It is really beautiful to know that Civil engineering is literally the same every where. Here in Makerere university we also go through all these courses. Design of structures, Soil Mechanics, Labs. Surveying was so interesting. Thank you so much Virtue .
Hi!! I've applied for civil engineering at different unis, but I don't know if I'll actually want to do it. My main worry is do you have to be creative? Because I'm not creative at all, and I was once told that an architect designs the buildings and then checks with the engineer to see if they can withstand certain environments and checks if it's structurally possible and discuss the materials to be used but I don't know if this is true.
Heyy, some parts of Civil Engineering is creative and some parts aren’t. You can just choose the modules which are less creative if you’d like. But what you said is correct, we do alot of design checks and structural calculations. Being environmentally friendly plays into it a lot aswell! Hope this helps :)

Very helpful video. I’m going to be doing a levels next term. Would you recommend I do product design instead of art as my 4th alevel. I’m currently going to be doing math physics and geography, and art as my 4th. However now I’m reconsidering.
Thank you, honestly it is up to you, I did Product design but I could've easily have choose Art. Your other 3 A levels will help you loads in the degree already, so I'd say for your fourth chose something you enjoy, so if that Art more than PD, chose that or vice versa. Bare in mind some of my friends did Art A level and they said it was very time consuming :)

Thank you, the only time we do presentations or public speaking is during design projects where presentations are 10% of your overall design grade. Don't worry though, its graded as a group.
