What Spirits are Coming in Smash Ultimate’s NEW Update? 

Apologies for my miss pronunciations of Sena, Taion, and Frye…. Please don’t murder me….. Happy new year everyone! Like I said I’m unfamiliar with many of the franchises I talked about today, so if you all have improvements to the spirits or more you want to make, feel free to comment!

I think that having the stage morph for the Wonder Flower spirit would be cool. It's never been done for a spirit before though, so I don't think it'll happen

Actually, I have a unique idea for recall. There would randomly be a reflector item that would automatically spawn onto characters. Since in totk recall is mostly used on moving items or projectiles. I think giving the characters a reflect would best represent its ability

for splatoon 3 i would also include a battle with a giant DK to represent Mr Grizz with it being on one of the space ship levels and having a poison floor to represent the fuzzy ooze from the story mode. I would also include a battle with a giant K. Rool for a king salmonid spirit with other size variations of k rools to represent the lesser salmonids.

Gholdengo as a spirit makes perfect sense as he's the 1000th Pokémon numerically and he got a ton of special treatment because of it. For my take on his fight, to copy-paste my idea from another thread, i could see it being a golden Sora, since Sora is in a similar situation being the final fighter, though that is a bit risky as he's a DLC character. Maybe have it be like the Phantom Thieves where you fight every Pokémon in Pokédex order first.

Rauru, Noah and Mio, Deep Cut, and Oatchi made it in. Rauru is a Legend represented by Mewtwo on Battlafield Temple, and he has a ton of buddies (including a giant green ROB) Noah and Mio are exactly as you described, except its in Battlefield form, and there is no big metal Sonic. Deep Cut was also exactly how you said, except Moray Towers is normal, and Big Man was represented by a Kyogre master ball. And Oatchi was Kirby, not Isabelle.

I love the idea of the Wonder Flower being a Legendary Spirit since that means we’ll possibly get some absolutely demented effect for equipping it. I hope it’s as random, chaotic and casual as possible- I NEED an Amiibo that can just grow giant and spawn Armageddon for no good reason.

15:23 Well, Gholdengo does have significance as the 1000th Pokemon. I don't really know how to emulate it into a battle though. I feel like it would be hard to implement its signature move, Make It Rain (no I'm not joking) or the surfboard it uses.

I'm just glad that someone is out there. Appreciating this as much as I am. People don't realize the potential of Spirits in Smash brothers and the true capacity of their power in representing more franchises. I mean think about it: It's not impossible that Freddie Fazbear could be a spirit and FNAF would be cannon in Smash!!

Fire Emblem fan here Your idea for Alear is actually pretty good (tho they don't change from Blue and Red, thry have both) But using the past ones as companions sounds pretty accurate Another spirit that could be added is the 4 crown royals together Alfred (as a blond male Byleth) Diamant (as a red Roy) Ivy (a purple Daisy) Timerra (maybe golden Pyra(?) )

Some changes I would make for the Pokémon Ones: For Koraidon and Miraidon, the stage should be Kalos Pokémon League for both of them to represent Area Zero. And there should be other fighters in the matches to represent the paradox Pokémon, you would only need to kill the main figher to win though. For Koraidon, the extra fighters should be Jigglypuff (6th alt) to represent Scream Tail and Charizard (7th alt) to represent Roaring Moon. For Miraidon, the extra fighters should be Falco (4th alt) to represent Iron Bundle and Corrin (7th alt) to represent Iron Valiant. For Terapagos, when turning metal, it should also receive it's final smash to represent it's signature move "Tera Starstorm"

You skimped on Splatoon 3, so here are some ideas: Cohozuna would be a giant Bowser in a stamina battle. Rarely attacks and alternates between either the Forward Smash or Down Special, the King's two main attacks. Horrorboros would be a giant Charizard that likes jumping and starts equipped with a Smart Bomb, in reference to the Booyah Bomb attack it uses. Another Stamina fight. Megalodontia (his friends call him Joe) is a giant Wario who attacks solely with his Neutral Special, and only rarely. Is periodically invincible due to the gimmick of Joe's being it spends most of the wave submerged before it surfaces. Mr. Grizz would be a fight against four Inklings with a 100 second time limit. Each favors a particular attack in reference to the Weapon rotation system of Salmon Run, where a player gets one of four weapons. The spirit itself can be upgraded to Mr. Grizz's true form. All of the new shopkeepers have a good chance, them being Gnarly Eddy and Nails, Jel La Fluer, Mr. Coco, Harmony, Fred Crumbs and Shelly and Donny. Can't come up with anything for them, but I can bet at least one of them will get a spirit. We can also get a spirit for Commander Tartar from Octo Expansion. I have nothing for him, but there are a lot of possibilities here. If anyone has more ideas, please tell me them.

For Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, I would love to see Tinkaton, being a Pink Dedede spamming forward smash, probably on either PS2 or maybe even Kalos Pokémon League (referring to the second Elite 4 member having Tinkaton as her ace). Other cool spirit battles would be Ceruledge + Armarouge (Blue Roy and Orange Mega Man), Gholdengo (Golden Giant Squirtle with impact dash), and Lechonk (Black kirby maybe?)

For Bubble Mario, you could spawn Luigi in his pink alt as well as some Jigglypuff, since they could represent bubbles! Jigglypuff could have low gravity physics and prefer jumping.

I have a good idea for a moss spirit, it has a green winter Isabelle with impact run, partnered with a red olimar and default alph to represent Leafling olimar and Louie. It’ll be on living room, not only to represent hero’s hideaway, but the blocks resemble the Dandori battle rooms. There will be Bob omb festival to represent the hazards found in Dandori battles. This would be an ace.

For the Xenoblade 3 Spirits, the characters and Items used are pretty good, but I think the order of the characters and some things about them should change, It Xenoblade 3, when characters transform into Ouroboros, their health bar is replaced with a heat gauge that drains over time and whenever they get hit, When the gauge fills up, they are kicked out of the ouroboros. To reference that, the battle should start with the Ouroboros, having HP rather than percent, and should take a long time to kill (maybe 500 HP), but it should have a damage over time effect on it. After it is killed the 2 characters would spawn, having percent again and you have to kill them to win the battle. If it's not possible to switch between stamina and normal the whole battle should just be a stamina battle. Also Lucky seven is more than just sharp, but explaining is spoilery. Also also the Ouroboros pairs are not all love interests, Noah & Mio is cannon, Eunie & Taion is implied, and Lanz & Sena is just Shipping Also also also Interlinking is not because of "The power of friendship", but again spoilers.

For the Light Dragon spirit, it'd make sense for it to slowly heal throughout the battle, in reference to the healing properties of its various parts.

Finally, been eager for some more spirits, especially for some to represent Pikmin 4 and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

I always found it odd that the Cuphead characters got spirits but the Undertale characters didn't, so... Sans would be represented by Ness in his white alt, not only because Ness is Sans, but because it would favor throws, and Ness has the strogest throws. He spawns with a ray gun to represent the Gaster Blasters, and the only items that would spawn are Killing Edges to represent bones (I couldn't think of any other item). He would avoid fighting and have temporary invincibility at the start to represent how he dodges your attacks in his fight, but would also be slow to represent him being lazy. It would be a stanima battle where Ness has 1 HP and you would have 92 (the max amount you have when fighting Sans). The stage would be omega Summit to represent Snowdin, and he would be a legend spirit. Papyrus would be represented by Joker in his white alt, since I feel he best matches Papyrus's height (let me know if someone else would fit). He would avoid fighting, and instead only grab you to refernce how he wants to capture you. You would be affected by heavy gravity to refence his fabeled blue attack. The Daybreaker and Dragoon items would spawn to reference his various puzzels, and it would be a timed stanima battle on omega Summit for the same reason as Sans. He would be an Ace spirit. Flowey would be represented by a small Piranha Plant in his yellow alt. He would spam neutral special to sorta reference his Friendliness Pellets. After he's defeated, he would be replaced by a white Bowser to reference Asriel, and he would have floaty jumps to reference him floating, and would spawn in with a staff to represent his blaster attack. The fight would be a stanima battle and take place on omega Great Cave to represente the underground, and he would be an ace spirit who can be evolved into Asriel (Legend). Jerry would be represented by Olimar because he sucks. He would spam up-tilt because it sucks. He would have 300 HP because that sucks. It would take place on 75m because it sucks. He would be a novice spirit because he sucks.

the fact we didn't get a mario wonder, fire emblem, kirby forgotten land, and scarlet and violet spirit is insane

I think for the Talking Flower, it would be pretty cool if an invisible character of some sort continuously taunts the entire match to represent the speaking aspect! I had an idea for a ranking while replaying Tears of the Kingdom for a second time! Ranking all fusable items in Tears of the Kingdom! Like which materials have the best effects and make the best weapons and so on. I think it would be a great ranking and it would be awesome to see you do it! I appreciate you and all you do Odyssey!

If you would have taken a minute to look up the mechanics in Engage , you'd see that only one Emblem can be equipped at a time. So an Alear spirit battle wouldn't have all of the lords in Smash show up, just Marth, since that's who they're associated with.

There's 4 other key important characters in Fire Emblem Engage you forgot to include that would definitely be included in as spirits (Alfred, Diamant, Ivy, and Timerra) and the ones who use Roy, Lyn, adult Ike, and Lucina's emblem rings to summon them.

