Picking a barrel at Jack is incredible. We just picked a Tennesee whiskey and a rye a few weeks back, hands down one of the coolest places to visit and do a pick.

Have a Old Forester single barrel store pick 131 proof. Might be the best single barrel I've ever had, only problem was the $120 price tag.

I was in a liquor store in Kyoto, Japan a month ago and there was a Four Roses Barrel Strength pick on the shelf (10yr4mo OESV). 80 bucks. Couldn’t pass on it!

That middle west spirits pick is phenomenal. I've gone through 2, and still have 2 left. The price of $80 you mentioned is only that specific store pick though because for some reason, that chain severely discounted it. Cool to see a local pick (I am northern IN) on your channel. Cheers!

Yea I was gonna say they must have got it as a gift or something because that's not an $80 bottle. I live in Ohio and they have a sherry finished bottle that's $100 but the cask strength bottle in the video is $125.

Disagree on the OFSBBP. They can be hit or miss but when they hit, they are phenomenal. That said, i cant wait to try a 100proof pick

Dan! Great to meet you at Railbird! My favorite pick at the festival was that OESF. Being described as "Herbs and Mint" from 4R, I got a lot of fruit off of it. Great bottle! The Green River picks were both good as well, but I preffered the Hickory. Hope you and your wife had a good anniversary and enjoyed the shows!

I’m getting picky too and passing on a lot. The barrel picks I don’t pass on though are Jack Daniels SBBP and Russell’s. Been passing on Blantons and eagle rare picks, they just don’t do anything for me.

Glad you did a River Roots pick I think it's just a fantastic whiskey both the bourbon and rye’s. Going the 20 of June to do a pick. And I may be biased but being from Ohio we have some excellent distillerys here. I can suggest High bank in Columbus Ohio its sourced but they do some serious magic on the barrel aging. They have many Double gold and platinum wins.

Middle West also makes a port finished 5 year Rye that, i stg, competes with MWND and is cheaper. Really good, special pour.

I managed to get 2 bottles of an 11 year old hazmat 13th colony rye pick from oak and thieves, when they were a thing, that are just insane. There’s a video of Jason from mash and drum trying it in a livestream and it about blew him and his palate away 😂

My two favorite picks were Sean's Bulleit pick, Glen Smashing and your New Holland rye. The NH tasted like tropical fruit cocktail and was the perfect beach whiskey. Do more $50-60 picks for us poor folks.

Finally found a Jack Daniels SBBP Rye for the first time last week. Am super tight on cash due to selling our house but between y'all and everyone else hyping it I said screw it and put it on the credit card. Excited to crack it. Overpaid a bit but there were only 3 left and FOMO got me considering I had never seen it before, even here in TN. Edit: oh didn't overpay too much if they're $70 or $80. Got mine for $100.

There's still plenty of value/budget bottles: Wheel Horse Toasted Barrel 101 for $30, Benchmark SiB for $22 and Old Hamer Cask Strength for $30 definitely stand out to us when we're looking for something cheap and tasty.
