it is worth mentioning that if you are playing on trade league and intend to sell, you should consider either buying premium (regular) tabs or upgrading the non-premium. Quad tabs can be used for this, but they were presented in the vid more as a sorting / dump tab. small premiums are nice to price a bunch of gear and spare time on individually pricing every item
One should also note that most of the revenue is going to Tencent, a Chinese state operated company. A state that is currently committing genocide on the Uyghur people.
@@DerFreiegedanke There are a lot of genocides going on all around the world. Is this a special genocide, or is it special because all Chinese companies are effectively wings of the government so it's like we're _directly funding and supporting_ these crimes against humanity, as opposed to a company that just happens to be in a country where the government is doing horrible things?
If you want to buy more stuff with shop currency keep in mind that there are the supporter packs. Those give you coins worth 1:1 price as if you buy coins separately plus all the nice goodies. Same with the smaller packages. Like the one with the blood effect on weapons.
THANK YOU. God, it's so frustrating that this video (and many of Zizaran's) doesn't include timestamps. If I need an answer to a specific question, it's so viewer-unfriendly to have to re-watch a 2-hour train-of-thought video with very little organisation. It's often just footage of him playing the game. No timestamps, no powerpoint slides to summarise key info, so you can't find anything specific
@@kalorathekau I like Ziz's videos. This is a 10 minute well organized, entertaining presentation with lots of detail if you watch. But a summary can be helpful.
@@NelsonMinar It's not the worst when it's a 10-minute video (though still inconvenient), but it's extremely frustrating for his longer ones. It's not that I don't want the detail, it's that I want to know where to find the detail for specific questions I have; not to sit through multiple hours because I don't know where in the video he talks about what I want to know about
This is my first league and I already have about 60 hours played and I’m loving it. Decided to go ahead and just buy at least one of each tab on this sale so everything has its own place. Thanks for the vids they’ve been so helpful!
Started one month ago, already sink 250+ hours. I know for veterans this is like breadcrumbs, specially with all the content and mechanics to learn. They deserve every single dollar I gave them, and surely will get on PoE2 when is out.
@@arcadebit1551 yes, together with the fragments. However, I liked the game so much that I bought all of the tabs. My only (slightly) complain is with the quadra, a bit too small to see sometimes, so I just took one.
I want to point out that even if you keep the Divination cards in normal tab you will still see indicator for full stacks - the stack number changes from white to blue.
fragment tab is extremely underrated, i half regret getting the delve tab back when fossils and resonators wouldn't stack, as fragments are a lot more common, thanks scarabs. unique tab is bait even in ssf, you can afford leaving most of them on the floor and wouldn't affect you at all. instead of buying a premium quad tab, if you are on a more limited budget, you are better off just upgrading the regular tabs to premium. the quad tab is more of a commodity compared to reducing overall inventory clutter with essential things like fragments, that become a must use at some point. plus scarabs are a pain to sort in regular tabs. when tabs are on sale, with 40 dollars you can get all of these, even the delve one, or any other 30 cost tab, and upgrade at least 1 of the common tabs to premium.
'Pulls out bow for a quick demostration in how to use that item holder' -Half the build stops working due to not having the attributes requirements The story of my life
I'm new. Got the First Blood Pack (200 points plus a stash) then bought 100 points straight. With 300 points got Currency (60), Maps (120), 6 stash bundle (110), and upgraded one stash to premium (10). Felt like it was the perfect balance between price, efficiency, and utility for a newish player
Solid video. For me the Fragment tab would be much higher. I would say Currency, Maps, and then Divination/Essence/Fragment (hopefully having played enough to know which one is needed for your play style) are kind of tied before then getting Quad and/or upgrading to premium. Keep up the great vids!
I agree with this but I'd add that if you're playing trade league, the unique tab is basically worthless and at least one premium tab (quad or regular, doesn't matter) is essential so you can easily list your items for trade.
Agreed. Currency, Maps, Fragment, Quad are the most important in my opinion. I don't think Fragment tab is really "optional" in trade league, especially if you plan your Atlas around scarabs or any of those breach/legion currencies.
