I'm a Brighton fan in Australia and a mate of mine from the pub who's a Newcastle fan had a cheeky $20 on Brighton to finish top four @150-1

bold prediction: most goal in the league by subs and/or in last 15 minutes of the game. a load of defences will look on in terror as an influx of top quality fresh legs come marauding on the pitch. our attacking depth is frightening.

The squad now looks so much more physically competitive. Brighton previously had the shortest team in the league (not sure if that's still the case). Too many times last season we were bullied in games, consistently losing duels and take-ons. Joao Pedro and Baleba look a lot stronger, Minteh looks like he'll be relentless in addition to Gruda/Kadioglu/Rutter/Wieffer who all seem to be a completely different profile to the more diminutive players we've been using.

I think we're still pretty short tbh, Wieffer is our only really tall signing. That being said, Dunk and Van Hecke still are lethal in the air so I'll take what I can get

Weve had a tough start and the games against spurs and Chelsea coming up will be hard but if you look at the last 6 weeks of the calendar year we have a serious chance to build some momentum for the second half of the season so I think we can be top 6/7 by January. I agree with Ayari being a breakout star too, he ticks all the boxes you’d want in the midfield next to a wieffer/baleba type. As for the end of the season, i think we have a real chance of getting Europe league and a push at champions league if we get 5 spots as all the teams that were competing with are in Europe and are having to play even more games apart from Newcastle

One word: injuries

Enjoyed this, lots of good stuff here - I wonder if you could have imagined a while ago making a video like this without mentioning Enciso or Ferguson? If Solly March regains fitness, he offers some of the versatility lost with Gross, as, of course, does Jack Hinshelwood. It's really hard, if not impossible, to be truly objective about your own team, but I've never felt as positive about a squad (and coach) as I do this season. After a tricky start at Arsenal, the way they compressed the midfield, and competed physically, and were starting to break with pace and intelligence, even before the red card, was streets ahead of where we were last season - and that's without a lot of talent currently unavailable. Last season, we came eleventh despite Europe and a crippling run of injuries (with a far thinner squad) and, ultimately, despite de Zerbi. And I'm not sure how much teams around us have improved (and many of them will be playing in Europe with the pressures that can create). My only misgiving is lack of cover in central defence if both Dunk and JP are missing, but I think most other teams have similar issues. So overall, I think we can give the cups a real go this season, and I don't see why we can't be serious competitors for the top four. I'm predicting we'll finish fourth. And if I'm right then come the end of the season I'll tell you how long I've been supporting the Albion!

Yes the new buys look stronger hard running players but will the passing be as good. It’s been a good start with the luck in our favour several times . 3or 4 disallowed goals disallowed against us , Rice sent off .

bold prediction 17 goals for welbeck, i think his pressing is really impressive and i can see him winning the ball up the pitch and going on to score. Also good at running in behind and hopefully he can finish if confidence remains high

Where does Rutter sit in your squad? I have him in a 20 team Fantasy Premier League where each player is only owned by one owner and I am not sure if holding is worth.

For me the defense is not it Dunk i don't feel he's up to it the recent seasons he's been continuing the lapses of concentration like in arsenal. I think we need another CB to actually be more assertive than Dunk is to play alongside JP, Dunk just gives up too much especially last year the amounts of situations he's put us in because he's not assertive.

I'm sad for Brighton getting all these plastic fans now getting on the bandwagon. non of them supported Brighton in league 2 all those years ago when they almost ended up in conference league
