@@AGjoinery 😂 LOL - Bro, we live in a world full of people looking to complain about something, anything…and everything. People got nothing it do, so they be out looking for problems to provoke, then follow it up by bitching about it. Phukk, some people really need a hobby.
Which rappers are hating on em? Is it all of them and please tell me a rapper that doesn't have haters ....it's not as if any rapper has ever shot at em...
They didn't ask Em for help. The fact is, he didn't do anything for that genre of rappers from the city. They had to kick in the doors themselves, so why would they hold him in high regards. They feel like he said fuck them when they were trying to come up and they said fuck him back. And how is that hating?
I love when Royce talks about Rap Culture cause he actually knows what he’s talking about and articulates himself well. I also love listening to the history and how things are now
Why these guys act like Em is daddy who left for milk and didn't come back? This man doesn't owe anyone anything, and he still does a lot. He doesn't have to endorse someone he doesn't believe in as a rapper or person purely for the fact they from Detroit.
Also it's like stupid money that Em put's back into Detroit but he don't put every year a billboards up of his face and the number that he contributed into growing Detroit this year. Then people don't know what they be talking about and say some dumb shit like he doesn't care Detroit or whatever it is
Royce has a genius way of voicing his opinion and being extremely respectful at the same time. People In general (including myself) need to apply this a lot more
Royce has a way of skirting the line. He usually keeps from crapping on Em, while also showing the throwing props at those in hip hop that, in actuality, have an issue with Em’s skin color. I don’t know their personal relationship, but over the past several years it doesn’t seem to me that Royce has always been the best friend. Not 100%
@@MrThankman360 ya they had had a beef back when him and D12 exchanged their diss tracks to each other but I slim stayed out of it. They're good friends now from my understanding but it seems Royce gets annoyed because every interview they have with him they always try to swing the interview towards EM. Gotta be frustrating for Royce.
Man Royce is well spoken, his ability to articulate his thoughts is impressive- wish I could do that. Love his music and actually found him through Em. Outside The US I think that is Em’s biggest work for the culture. He brought so many other artists to new audiences.
Gotta work on it man. One day at a time. Read more. Recognize your thoughts and feelings throughout the day and just think on em then eventually vocalize them and make note
I’m from Michigan and I completely understand and agree with every word that Nickel nine said in this interview. Detroit rappers be shooting their selves in the foot by talking wild about the Michigan 🐐, Ignorance is bliss.
Massive respect to Dre though, his instinct for talent was unbelievably open minded, unbiased and revolutionary, what a genius! People forget his role in hiphop/rap, what a legend!!!
Good interview. I always appreciate Royce when he gives his thoughts on things. You can tell he thinks about what he is going to say before he says it and is always articulate.
11:01 Lol... this guy said "Bathing in the tears of other rappers" XD Whole interview Royce is right. I feel like people think it's the cool thing to show like you don't mess with Em's music no matter how dope Eminem is. And I truly believe it's cuz of his race.
Royce I respect you more for this. You have addressed this issue with these rappers on a level that needs to be addressed on. Thank you and tuning in from the South Pacific.
Royce always dropping knowledge, actual Gems. Royce always have Ems back and he comes correct with facts and can break shit down to a common sense level for dummies cant argue with and does it more eloquent and concise that Em could.
Until folks honestly talk about Em’s skin color being what these new rappers have an issue with you won’t get anywhere. Hating white is trendy. And Em is white. Be honest.
@@demetriuslloyd3736 honestly you sound like you can't handle the truth and want to use hypocritical double standards which sadly tends to be common nowadays. This goes beyond hip-hop bro ,it's about race with a lot of people, some of which may not even be hip-hop fans. I'm white and been listening to hip-hop since the 80's so are you gonna tell me I know nothing about hip-hop? There's a lot of people of many races that need to grow tf up and get rid of their racial issues within themselves. It's nearly 2022 and racism is still being kept alive...
There’s a difference between a top 5 of your favorite rappers and a top 5 of the best rappers. You don’t have to listen to everyone or relate to a rapper to know he’s one of the greats. To me the greats are the ones who accomplished the most in the genre and helped it evolve and pave the way for other styles and artists.