Currency + Essence +Fragment + Premium tab is the cheapest and most life changing experience in this game it hold extra content rewards, saves a lot of space and lets you set up your own shop. the 4 basic tabs can hold comfortably maps, fossils and cards but keeping a lot of bases for future crafts is where the struggle begins
I use a "$" for my currency tab. Personally, I think the currency tab should be free now, as then they could make an automatic pickup system for QoL. Plus there's multitudes more currency types than there was back when the game first started. The lack of QoL innovation is really causing PoE to show its age IMO.
Agreed. I paid for my stash tab and I would not be mad if it were to be free in upcoming updates. Currency + 6 Tabs are essential to beginning gameplay. 4 tabs is NOT enough
It's definitely not enough for serious play, but 4 tabs is plenty of you just want to play through the campaign once and move on. And if you're that serious of a player, you should support the game anyway.
not having affinity stash tabs in 2023 seems weird (if u are not started to play last week of course). So it's a very informative video for new players, great work, as always!
coming over from D4, really frustrated with the state the game is in right now. So i decided to give PoE a shot and Holy Sh*t im loving it! Im probably gonna end up buying the 6 extra Tabs and 1 currency Tab. Sounds good to me for the start. any Opinions from more experienced players maybe? Loving your videos so far, found you through the D4 Podcast with Wudi etc. Gonna continue to follow your content!
Thank you ziz. This is what I wanted to see just started back up and finally completed the campaign for the first time and just started the end game gonna see where I hit that wall then follow probably one of your builds. But you have already helped a lot. Seems like you care and enjoy teaching and that's why I like watching your videos. Great work.
I would not recommend map stash tap for new players as second. For an experienced PoE player absolutly. For a new player its something you can do without for a LONG time.
It would be nice if they let you combine 4 regular tabs into a quad tab. I bought a few myself(not nearly as many as Zizaran has) and they would definitely sell a few regular tabs for people who would want to make their last few regular tabs in to a quad. Or just let you upgrade a normal tab to one of the many others for a cheaper cost.
@@divinityai Aren't the quad tabs premium by default? If that's the case then it's not an exact comparison. I get your point though if you are only looking for space then the regular tabs are more cost effective. It could also be easier for sorting depending on how you are organizing things.
@@divinityai That's not exactly true either 4 Premium tabs would cost you 160 coins the Quad tab is 150 coins. It is true that the bundle costs 200 and buying 2 to make 3 Quads would be 400 instead of the 450 buying the 3 Quads directly. So for an initial roll out have it be a free upgrade for existing Premium tabs and after that all new Premium tab bundles wanting to be upgraded would need a quad upgrade pack costing 50 coins and you would get 3 upgrades. Making the cost even out. Individually purchased premium tabs would would be still eligible for free upgrade to Quad as well as all regular tabs upgraded to Premium. Now personally I don't think that it is all that necessary because the loss is so small 30-50 coins for every 2 Premium tab bundles depending on the way you look at the math.
There should be normal extra stash tabs as achievements like first time killing shaper and first time reaching level 100 Normal stash tabs in which you can't set trades imo, that would help a lot for people like me who have no money
@Mad Hamster Wouldn't it be nice if everyone worked for free and gave everything away for free. And everyone had everything they ever wanted. Sure no one would take advantage of others and become parasitic and lazy and not pay in to the system.
@@CarbideShrapnel Hello, did you read the previous comment? Why are you being an apologist/shill? How can other games do better monetization wise then PoE yet some how GGG can`t afford it?
With 60$ I have got some cool cosmetics, a bear with a lamp, and enough for all the tabs. In other games like Diablo immortal, or gatcha like genshin, with that amount you just get Fked. Raw and painfully. I honestly don't consider this a "microtransaction", but an honest support for the game devs. I like the game, spend a lot of time on it, so it's just fair imo.
One thing I like using the flask tab for is sorting by flask type. As I'm going through the acts this allows me to quickly see which flasks I have 3 of to sell for the next level.
heres what i did. i bought the 20$ first blood pack, which gave me 200 point with 1 extra stash tab. with that 200 point i bought 1. currency stash - 60p 2. map stash - 120p 3. 2x premium stash upgrade - 20 (10p each)
Highly recommend just getting a supporter pack. At 50 euros, you'll get a pretty nice set of cosmetics, and the same amount of points as if you would just buy them normally, so you basically get the cosmetics for free. And at 50 euros/dollars, it's more than enough to sort you out for quite a while on tabs. Even the thirdy dollar/euro one is already very good for beginners. Currency and maps are easily the most usefull. The divination tab is cool, but you can also just dump them in a normal tab.
