A lot of prices increased right before prime day so they can drop it back down so it appears you're getting a discount. Its more of a gimmick than anything.
I noticed that. I've had things saved so I knew the original price. I went back and the "original" is listed higher and the discount puts it back to the first original.
We are sold way too many types of cleaning supplies and body care items. Most household cleaning can be done successfully with Castille soap & vinegar & some orange oil. Water shaken with a little soap and oil acts as a spray insecticide will kill things like wasps when sprayed on the bug. Paper towels are such b.s., unless you’re dealing with such nasty waste that your washing machine won’t be able to wash out a reusable rag. Reusable rags and towels will save you so much money per year. Shampoos are a scam if you need conditioner after to keep your hair from frizzing. One good “shampoo-free” shampoo > shampoo + conditioner. Good coconut or shea butter based bar soaps with no harsh additives are enough for the body. A gentle bar of soap made of coconut or shea butters not only washes your face/body but also acts as shaving cream. Buy a nice reusable razor that only needs the blades replaced if you shave and you’re set. (Think plastic free like Leaf). Jojoba oil is an excellent skin moisturizer and is extremely close to the natural oils we produce. Great for skin & hair. Shea butter is perfect for the rest of the body+more intense moisturization. You don’t need most of the shit you’re being sold. Vinegar cleans windows & kills mold! Look into your options & active natural ingredients sold in grocery stores if you want the best bang for your buck.
And they abuse their workers. A document just leaked that they have a 150% turnover rate at their warehouses. That means they burn through their entire workforce in 8 months.
I get my TP and other stuff from Costco. I have a bidet so it slows TP consumption down. I stopped using Amazon Prime for a couple of months now. I noticed my bills have gone down dramatically. I have a big bottle of Aveeno body wash lasts me a whole entire year. My Seven Generation giant laundry bottle also lasts me a whole year….i get them at Target.
Same, but for folks without a membership, major grocery stores (e.g., Publix, Harris Teeter, etc.) all tend to have great sales on household products, plus digital coupons for additional savings. Amazon is rarely the way to go
Amazon is.more of a logistics company than a savings/bargain company. Their thing is fast delivery. You don't save on Charmin toilet paper, but they know EXACTLY where your TP is. The soothing comfort of being able to see your TP is "3 stops away"
This is good advice, but do they discount the Amazon Warehouse stuff extra on Prime Day also? Seems like that would be a better place to shop when so much other stuff ISN’T on sale. If they DO discount the Warehouse stuff even more on Prime Day then I’m all for it
I really enjoy all your videos, thank you for being so informative. Also I am looking to start investing IVE NEVER DONE THIS!!! do you have any suggestions or a video that you’ve done so I can start. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE 💕
Things that are retuned CAN be in terrible condition even though it says otherwise. I got a “like new” water bottle for my daughter at a discounted price and, girl, it was USED. Stains, they cut the straw, there was a name sticker on the bottle, and it had scuffs! Shady! So buyer beware!
I was holding out to get the important baby stuff that didn’t get gifted at the shower; I made the wrong call, not everything has a deal on it, and the discounts aren’t very much AT ALL.
If you still have your registry, add everything you need on it and watch prices, when some of your more expensive items are on sale use your completion discount to purchase. I did that then got a fisher price sale, I went over everything I had, switched a few things for similar on sale or lower price items and saved a bunch also add things that go further than baby if on sale.
Sorry, anyone who actually knows how to save money on these items don’t buy them on Amazon let alone prime day! I just paid $4 for a 76 pack of tide pods and .25 for crest toothpaste. If people aren’t able or unwilling to look for any kind of cells, then yeah, I agree prime day is great. Otherwise it’s not a savings.
You know what! I have gotten so ripped off by purchasing “returned” Amazon items. As much as I love a deal, it’s just not worth the hassle. People lie and buy the same product they already own and return their used broken one. That’s happened to me 3 times now where it looks years old. Amazon needs to get better and making sure they’re not losing too much money on their returned products so us honest folk don’t get ripped off.