Hey R.I.P to all the children and families involved in that shooting over in Michigan school recently. That’s so tough what parents will gift their own children, especially high-schoolers. I hope the culture can shift some opinions and mindsets, even though you guys been putting in the pain for years, there’s always hope with coping in this world. Blessings to everyone, I pray
Thanks man I appreciate you for your comment.Im from Detroit Michigan born and raised.but now I live in Warren Michigan a suburban city outside of Detroit.across 8 mile Rd.but that suggest happened not to far from me and I daughter that 7 years old and I pray for her everyday before she goes to school
I've always enjoyed listening to Royce. He's very intelligent, and can put together a puzzle in his head on the spot, and also figure out different ways to put it together. I think the best way to put it, he can think before he speaks. Royce knows that in today's world, Mc and rapping have finally split in half completely. Unfortunately, this generation cares more about rapping, and how the beat sounds. This is where it gets confusing with eminem and other lyrical beast. They will always be kings and held to the highest honor of hip hop. Everyone will see that all these rappers now, won't last. They can't adapt, especially with rap, as it is the only genre of music that has a climate change at any given moment. Sooner or later, people will realize that the only ones left, are the ones that have been here the whole time. The lyrical monsters. Em and Royce are the GOATS by the way, just in case anyone forgets!
I've bumped Eminem in my hood all my life an out rap the ones who didn't listen to Eminem 🤣🤣 see a true artist listens to everyone because everyone has something to offer cause I've done all the hood things an Still found things to relate to with EMS music so they be b.s just to look hard cause Em is viewed as a nerd but for all y'all hood rappers change y'all subjects all y'all songs are the same shoot,Rob,hoes, car, money, jewelery.
You aint from hood and thats not what alll hood rapper talk about hood rappers talk about their families they talk about love you just choose to ignore it focus on the shoottin nd robbin
I disagree with your ending about hood rappers, while their MAIN CONTENT in raps does contain violence, women & materialistic items they do rap about other things such as love, harsh environment/upbringing, social issues, etc. That's like saying all Em rap about is drugs, his depressing upbringing, Kim & Mom.
8 mile was never supposed to be an accurate depiction of Detroit. It was a movie loosely based on Eminems life and experience. LOOSELY! And it was meant to do well in the box office. That's it
Marshall gifted Big Sean a new pair of Jordan 4 Carhardts. Sean has a pair to flex and a pair wrapped up in the safe. Why would Em do that. Because Marshall watched the episode of GQ with Sean in it and heard his shout out. Abide by the dude
I think a big part of problem(in terms of just the music, getting signed, getting heard, etc.) is that "the real Detroit sound" isn't easily digestible for the masses, or even hip hop fans specifically. It's something I personally like(though obviously over the last decade and a half that "sound" has become a lot more diverse), but that sort of off-beat rapping is something that doesn't hit people's ears right. It's something that takes a lot of listening to before most people can appreciate it, and nobody is going to keep listening to music that they don't like.
I learnt about Detroit about you,d12, tee gr, 8 mile trick trick from Eminem..i live in fuckingggg Greece .. everyone know about Detroit bc of eminem.. worldwide i mean
Eminem regardless of his accolades, his skills, creativity, an humility… he will never get the respect he deserves. A big part of that is cause he’s white. An I’m a black guy telling you that. He’s in my 🔝 5 all - Time. His tracks are special. Albums unique an him he’s extraordinarily. His done more for hiphop than 99% of rappers. He pays homage to rappers before an after him he knows there lyrics. He has put millions upon millions out for communities, Detroit, to his artist’s an not to gain anything back but genuinely wanted to help the rap game hear these artists. He’s evolved has alot of growth an development as a person an artist. He’s a Legend…. Has to deal wit a culture that wasn’t his around all blacks an rose through the pressure an doubt an succeeded. He owes nobody anything he did his part an more but still chooses to give credit an props to Dre 50 ect well he helped make them rich to. Dre took a chance on M an M made Dre millions so he owes Dre nothing but still respects him an looks up to him an makes that known. Fuck all the Eminem haters an I’d say that to your face, I’m not an internet guy… I’m more up close an personal. I still bump M I don’t care what hood or guys who clam to be real don’t. He’s a blessing to music an to the world 🌎 I’m general
damn Royce said helluva... I still remember that helluva and em track.... em killed the hook.... em has put on ( no pun intended) hella of Detroit artist back in the day 🤣😂🤣
Imagine being able to summon 5'9 to an argument, "based on the clarity of your faculty & fortitude, want vs worth of your entire being you need to gtfoh"
The main issue is that Em has already done so much that gets no recognition or no accolades. He doesn't believe in puff pieces in media, but due to that the younger generation cannot comprehend or realise what he's done for D or Shady. Royce is so good with putting his thoughts into words 11:27 🙌🏽
What? Em didnt like the beat? man! he rode it until it got pregnant😜 listening to the way he rapped over that beat, you wouldt know tha he didnt like it then again...................since he battered the beat, i guess it makes sense 🤣 he sent it to the trauma unit
Em's role should be what the people say. He sells top records so why fade away ? Still a man who loves hip-hop at the end of the day. It's this new age culture and they are completely ...Searching to be *Happy in all the wrong ways.