Id say frag and essence tabs are more important then divination by far. I still just use a regular premium tab for div cards. Full stacks are already highlighted and pulling fullstacks is barely any easier in the div tab. Compared to that essences are far more common/numerous (if you spec them in atlas), the quick upgrade ability saves alot of time and theres a reason to hoard them for crafting/bulk sales instead of div cards you just trade in/sell instantly. As for Fragments there are just so many different kinds, the tab really helps organize them and again the upgrade mechanic saves time compared to vendoring for scarabs.
1 currency tab is an essential QOL upgrade imo, next most important is either a maps tab or 1 premium stash tab so that you can to sell items. after that it is up to you, whatever you feel is most annoying to manual sort, fragments maybe? I have every stash tab except the uniques one because I didn't need it. gems and flasks are a nice tab to have also in terms of time saved sorting, but those are absolutely not essential... it really does depend on how much of a hoarder you are and what type of content you play
The stash tabs and almost any microtransaction is kinda overpriced(I get the skins and others, but the stash is really needed if you want to play more comfortably). Been wanting to buy tabs but, it's way too expensive here. There should be a different conversion rate per country. points here are 1:5 ratio
Priority stash tabs in the video are QOL, anyone should buy them eventually, but I would say fragment is a must aswell since all the content inside will always be available on maps to pick up and related to mapping anyway. I bought it and it's so good to have. Plus I just boughy flask tab since the last 2 leagues flasks always filling a tab which I can fill something important than flasks
One thing that is worth noting is that you can buy supporter packs which will give you cosmetic and its worth in points So you have cosmetics + points to buy your stash tabs !
The pet peeve of no auto dump or auto sort made me quit. I have hundreds of dollars in PoE and i cant be bothered. I mean you did a 10 min video on tabs, and i know you've made inventory management videos before, and im tired of playing path of inventory management. I love PoE, not gunna play till they make that change and if they don't. Welp, see ya guys. I'll see you in D4 or epoc or any game with auto looting/filtering. Absolutely no need for the inventory to be such a chore. Its a god damn chore.
I have played 2000+ hours on just a currency and 1 premium tab. I have killed all uber bosses. You don't need this shit. Currency tab is a must, and premium tab is a must because you can't trade effectively without it. How tf did ziz not mention this?? xd
I would have appreciated a post-edit over the video showing current overall cost as you go through the video instead of just at the end. But thank you for the video.
You forgot the most important: Buy the First Blood starter pack, it's made to have enough points to buy all the essentials on sale, plus one extra tab included. 200 points for $20 get you the Map and Currency tabs plus 2 "upgrade to premium tab" (on sale). This is what I call "The box cost for the game", because you can pretty much play for the next 300 hours without wanting for anything. These are your essentials, if you're a new player, get them.
Another hint: (and a very special edge case) If you play on and off and accumulated a lot of (remove only)-Tabs, there is a limit to how much tabs your account can hold. If you are at or over this threshold and by premium tabs (not the upgrade, actual premium tabs) it will convert some of your (remove only)-tabs into your newly bought premium tabs. Just thought I leave this here if anybody wonders.
I was never wondering that until you finished describing that situation in your comment. Then, all of a sudden, I really, _really_ wanted to know the answer.
Quad tab are a bad idea. the item are very small in it ; it is better to take the pack of small normal tab. (and make 2 of them premium, to have the possibility of sell items) i have 1 quad tab, and i never use it, i would like the possibility to split it in 4 normal.
Better idea, stop endorsing predatory microtransactions. Buying stash tabs is essentially mandatory in a game that is making dump truck loads of money off of whales already. The don't HAVE to keep charging for these tabs. I bought mine when there wasn't much else in the shop to buy in the first place and I feel new players shouldn't still be having to pay for those. You got your greedy cash grab money for far long enough, let these new players just have them.
