Soon we will see the new seventh Hearthstone's expansion - Kobolds & Catacomb. All streamers discuss new cards and give analys.And what if they are wrong? And it became interesting to me to remember what the streamers talked about Prince Keleseth, before the release? Every week I follow the open meta reports and determine the strongest cards in the game. According to the results.
I gathered an opinion from - Day9TV, Kripparrian, Brian Kibler, Thijs, Trump, Amaz, Kolento, Reynad, RegisKillbin

"really good in quest rogues" Because there aren't any important bounce mechanics at 2. and the +1/+1 Buff definitely applies after the 5/5 buff

This was really hard to call. What world does this card crush? The one where Druid gets nerfed out of total dominance (hard call to make lell) after completely destroying ladder for a month, and then the whole game becomes centered around Razakus, which gets a side-buff from the Druid nerf, and Tempo decks that high roll because it’s their only way to win. Back before the Quest Rogue nerf the whole game was built around aggro that counters Quest that is countered by certain control. Now the game is built around high roll decks (Raza and Shadowreaper for Priest, Keleseth for everyone else)

This does nothing to change the fact that Regis Killbin is a dipshit, for a) thinking this was geared more towards midrange than aggro/tempo (I don't understand the reasoning behind this at all), and b) thinking shaman would cut jade claws or flametongue for this guy. Jade claws especially. I'm not sure why anyone pays attention to him to begin with.

how do you not follow the logic that it is better in aggro/midrange? Those decks have a lot of low cost minions to dump to use the +1/+1 multiple times early in the game, and almost always use patches.

The card became broken just because of PATCHES and SOUTHSEA CAPTAIN. Not only Tempo Rogue, but pratically, EVERY CLASS was running this trio.

some of these cards i don't get what people are thinking underrating them, cards like bonemare i think were just easy to see and still they underrated it. this one though there's no way you could predict how good it was. never had a minion based deck not use 2 drops.

Patches turn 3, 4/4, "kaleseth is garbage they did". lol, all agro decks have him.

Note: the card has seen close to no play at all pre-nerf. Keep in mind that when streamers talk about the value of a card, they don't consider the card itself, they consider the meta. in that matter, they weren't too wrong. The card wasn't played before the neef. It saw a boost in popularity after the nerf because it allowed other decks than jade and stuff to rise. Don't get me wronf though, they do say stupid stuff. A lot of stupid stuff. Bht considering the meta, the card wasn't good enough at the time they reviewed it. That's the problem with most predictions anyway, they often fail to predict how the meta is gonna be defined and it's indeed difficult to know how it's gonna be shaped. Also keep in mind that keleseth is mostly broken by rogue and the shadowsteps; very good for zoo warlock (and current decks with spiteful synergy, but it's an expansion later)

Card reviews just goes to show the lack of foresight all of these steamers have. I don't think anyone has been accurate on their ratings.

Problem with these hearthstone streamers is that they literally don't know shit about their own game they constantly play. They are regarded as pros but always wrong

Clayton Harring They made their evaluation based on existing decks at the time. Keleseth decks weren't good until week 3 of the expansion

Easy name to pronounce that's besides the point. Magic pros evaluate cards and they rarely miss the mark on what makes a card good. Hearthstone has too much rng to evaluate decks effectively

before drood and fiery war axe nerf keleseth was indeed just a meme. It's not only rng, the game is so hard to predict because of the consistence of certain mechanics, the fact that the deck has only 30 cards (and without actually putting any mana which is guaranteed) makes so goddamn hard to predict how a certain card played in a certain moment affects the board without knowing beforehand what may happen in that specific moment on the opponent's board. The game has a certain degree of depth, it doesn't seem so only because after a certain number of games the greatest powerplay are discovered and everyone starts using them.

Some of those streamers however managed to call the bullshit cards of other expansions, such as Patches and STB before the expansion came out. I don't think *anyone* thought this card was gonna be good.
