The SBMM in apex is awful, they forcefully put people on your team that are worse than you. The system sees you are a good/decent player so they drop bots on you so you can try to show them how to play. A true name over SBMM is EBMM " Experience based matchmaking" they want the bad players to have a good experience by being put on teams that are better than them
SBMM in general is a flawed idea. So many issues in practice, it's honestly better just to have the solo queue entrance cost to be less than that of a 2 or 3-man, since they will most of the time be much less efficient than a pre-made squad with constant communication. Surely they have the statistics to compare the average RP gained by a solo in X rank compared to the average RP gained by a full 3-man in X rank, and they can adjust the entrance costs accordingly. Because right now, they're kind of created a false economy where there's more RP lost every match than there is RP gained. It shouldn't be that way IMO.

I always thought that the matchmaking issue had less to do with SBMM and more to do with getting into games faster/shortening queue times. To be fair I don't play during the prime times in my region so this can be completely different for me.

Literally the beginning clip is why I'm feeling really tempted to play Seer in ranked. I also don't trust my teammates to do anything in ranked xD I'm so tempted to just rotate and play it safe tbh. But I think picking off kills from mid-ranged, and maybe getting a few from third partying is the way to go. Literally it's still a coin toss with the match-making atm.
In the new season I just get really bad players who don’t listen and are scared to fight. In one game I downed two players and my teammates were still on top of a building trying to hit them. I go down and they just stay up there and let them revive his teammates. Really bad experiences so far
Yesterday pubs was filled with masters/diamonds and it made playing pubs really really awful so my friends and I switched to playing ranked. Definitely had a better night hahaha
Yeah, it's crazy. I play pubs and my whole lobby is 3 stacked masters and a handful of predators that just hold W. I play ranked, just made it to Plat 4 and it's 10x easier.
Mine is back to back to back crashing... Plat is literally impossible right now plus I still have the bug from 2 months ago that stops next gen Xbox players from talking in gamechat
As a console player I can't even play ranked. Once I hit platinum I just keep getting disconnected from cheaters DDOSing the server. Apex needs to fix this bullshit
I think a posability is that it averages your rank and arenas rank. So for zues who levels up quick in leagues but never plays arenas i think it may give you teammates that average between the two. Just a theory i have no idea.