Hey Ziz! Do you know of any guide to current game mechanics that are worth spending time on(. I took a break after Harvest league and I don't know what is worth doing any longer and there is a good deal of new options. Thanks for all the content!
a good tip would also be for new players to get some supporter pack or first blood instead of simply buying coins, so they can also get some cosmetics for "free" I wish I knew that many years ago, because I ended up spending ~$60 on coins alone when I could have some supporter pack + upgrade
this game among others is also about paying. I played Drakensang Online for few years before Poe and there payments are matter of being pro or even managing. in Poe you can play free until reaching endgame, but what these games have in common are necessary shopping in order to play and all is about getting rich in game, making max stats on character and where this all leads to? just to have it all, I rarely seen people enjoying game, often refusing to help someone in game cuz so called pro players sticked together all the times in guilds. getting rich, having a lot (but never enough). in Poe at least game have lotsa depth while DSO is shallow. But what I miss is people being helpful, giving more than cash grabbing (when I give away some uniques for free, people mostly denies cuz they find it weird I don't wanna 'earn' on every single thing in game). sad.
Spent hundreds of $$$ on stash and cosmetics before realizing the game is all but unplayable on console when prices are quadrupled in trade and most builds won't function without cast on move mechanic. GGG in all their wisdom decided you can't keep your purchases if you switch to PC instead, so this game is dead to me. Their loss, I probably would've spent hundreds more too🤷🏼♀️
Wow.... Is GGG paying you to actually advertise for them now? First it's "Open 10 loot boxes and talk about how nice all this stuff is" ...and now this in the same week? Are you going to show up in the sub notifications as often as the kirac pass blinks at us in game?
I advise nobody spend a single penny on this game until they stop increasing the risk and decreasing the rewards (new undocumented AN style modifier crap this league, and clear lack of available currency without doing garbage league mechanics like Heist and Expedition). Please stop encouraging this behavior unless you want POE 2 to look a lot like an endless interface minigame with rewards that take a month to acquire.
Div, Unique, and essence tabs are worthless. You can keep some 500 essences in half a generic tab easy, if you're just selling them you won't have that much more on you at any one time. Most divination cards are useless, and they are really easy to manage, if you're not a hoarder. Almost all unique items you find are either alch fodder in the early game or filtered out, and for those worth keeping or selling one of each is a joke. Suggesting a unique stash tab to new players I would even counsider trolling. The fragment tab in comparison is extremely usefull, especially for a new player. It keeps half the mechanics in the game neatly separated, making it easy to understand what is for what, and it can hold several normal stash tabs worth of random stuff you pick up. And it grows in value over time as more stuff is added to the game. Ziz being a essence snorting ssf horder doesn't make the value of these stash tabs higher.
The statement that you cant buy power is kinda false. Premium tabs have easy way of allowing you to list items for sale AKA get currency for items from others, as a free user you simply can not achieve this in the game. You need a 3rd party program to list items for sale and its f%$kind idiotic considering this garbage should be in game by default. Spent little over 3k hours playing this game and I can confidently say this game is free to play not free to enjoy, and in recent times I realized what a massive wast of time this game is (not hating on it) Grinding for a magblood turned out to be the biggest wast of my time and put in into numbers I spent about 5 days from league start to getting mageblood (2 flask only) if we convert time spent grinding to hours working and consider shady sites to buy items a mgeblood runs about 130usd, me earning 14 of us salary living in Poland would mean I would be able to afford several of them have time to spare to play this game and have still more money to my name .... I feel so unrewarded for spending so much time in game. Best way to make currency in game is to not play the game at all and sit on poe trade ... fantastic design.
I don't know why, but I can't stand looking at a quad tab for too long. All the icons look so tiny even on a decent sized monitor. Feels like I'm clicking minesweeper
I dont know how I just watched that video because I do have an ad blocker enabled. If you are new and buying tabs; buy the blood supporter pack first, you get the same amount of points but a free tab with it.
As a new player in endgame, I dont see the need for the card stash tab. It highlights full decks blue, and I can just use a normal tab for them. What am I missing?
I don't agree with your video. Unique stash tab is useless and quad stash tab if it was also a premium stash tab i would put it below fragment stash tab in terms of importance.
to be honest i would tell everyone not to purchase shit from ggg specially this league that is crap but i do understand that soe people ned them tabs ofc
