Ah I thought the pie idea was bad. The pie looked like shit honestly. The crust didnt even stick while she was cutting it. It was falling apart as she was cutting it and eating it. I love pie but that wasnt it... The kimchi soup. Just gave me a heart attack. Butter... Idk why she put it in. And I thought the pork belly in the air fryer is common knowledge... Btw I am korean.

I mean the point of the show is to create new recipes and professional chefs are there for a reason. they understand what people would like and judge it to see if it could fit the common person’s liking or if maybe people like students would buy it She said she’s doing a western fusion and in U.S. cooking, butter is a common ingredient that is usually used to enhance flavor hence why she used it

@@jellyyuyu8260 she didnt introduce it as a final product meaning she also didnt think it was good enough. Ive seen people eat some of her food and they said it's bland. Her mozarella cheese ive had. Its bland. its more like white cheese than mozarella. Butter with kimchi wouldnt enhance it. I think its common knowledge that milk products tone down spice so it would make it bland and greasy. She said it so herself... She added corn syrup after which made more sense. She showed her recipe. Yall can try it and tell me. I think she tries too hard sometimed and goes wayyy too out of the box. Ive already tried a couple. For me ryu and the lady with her son on the show make better recipes. I dont hate her. Shes had better dishes. Its just these made no sense and didnt look appetizing. Her pie also probably fell apart because whole grain is dry and needed more moisture to bond.

It's probably the whole wheat flour. It tends to be a little more dry and tough bc of the bran. You can see the crust edge was quite dense and not flaky. Honestly not the best flour for pastries. It's a little overbaked but also, that's just the color of whole wheat. I'd still try it tho cus it probably pairs well with savory fillings.

Garlic is pretty much a stable in a lot of both western and eastern dishes tho.
