It was a busted protection maybe it was an emphasis but being busted protection we just don't know maybe Jones gap was supposed to be blocked outside in pushing him towards center where he was going to receive help but once that first guy busts Jones doesn't get moved towards the help that dosnt mean it wasn't the plan and to be clear I don't have a clue if it was an emphasis but I don't know it wasn't either that's whole point of busted protection somebody completely whiffed

I feel the same way. Shanahan is a top 5 coach imo also, probably higher. Those fans bashing him are cringe - a coin could have flipped the other way and they would have won that SB. Andy Reid was treated similarly in Philly. There's really not a nice way to say it, but some people are idiots, and many of them are the loudest and most cocksure about everything.

​@@drogonr9318the only gripe I have with him (and just the organization in general, not specifically Shanahan) is their unwillingness to get aggressive with the offensive line. This year was another example. But, apart from that, I think he's a top 3 coach 1) Reid 2) McVay 3) Shanahan

Niner fan since Brodie in 1972. I am spoiled because of Walsh. My only critique of Shanahan is he gets a little too conservative in big games. He needs to open up more. Take more chances. Obviously he is a great coach.

@@CBF5star Yeah, let's ignore the fact Jimmy G missed open receivers his first SB, and in the 2nd SB we had 2 turnovers, bad line play, and Buford leaving Jones unblocked. But yes, the smart thing to do is blame Kyle for everything. Very smart.
