I made the same switch around v3.5. The updated cab engine gave me more control on the low end with the matchless and really tightened up the low mids for me. the dc30 model has the chime-y vox thing, plus a whole lot more usable gain. The ac30 will always be it's own thing, but I think for post/ambient playing the matchless makes a lot of sense in a mix. Both sound great for their own applications

The Fawn cuts through little bit more but the matchstick is thicker has more depth. I like to pair amps together using one IR or the same cab. That’s how I use my stomp two different amps going into a single cab using snapshots to toggle between the amps

Very cool. Back in the day I would always use 2 amps into 1 IR always on. Got a bit muddy for me at times.

I personally think the matchless sounded better. Sounded fuller to me than the ac30. From what my headphones is showing me. Also has more bite than the ac30. Just sounds well rounded my vote is the matchless 🙌🏻

I like the A30. To me, I hear a well rounded high end tone. Not share but smooth. The matchstick, there’s something in the high end that’s a little too sharp to me. It could all be RU-vid fault…haha

Haha, yes. Listening back and using it more recently, I hear the top end harshness at times. I will work on it a bit more to see if I can tame it a bit.

I felt like the fawn had I bit more body, that can be added in the matchless. I think it’s the matchless by a nose though 👃😂

The ac30 is a little weak and thin, but matchless sound more round and warm. If I were you I would go with the matchless it is pretty much the most popular worship amp right now (thats why I have 3 lol)!

Here’s a bit of a curveball, @tone_factor has a great DC-30 sound that has that Matchless chime, and also has a voxyness to it as it is, it’s a great patch! I recently purchased their XR IR, the bluesbreaker and put it with my own “Matchless” settings using their DC-30 patch. It’s a mix of both of those amps together, body, with sweetness added it to, it also breaks up nicely. Check it out for both tones.