I died on the inside when you pronounced Frye's name "FIRE." I think there would be plenty of other characters, like Mr. Grizz, Fuzzified Octarians, New Agent 3, maybe even some Side Order stuff like Agent 8 and Acht.

For the KatFL Spirits, the only one I really disagree with is the Fecto Elfilis Spirit Battle. For me, I'd have it be an Ace-Level Fecto *FORGO* battle instead against fellow Ultimate Lifeform Mewtwo which, like Leongar, would still be at Frigate Orpheon (though the weapon and Majora's Moon Assist Trophy would still be part of the battle) and then have it evolve into Fecto Elfilis at Level 99.

I think adding a grey Kirby who spams inhale to the bubble Mario fight would be pretty cool, also adding an invisible character who loves to taunt to the talking flower spirit, like Shulk or joker

THE GARTEN OF BANBAN SPIRITS ARE REAL THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

Pokemon Player here, and I'd like to give you some improvements on how some of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Spirits could work For Koraidon: I think it'd make more sense to have a Red Yoshi represent Koraidon. The aesthetic for Super Mario World, the game Yoshi originated from, is kinda prehistoric in a way compared to the somewhat futuristic aesthetic of the Metroid games. I should also mention that Gaur Plain works PERFECTLY as the top half of Area Zero while Midgar could ABSOLUTELY work as the depths of Area Zero -- and I'm just agreeing with your idea for Miraidon's Spirit Battle. For Ogerpon: a Green Meta Knight wielding an Ore Club in the Swaying Bridge portion of Wuhu Island feels more like an Ogerpon Spirit Battle, especially when you consider that both of them got cute lil faces behind those masks FInally, For Terapagos: I think it'd make more sense to have the stage be Omega-Form Great Cave Offensive, considering that its natural habitat is the deepest part of Area Zero. Also, Jumbo Josh could be the first spirit beyond Legend tier

I'd love for April Fools this year to be a video where you create spirits for every Garten of Banban character. Dont know if people would find it funny but personally I'd find it hilarious. The internet has rotted my brain and the damage is irreversible.

i was just as excited hearing about these new spirits as i would be for a new character tbh, like getting them on random weeks really kept me going between the waits for new fighters, and now that the booster course pass is done i really needed something like this to keep to going until some new dlc pack hopefully gets announced in a february direct. my only hope for these new spirits is that we dont get nintendo switch sports ones cos that'd feel like such a waste.

14:58 that is actually not a frozen Freddy head as you said, rather that head belongs to Freddy frostbear from fnaf AR special delivery a mobile game released in November of 2019 in between fnaf VR and SB. It was an AR game similar to Pokemon go, where you would have to fend off animatronics invading your home. The game stopped being updated in December of 2021 after funtime freddy was added. Just letting you know, great video, keep up the amazing work. (I just realized this is my first comment on this channel)

a condition that could work well for the wonder flower spirit is that the enemies could taunt a bunch, since taunting often has characters speak, and, well, talking flowers' whole thing is talking their petals off.

Maybe the controls could randomly reverse or the screen could flip for the Recall ability battle to reference time reversing

Great spirits all around, especially the pokemon ones, but one I think one that would really work for a spirit is Baxcaibur, the psuedo legend in scarlet/violet, I think it could work as a giant blue Bowser that spawns in the freezie, the stage would be summit, and he'd prefer using fire breath because that's the closest thing I could think of to represent the dragon type, and the move dragon pulse.

If they have Forgotten Land spirits, I would be genuinely surprised if they didn't have a Clawroline spirit, since they seem unusually interested in her in the game (she's the one who you talk to to unlock the endgame content, Elfillin talks about her a few times unlike basically every other boss aside from Leon, the Beast Pack apparently treats her like an idol, they give her an alternate name "Carol," she shows up in the ending when you save Leon etc.) I would not be surprised if she was secretly the dev team's favorite, which is why they focus on her so much. 😑

since you decided against making a demon king ganondorf spirit, here's my idea the fight is in the underground phase of castle siege against a ganondorf in his 8th alt with a killing edge, when you kill that ganondorf, a giant red ganondorf will spawn also equipped with a killing edge, also 4 normal sized red ganondorfs spawn equipped with staffs and ore clubs referencing both the clones he summons and the fact that ganondorf can change weapons, once you kill the big red ganondorf, then a giant red charizard will spawn in reference to the demon dragon, and this would be a legend spirit

I think there could be other spirits for other third party games that either are or aren't in; such as live a live, sonic frontiers, master detective archives Rain code, persona 5 tactica, minecraft legends, bayonetta 3/orgins, mario + rabbids: sparks of hope, ect

Heres an idea for a Splatoon 3 spirit. A small Diddy Kong in his black alt with a yellow inkling on a snowy stage. This would be representing little buddy, as thats a nickname he has, as well as being part of his classic route's name, the inking would reference the Inkling/octoling you play as, and a snowy stage (I'd pick Minecraft world) to reference altera

Wait dlc characters are normally excluded from being used in spirit battle in Super smash bros ultimate. The only exception i could find was the Cuphead spirit using the Cuphead mii costume when you bought it.

