Just bought the Blizzak's for my Dodge Challenger. I live in Michigan so I felt that it was a must to have on my car if I ever need to drive somewhere during the winter. So far so good.

I am glad to hear it. I think most people would be surprised at how capable these cars are with snow tires. I am on my 3rd rwd Charger or challenger now. I live in a lake effect region in Ohio and we get 80-120” per season. I have yet to have an issue.

@@Beatseveryday12 yeah you can never go wrong with Blizzaks ever. I had a set of WS70s and loved them. They did great on the charger and challenger. Had to change when I got the Scat. Need wider tires for no. Snow conditions and had 5 years / 25-30k on the WS70’s

You were right about the Altimax 12s, I love them, better on the dry roads then the WS80s, quieter and just as capable if not more capable in the snow than the WS80s, I went with a slightly taller narrow size. This is good info in this video for Charger/Challenger owners.

Fantastic. I am glad you are happy with the tires. I hold them In high regard. I am glad you do as well. I am really glad you are happy with the taller and narrower size. That’s the better combo if you can do it so very happy it’s working out. With the Charger and the weight the wider tires isn’t going to negatively affect you as much.

@@justjoshinya8309 hi. I am pretty sure that the challengers and chargers with the same set ups can be treated equally. I had 245s on my 2016 Charger RT, 2019 Challenger RT Shaker and 2021 Scat Pack. The thing that matters the most are the brakes. My challenger and Scatpack had 4 piston Brembo and both had the same rules. Sometimes I use tirerack.com to see what’s compatible or what size fits etc. hope this helps.

Thanks for the videos and recommendations, particularly on the 235 width. I was concerned about going from the 20" wheels down to 18" with tall sidewalls in the dry/wet that we'll experience more often. I hadn't thought as much about the width factor. Thank you for the heads up!

This is a great video! The voxx orso wheel hub is 1mm larger than the scat pack hub 72.56 vs 71.6. Did you use a hub ring when installing them?

Thanks so much!! I appreciate it. Yes the wheels did come with hub rings. Some got crushed in transit but they shipped new ones out very quickly.

I just bought a 23 scatpack. Why the 18's for winter and not 20's? Ive had a 4x4 truck for years so a rear wheel powerhouse in the winter is the only issue that scars me. Also you put the car in eco mode all winter?
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT 2 месяца назад
I run the 18s because they are a lot cheaper and the taller side wall allows the tire to flex more and get better tRaction. You can run 20s if you want or need to if you have the 6 piston brembos but the 18s are going to be better …. Plus the wider the tire the harder it is to dig down into the pavement in snow. And eco mode is great in the winter. It starts the car in 2nd gear so it’s allot less torque off idle which can help. I have a ton of videos driving my rwd chargers and challengers in the snow without issue. Good luck.

@BurnseysRT ya I'm in Ontario Canada, we get snow and lots of it.. I seen a few posts about skinnier tires dig in better and that make sense. I'm upgrading the tires immediately to 275, I'll order the 18's for winter and rims .. didn't think about the flex part.. and yes, mine is the 6 piston brembos

I just bought a 22 charger rt, and I'm looking to get studded snow tires. I live in upstate ny and on a dirt back road (btw its pretty hilly) so the studded tires are a must. Once I get to the main road its perfectly fine. However its hard because it has the high performance package so it had the 4 piston brembo brakes so finding rims that fit that allow stud tires is way harder. Honestly I'm thinking about buying a cheap car for winter cause its gonna cost me probably 1800 for rims and good solid tires or I just buy a car for the winter. What do you think??
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT 4 месяца назад
If you have concerns about the hills a cheap car might be the way to go. These cars do well in the snow with studded snows. The brembos really do limit your wheel options. Where I am the roads are pretty level 5-10 degree inclines max.
@Im2Divine

@BurnseysRT yea, I plan on just buying a cheap car, I just let it sit most of the winter lol

