FYI. I tried to listen to the podcast while at work today. That usually works out fine. But I repeatedly found myself trying to repeat portions, because the attention to my work was something I wasn't going to compromise, and this episode have enough things that I really wanted to focus on. So there was some very good content in this episode. (not that other episodes lack it)
Regarding politics: Lawmakers can enact great pro-life laws, and people would still need to keep them in office, considering the extent to which their opposition tries to quickly change the laws to their extreme. Just look at how quickly Minnesota rammed the bill through from house passage to senate passage to their governor signing it into law that abortion was somehow a fundamental right. We are more likely to vote for a lawmaker who achieves desired results, rather than withholding policies of justice, dishing them out in tiny bits, as needed. I know of a Political Action Committee (PAC) that has a rating system that factors in the scale of activity. For instance, authoring a pro-life bill is worth more than merely voting for it. That's just one of MANY things on their scale. Needless to say, if pro-life laws are passed, we would support that lawmaker. We would also want to avoid the backsliding or total reversal that would occur if they weren't in office. I strongly believe that resistance of pro-life laws will continue for the rest of any current lawmaker's lifetime. So they could have job security by doing their job, rather than gaming the people they represent.