How come you didn't come up with an idea for a Maw-Maw battle where you fight a yellow Kirby that favors Neutral Special in Tortimer Island or Magicant to represent "Maw-Maw Mouthful" while you also become tiny randomly to represent the Goomba transformation Wonder effect? Something I would change with the Oatchi spirit battle is that in Pikmin 4, you can only use 3 different pikmin types at a time, so it would definitely make more sense to use Olimar because he has 3 pikmin and represents the custom character thing

I think a cool video idea would be ranking the staff ghosts in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Not the individual runs, but the actual staff (Nin*Yuya, Nin*Mark, etc.) since many of them have multiple time trials. It would be cool to see which staff ghost is the most skilled across all their records

For some more splat 3 spirits ideas, there could be spirits for the new king salmonids and the normal salmon run bosses, Mr. Grizz, Captain 3, the shop owners, lil buddy and a fight against each deep cut idol representing more of their boss fight. (big man's boss fight is a mario sunshine reference woah didnt you know that?!?? its crazy!!!11!1)

I was also thinking a good idea would be adding new minecraft mobs since when steve came out, some of the spirits that came with him were from the most recent update at the time.

I think the Bubble flower spirit battle could have been against a Kirby, the colours match, and he could prefer jumping to represent how power up actually works

moss from pikmin 4 should also get one, it could be like the oatchi battle, but with a green alt for Isabelle, she'd get help by olimar, alph (for louie), a tiny incineroar (for red) a tiny squirtle (for blue) and a tiny pichu (for yellow) on the livingroom stage to reprisent Hreo's hideaway where Moss is an enemy. Isabelle also uses her grabs mmore often to reprisent moss kidnapping your pikmin.

I think they're could be a moss (olimars dog) spirit, You'd be paired with isabelle to represent oatchi and moss would be a big isabelle with the green autumn outfit alt and have olimar as teamate obviously. bom-ombs would show up to represent sneak bombs and random food would appear.

I’m gonna help out with the Pokémon ones (because I’m a Pokémon FIEND). Sprigatito, fuecoco and quaxly I like, though I also like the idea of them “evolving” aka growing big, to represent their final forms, meowscarada, skeledirge and quaquaval respectively. It’d be an ace spirit. I have an entirely new idea for koraidon and Miraidon. Like Zacian and zamazenta, we’ll combine them into one battle. Bowser and Ridley will remain, but fight together. Only fire and electric items can spawn, while a zap floor will be on the ground. Stage is northern cave (area zero) and it’s a legend spirit. For the loyal 3, it’s the same, but after beating them, a purple ganondorf to represent pecharunt will spawn, with increased mobility. Same difficulty. Ogerpon and terapagos stay the same. As for the new one, I suggest the treasures of ruin, Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu and Chi-Yu. Wo-Chien would be a large yellow ivysaur that moves a bit slower and has increased power on moves like jab, up and down air, razor leaf, vine whip, etc, which it would prefer to use. Chien-Pao will be a light blue/white Ike (yes, the baby alt one but it’s the best I got) that prefers using moves like f-smash and side-B, which have increased power. Ting-Lu will be a slow grey bowser with super armour to represent Ting-Lu’s bulk and lack of speed, and would have increased power. And Chi-Yu will be a small red Ridley that prefers using neutral B, which has more power. Ivysaur would hold a lip’s stick because plant, Ike would hold a killing edge to represent the sword that makes chien-pao’s fangs, bowser would hold an ore club as Ting-Lu has high physical attack and Chi-yu would hold a fire flower to represent Chi-Yu’s high special attack. And there’d also be a lava floor. To reflect the shrines they’re held at, the stage will be the interior of battlefield Hollow Bastion because circular designs. And obviously, with 4 fighters, all holding items, power boosts and a lava floor, it’s a legendary spirit.

I think it would be fitting if the bubble flower spirit had pink Luigi spamming neutral b, and also a few small Kirbys for the bubbles. Maybe they spawn throughout the battle. Btw I, and I’m sure many others, would absolutely love a wonder sprint making btw

My one idea is for a mega man 11 one, being acid man. It's a green inkling on wilys castle and there's a poison floor. Their ink attack is boosted and this is an ace spirit