The crazy thing is he went back to the original beat on that song at the beginning of that track and shredded the hell out of it better than anyone of them did on the whole dam track.. and it was a beat that he didn't like.. thats tough
I agree with Royce accept for one thing. If Eminem wasn’t on Friday night cypher I don’t think we would have cared. Not to throw away his greatness but we can hear Eminem on all other stuff I like to hear the artist who’s not really known
Royce one of the greatest, he's on my top 5 greatest lyricist to ever hold a microphone and he doesn't get the respect he deserves for how great his writing ability is because the industry and people in general only give him attention when he has a feature on another rappers album. There's not a song that Royce featured on in the past two three years that he didn't have the best verse and on his own albums his writing is second to none.
We live in the time where the justified quality people are treated like an ordinary person and ignored and the trolls are treated like god. Now who sets that trend ?
Em stated in his own words that his influence was Esham and Ozzy Osbourne .... folks over Esham which is crazy ... Esham was a millionaire in 1991 off being independent ...
Ok think about it like fucking this... Cuz this is where Eminem is at RN and HE STILL DOES MORE COLLABS than who I'm not to mention. He's on Michael Jackson's level, on that Bob Dylan level. Nobody ever asked Hov why he don't fuck wit certain mufuckaz. They just show him love. He ain't going back to Marcy. For WHAT!!?
They just want the power Em got. Em got my blesings because he never did something like asking and screaming for help watch the defiants ones and see it by yourself Em is the hiphop icon
A lot of negative comments here, not reflecting the quality of the Interview. Just listen and remember that these people are a handful of losers on the internet, don't mind them and their hate bubble. Peace
@@TheHipHopLab the moon comment made me laugh! 😂 fair play. I’m not trying to hate, just my opinion. Good for you though, you’re doing a lot better than me so who the fuck am I to speak eh.
Why would you support someone who slaps you in the face, every chance they get? Your crazy to think that this person you speak bad about is going to help you. Crazy. If you trying to eat at someone's table, don't throw knives at them while you want a seat. Royce is accurate.
For real man! I'm a huge Eminem fan and I totally agree with you. People always use Em's name in the most random situations and for no particular reason. It's kinda irritating tbh.
Man Em should tap in with Vezzo , Peezy, Babyface , or Payroll . Newsflash most of us real ones in Detroit agree with Icewear . 💯 And true be told nobody wants to see them signed to Shady. Let’s take away 50 cent who on shady has blown?? Most get disgruntled & leave .
@@rl2415I inspire the Hopsins, the Logics, the Coles The Seans, the K-Dots, the 5'9"s, and oh Brought the world 50 Cent, you did squat Piss and moan, but I'm not gonna fall, bitch! - Fall EMINEM
I know Em did everything in Hip Hop, and I respect his legacy. His music has just been on Auto pilot. Ever since he received high praise for Rap God, that’s all he has giving us, now his last album it was a good album. It was a step in the right direction. But he’s solidified in Hip Hop, and that’s all that matters.
I disagree. Losing Proof and getting sober was obviously the biggest life changing thing to happen to Em and his music. Kamikaze was an amazing body of work, I understand it's going to take more time until the masses agree.