Hey what are your thoughts about studded tires? I have a 2022 charger SXT rwd but it has 245 45 r20s on it and I have been having a little trouble trying to find that size winter tires. And since I'm more concerned about driving on ice, I was thinking maybe studded tires might be the way to go. I really don't know because this is my first rwd vehicle. And the only studded tires I've found in my size are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 SUV (Studded) 245/45R20XL 103T BSW which are about $400 each. What do you think?
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT Год назад
My General thoughts on studded snow tires is you have to be careful with them. If your streets are covered in snow all of the time or primarily I feel studded is good. But where I live we get a ton of snow but mostly in storms so I would say 60% of the time the roads are dry or wet. In those non snowy conditions the studs can cause the tires to spin. But imo if you just have snow and even packed snow dedicated snow tires do amazing. I have never had studded snows. Honestly any dedicated snow tires should do amazing. These cars do great with snow tires. Good luck. I hope this helps.
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT Год назад
Those snows would do fine. Also about studded tires I would look at your city’s laws. Some won’t allow them or they have to be off the road by a certain date etc. if you have allot of ice it might be worth it but i would think about how often there is not snow or ice on the road

What wheel are you running on the SP and do you have the big 6 piston brakes on it?
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT Год назад
I have 18” x 8” VOXX Orso wheels. I only have the 4 pistons brembos so I am able to get 18” wheels. If you have the 6 pistons than unfortunately you do need to get 20” wheels from what I have read. I would go to tire rack and select the option of winter wheel and tire package and put your car in and that will confirm it. Hope this helps.

I’m looking for cheap used police charger wheels to put snow tires on. Harder than I thought to find. Anyone know a good place to buy the steel police wheels so. I can use them in the cold and snow? Appreciate any advice.

Hi. What model and trim are you looking for. Here are a couple 18” wheels I found. One though summit racing and another one who sells refurbished wheels. These will only fit R/Ts or V6s without Brembos. If you have brembos you will just have to get a wheel with the proper offset. These will not fit without 1.25” wheel spacers. I have a ton of videos on all of this. I would make sure you confirm figment but I believe these would work. I had a hard time finding them as well when I uSed them on my charger and challenger in the past. www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-939-166/make/dodge/model/charger/year/2018 www.wheelstiresandmore.com/Dodge-Charger-2018_p-152169-steel-18x75-wheel-rim-stl02619u.aspx?VariantID=520778&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6fafBhC1ARIsAIJjL8lHhpeL9EVQD3PQVp0Tq9KwXKW76SxA7oX8hB__Sc_9zTXWQIAiKlgaAj_iEALw_wcB

I would get 18” x 7.5” Mopar police steel wheels. Check out steel wheels through summit racing too. And then go with a 225 or 235 width snow tires.

Hey, I have a 06 daytona rt and definitely need some snow tires. I’m going with a tire and wheel package off tire rack and just getting some steel rims, but trying to decide between the Blizzak LM001, the Wintrac pros, or the Blizzak DM-V2s, I live in Minnesota so definitely get a lot of snow. Any recommendations?
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT Год назад
Going through Tire Rack or Discount tire direct is the way to go. Easy and no fuss and come mounted and balanced. As far as tire is concerned and three of those I think would do well. I has blizzak WS70s on my 2016 Charger RT Road and Track. They did awesome. I don’t think you can go wrong with any Blizzak to be honest. And I don’t know much about the Wintertrac pros. For my situation I get between 80-120” a season. I typically get a good handful of 10-14” snow storms and then a few inches here and there. For my situation I feel any dedicated snow tire would do well. These cars are heavy and do very well in snow. I would probably go with whatever you feel is best for your wallet and based on other reviews. If you want check out some of my past winter driving videos. These are very capable cars. I hope this helps. Sorry I don’t have specific recommendations.

Hi - I am not sure what your current wheel size is but I would do is go to tirerack.com. And go to the option of building of building a winter wheel / tire package. That will recommend a wheel and tires size specifically for the 2009 SE. my guess is it’s going to recommend either a 215 or 225 width tire for whatever size rim you are currently on. You can always just look for winter tires as well on that site and it will recommend the best tire size. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Is Michellin better than Nokian for winter tires?
@BurnseysRT
@BurnseysRT Год назад
Unfortunately I can’t make an informed recommendation between the two brands. I have never used either before. I am sure both brands snow tires are good and have heard good things from both. I have always looked for the tread design and tread depth and price to make my decision on tires. Michellins have always been too expensive for me to consider so it’s hard to say. I did look at some Nokian but these Generals just checked all the boxes.
