Sonic game, the next Big Sega attack in the console wars.
